Map light bulbs on 09 Edge/MKX
omar302 replied to enigma-2's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Ok, Ok, I had the same issue & finally figured out that the 1600XB apparently represents the same W5W bulb but with a blue coating to create a whiter illumination. The same goes for the rear MAP/Courtesy & cargo lights, for the MKX they are listed as 211-2XB & they are blue bulbs of 578 (43mm festoon). I personally went for these for the front map & glove box lights: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AIJY2ZM/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_2 And for the rear courtesy & cargo light went with these" http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NOZ5AY/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1 They are excellent fit & illumination is great, highly recommended. Note: For the rear map lights, they also use the same bulbs as the courtesy & rear cargo bulbs (43mm festoon), at the time I did not buy the map bulbs & now whenever any of my kids turns it on, I would see the difference like day & night. Hopefully will change them too. -
BLIS notification LED dims?
omar302 replied to omar302's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Yes. Tried covering the light sensor until the auto lights came on & instrument panel lights dimmed. Guess it's one more thing to add to my list for the dealer. -
I just read in the owners manual the following regarding BLIS: I have never noticed this before, and now after testing, I am sure that alert LED brightness does NOT change, it is always dim (hard to see during the day). Tested this by turning the Park/Headlights on and off while the BLIS was working, even when the instrument panel lights were dimming/brightening, the BLIS led brightness remained the same. Can anyone confirm if theirs dim or not?

When changing tires, did you change the valve stems? They might be faulty.

Remote Starter - Continue Vehicle Running When Exiting the Vehicle
omar302 replied to edp428's topic in Owner Impressions
There should be a menu for remote start in the cluster settings menu. One of the options is for the driver & passenger seats & you should be able to select Auto or off. In Auto, the vehicle would decide if the heated seats are required to be turned on depending on outside climate temperature. -
Backup Camara "Active" Gridlines
omar302 replied to guerra1's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Maybe in the 2015 Edge (especially when equipped with Auto Park Assist), the current Edge (2014 & below) don't have it. -
The Mazda CX-9 has the audible sound, since it shares some parts with the Edge it might be possible. It would really be useful because the Ford's mirror has the a small yellow dot that is sometimes hard to see. In some cases I'd have to concentrate to see it if its blinking or not, especially when sunlight is shining on the mirror. Perhaps the LED can be made to shine brighter.

Check in the instrument cluster under the Information menu, how many MyKeys & Admin Keys are listed? From what you described, you should have 2 MyKeys (minimum that you used) and you should also have at least 1 more Admin key. If that is the case, then you have a missing 3rd key, either you try to find it or ask your dealer (or maybe a locksmith) to clear that key for you.

2016 Ford Explorer Gets a New Face, similarities to 2015 Edge
omar302 replied to JimPA's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
These gauges were first available in the 2013 MKZ (Lincoln's Fusion). And on the 2016 Explorer, it's only on the Platinum trim. Other trims have the same older gauges, maybe only having the speedometer symmetric (zero on the left & top speed on the left vs. today's zero on the bottom). It has nothing to do with the platform, they can all use the newer, seems to be a cost and /or a marketing issue.- 10 replies

WWWPerfA_ZN0W, Thanks for posting this. But my (& OP's I believe) issue is that the door seems to need to be closed a little bit further, not really aligning the door, but just to make the door shut closer to the body.
-
I have a similar issue, but with the rear left door. Also tried to adjust the door striker (the part on the body where the door latches to), but it did not seem to change. I feel like there is a different way to adjust the alignment on these cars.

Did you check the transmission fluid level? Did you refill with the correct type?

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
omar302 replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
On the Air filter topic, just that think about it, the same stock filter is also used for the 3.5 EcoBoost engine in the MKS, SHO, Flex, MKT & Explorer Sport which definitely takes in a lot more air than any of the Edge's engines, so I'd be more inclined that there won't be any real benefit from changing the filter to an aftermarket one. -
Even if you plug in the video input, if the rear camera function works in the HU, it would probably still need to be activated on a software level. Hope it works for you though.

2015 Edge Official Pricing with DEALER COST
omar302 replied to exodus's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
For the 2011-2014 Sport, probably the main reason we're the 22" wheels. For the 2015, it is still unknown why. Even though the Engine is similar to the F150's, the balance drivetrain & cooling system are not similar to the F150. -
The Navigation manual might be a general manual, not specific to the MKX. Though I could still be wrong about the Camera on the MKX, but only 90% sure it was something new for the 2011+. Anyway, here is an EBay listing for an 2009-10 Head unit & there does seem to be a line in the back (yellow plug) http://www.ebay.com/itm/381041877974

13N02 - Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Booster
omar302 replied to omar302's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Actually it sounds like you have air in the brake. Who replaced the pads for you? Did they Bleed the brake system? Are there any oil leaks? I think this is a serious safety issue, you need to check it fast. -
The 2007-2009 MKX did not have a back up cam option. If you really need to use the stock Head Unit for the camera display, you check the Sync Lockpic: https://www.coastaletech.com/synclockpick.htm

How to disable horn warning?
omar302 replied to mardyn's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
You can also leave the door ajar on the first indent (first latch). It can be locked, but would be considered as open & not give off the horn beeps. -
On another side of the unknowns, I am concerned that the Sport is also available in FWD. Till date, all Ford's & Lincolns with the 3.5 EcoBoost came AWD (on FWD based platforms), the idea behaind that (i believe) was torquesteer or too much power for the front wheels. So having the 2015 2.7 available with FWD might be an indication of a significantly lower performance compared to the 3.5 EcoBoost in the FWD platforms.
-
I believe Ford wants to wait till the last minute. Even the output figures for the 2.7 EcoBoost haven't been announced yet.
