May I ask why was the driveshaft replaced? What was the problem & was fixed? Thanks.
-
Newer Ford's have an auto shut off feature, so that if you leave the car idling (e.x. forgot to turn it off) it would turn off after 45 minutes. I'd expect the new Edge to also have it.
-
@Magnetic Edge, What other cars have you tested gave close numbers? Or what other cars have you tested, just to get an idea of what those number represent. Thanks.

Congratulations on the new ride. Hope you enjoy every mile driving it. If I have a question, it would be the 0-60 & 1/4 mile as I have yet to find any review with that info. Is the power comparable to an explorer Sport or Taurus SHO? For the Sync issue, I usually rename my Sync on my phone to Sync MKX, and when I paired my phone to a friend's Explorer, I did not face any issues keeping both vehicles paired to my phone. So try renaming the paired Sync before pairing the other.

I remember the main difference was the addition of twin variable camshafts. The earlier 3.5 & 3.7L had a single variable intake camshaft while the new versions have variable intake & exhaust canshafts (dubbed "Ti-VCT" short for twin-independent variable cam timing). This means different heads and electronics that control them.

I am not sure if the same is available on the 2015's, but my '11 MKX has a plastic sleeve attached to a string meant for positioning the rear shoulder belts at a more comfortable position. The sleeve is inserted in a hidden pocket on the seat back behind the head rest. From the OM: Second row comfort guide The second row outboard lap/shoulder belt is equipped with a belt comfort guide. This guide is attached to the head restraint and is stored in a pocket in the seatback. It is used to adjust the comfort of the shoulder belt for smaller occupants in the outboard second row seats. To adjust the comfort guide: 1. Slip the shoulder belt into the belt guide. 2. Slide the guide up or down along the webbing so that the belt is centered on the occupants shoulder.

11' - 14' have the sensors on the front doors only. That's applicable to the Edge, MKX, Taurus, MKS, Flex, MKT, Explorer. Not sure what other models are the same. It seems Ford started switching to a new system with a newer fob (factory 2-way) on new the platforms with sensors in all 4 doors, like the MKZ, MKC & now the Edge (not sure of the Fusion, I know it has the fob, but didn't try the 4 doors).

@Cellbine, I will definitely try to start driving with the sway control off to test if I can feel any difference. Sway control is an option that comes with the towing package, so I'd think there would be a way to permanently disable it with a dealer.
-
The 11-14' Edge with intelligent access can only access from the front doors. The rear doors do not have the required sensor or lock button. Same goes for the MKX.
-
It always defaults to on when starting the vehicle. Your not supposed to feel a difference when your not towing.

Congrats on the new ride, hope you enjoy it. Can you confirm if those front accent lights work as DRLs during the day?

I would suggest to impair the phone, delete sync from your phone's Bluetooth devices then re-pair them. I am not sure about v1 of Sync, but if there is a master reset option in setting, do it.

Automatic Highbeams for 2014 Edge?
omar302 replied to cclaxton's topic in Accessories & Modifications
There is this, but I don't know if it works fully on the Edge: http://www.mobileye.com/products/mobileye-5-series/ -
I think you can use the same wires used for the rear greeting lights from this post: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11431-led-puddle-lights/?p=118493

MFT report your successful installations or problems
omar302 replied to exodus's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Should be fine as the downloads are VIN specific. The 3.6 update I downloaded from the same site was an Export version meant for my non-US MKX. It was minus the files for 911 assist & vehicle health report which are not supported in our region. -
Ford vehicles don't have TPMS sensors in the Spare wheels.

Backup Camera Without My Touch
omar302 replied to slEdgehammer's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Do you have a the Window Sticker? Is it mentioned in the options? If you don't have the window sticker, use the below link, just add the VIN at the end (after "="). http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin= You can also use the Ford ETIS website to find more details of the car, go to the vehicle tab & enter the VIN, once vehicle details come up, on the right lower corner, expand the "Minor Features" to check all the specs. https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do Though the vehicles we have here are "Export" models, the options & packages usually match those available in the US, and I have seen several 2012 Edge SEL with cloth seats, no MFT, with Backup Cam. -
What they should add first is full brake support with the collision warning system. The current system only pre-charges the brakes. Ford did announce the new system for the European Mondeo, hopefully it will also reach other models very soon. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/10/23/new-ford-pre-collision-assist-with-pedestrian-detection.html
