  1. Just a thought, if you don't figure it out, you can still use the Lock-Pic which can add the rear view camera input among many other things. Or even the new MyTouch Air. https://www.coastaletech.com/mytouch2.htm https://www.coastaletech.com/mytouchair.htm
  2. I only read in 1 review that it might be upgradeable, but, Ford was clear when Sync3 was announced that older vehicles will not be upgraded due to hardware differences. So unless you get a clear confirmation otherwise, you should expect to remain on the same Sync version that comes with your vehicle. The review was from Car & Driver (http://www.caranddriver.com/ford/edge):
  3. There are 2 systems included in the front seat belts: pretensioners & energy management retractors. Pretensioners remove the slack in the seatbelts when an accident is detected. These are part of the buckle as thirdgenlxi stated above. Energy management retractors release (or adds some slack) to the seatbelts when a certain load is reached, when a person's chest is pressed hard on a shoulder belt that might cause injury the seatbelts would release a bit to reduce the load. Usually this is part of the retractor assembly.
  4. Another new option are the Philips Xenon X-tremeVision, which claim up to 50% more light (compared to standard HID), though I've never seen them on a vehicle so I can't say my opinion. http://www.lighting.philips.com/gb_en/application_areas/automotive/xenon-xtremevision.wpd But they are expensive, ~100 USD each bulb! http://hidconcept.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=223

You can try the Philips Xenon X-tremeVision, which claim up to 50% more light (compared to standard HID), though I've never seen them on a vehicle so I can't say my opinion. http://www.lighting.philips.com/gb_en/application_areas/automotive/xenon-xtremevision.wpd But they are expensive, ~100 USD each bulb! http://hidconcept.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=223
  6. My guess the missing part is the rain sensor cover. Some vehicles faced a problem where the cover falls off in high heat. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10763-2011-edge-sport-rain-sensor-cover-falling-off/ https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=store.PartInfo&PartNumber=BT4Z17D550A&VehicleID=313538&diagram=MS11335&Title%3DFORD-COVER
  7. +Customizable home screen, was there and gone. Ability to set a wallpaper only display, was & gone. Also, don't forget how many years it took Ford to reach version 3.6 with the stability that should have been there from the beginning. Early customers suffered a lot while waiting to reach this point, so Ford should compensate by at least giving more than just stability & at least for several years in the future as much as they made their customers wait for v3.6. And, don't forget all the hassles many went through during each update. All those downloads & dealer visits just to FIX MyFord Touch. YES, I would expect Ford to step UP & give us more features, not just basic fixes. Perhaps a petition should be started.
  8. The screen seems to be with Sync2 (MyLincoln Touch). Edit: or maybe not!
  9. Yes, legroom is less compared to many other cars, but there is a trick to get more legroom, set the seat lower. The power seat is designed in a way that when you lower the seat, it would actually go down at an angle (down & back), so for the most legroom, you need the seat to be at its lowest position.
  10. It's 325 hp & 375 lb/f for 2.7L EB compared to 305 hp & 280 lb/f for the 3.7L. Also note that the 2.7 EB numbers are for the F150, the Edge's are still not announced, and since the Edge has a weaker tranny (compared to the F150), torque is expected to be limited to 350 lb-ft similar to the 3.5 EB in the SHO & Explorer Sport.
  11. It's an EcoBoost 2.7L V6 that should be considerably more powerful than the outgoing 3.7L. The 2015 MKX still has the 3.7 because it's the same older modern (from 2011), the new MKX, based on the 2015 Edge is expected as a 2016 model. So only the 2015 Edge will be new. And don't be surprised if the 2016 MKX comes with something much better than the Edge as it is the higher end vehicle & costs more.
  12. This is the 1600XB from the MKX next to the 43mm Philips LED bulb.
  13. Those are easy to remove. But the trim around the shifter all seems to be removable as a single assembly.
  14. The Sport & Ecoboost models have different side skirts so the Husky mud flaps probably wouldn't fit correctly.
  15. Thanks for the help, I have removed the upper trim before, but the lower trim still has more screws on the sides behind the carpeted panels, and those carpeted panels seem to be connected in many places that makes removing them difficult.
  16. As per the title, can someone help with instructions to remove the trim surrounding the shifter? The trim I mean is the one indicated to in the attachment. I want to clean it thoroughly since I am getting annoyed from the small squeaks it makes.
  17. @Shacho & @Tacyon, Glad your both OK. From the looks of both vehicles, it seems Airbags were not required, so perhaps the restraint system did function properly & did not deploy the Airbags intentionally. You know that deploying an Airbag in a situation were it is not required could actually result in creating more harm instead of preventing it.
  18. They use a special tool as per attached TSB. TSB 14-0011 Door Ajar Lamp Remains Illuminated With Doors Closed 2011-13 Edge_MKX.pdf
  19. It wasn't a dealer IDS as there were many other makes in the device setup.
  20. Yes, it was programmed correctly and I was able to program 1 more key using the instructions in the Owners Manual. Even the left screen menu registered an extra admin key.
  21. It doesn't have to be a Ford IDS, many lock shops have a special generic device that connects to the OBD II connector & can do the programming. I am sure of it because I had an additional key programmed to my vehicle at a local lock shop (non dealer) when I had only 1 key (other was lost).
  22. From the 2009 MKX owners manual: There doesn't seem to be any special "trick" to open the panoramic roof. In my 2011, the roof shades would open then the glass would open to the vent position.
  23. Attached TSB 11-2-4 might be applicable to your case. TSB 11-2-4_Memory Seats old.pdf
  24. Since the issue started after the accident & repair, it is most probably due to that. Is it a sound that comes only once on that speed breaker above 20 km/h on a single start? or every time you pass the same bump (without turning the engine off)?
