  1. Since it is a 2011, maybe the batteries in both fobs need replacements? If it does this again, try to put the fob in the slot inside the center console compartment, this slot is meant to allow the vehicle to detect the fob even if its battery is dead. Also, that message "Shutting down to save battery...etc", if your sure you did not leave the accessory mode on when you left your car, would probably mean the needs a new battery. If it has never been replaced before, it might also be near the end of its life.
  2. Hi Jason, do you know if the RDS that displays radio text can also be enabled and/or disabled? For the Middle East, our cars have the radios programmed to get all frequencies (for example 103.4 FM), but for some reason RDS does not work. We have the option to turn it on (on the MFT screen), but it does not turn on, remains off.
  3. EBay. Just make sure the remote is compatible with your Edges year & that it looks like your old key/fob. Matching the fcc number is an added safety check.
  4. From the looks of it, you will only get the bezel/housing with the led surround, there will be a hole for the fog light which you'll need to get the fog lights for.
  5. The 2016 MKX, built on the same chassis as the Edge can be equipped with the tow package (3,500 lbs) with the same Sport 2.7L engine.
  6. Ok, got my 1st system restart (or reboot or whatever Ford calls it claiming that it doesn't happen) after approximately ~19 hours. I mean the restart that happens while car is off and previously in V3.6.2 caused ambient lights to reset to default. Glad to report that ambient lights do NOT reset in V3.8 (as was also the case with V3.7), but now also the phone ringer & text notification did NOT reset. So good news here, thanks Ford IVT team for fixing it. On the other hand, the display brightness setting did reset. To explain this a little more, I have set it to auto (to flip between day/night) which is the default setting, but also set the auto brightness offset setting to the minimum (far left). So at night I get dimmer screen. What happens is when the restart thing happens, the auto bright offset resets to default & I get a brighter screen which is noticeable at night. Note that the slider for the setting does not change (remains at far left), but switching to night display will cause the auto brightness offset setting to kick in & then going back to auto setting it will stick & scree will be dimmer, until the next system restart.
  7. From the 2011 Edge Owners Manual: You need 2 key to program a 3rd or 4th key yourself (without any special equipment). Without having 2 keys, your dealer or a good locksmith can program new (or used) keys & they can even erase the old ones (if stolen or lost). I personally tried all methods. When I first got my car I had only 1 key (2 were programmed to the car). Bought a used one from eBay & a locksmith added it to my car (now had 3 2 keys but 3 were programmed to the car). Then bought another one off eBay, and since now I had 2 working keys, I programmed it my self (as per Manual instructions) then had the dealer delete the original key so only the ones I had worked. I believe when the dealer wants to delete a key, they would actually delete all keys & then reprogram the available keys, hence the note in the manual to bring all transmitters. Also, note that the all the programming is done on the vehicle. The key is never programmed itself. So if you program a car to with a specific key, then program another car to use the same key, then both cars will start with the same key. If both cars are parked close to each other, the remote start would start both cars at the same time.
  8. Like what akirby said, the Edge doe not have Adaptive Headlights. The information regarding Instrument Cluster settings in the manual seem to be general & cover ALL Ford/Lincoln vehicles (including those outside US).
  9. The tester clearly wiggled his foot below the bumper.
  10. I'd guess you might have been very close to the back of your Edge that your foot was actually within the kick sensor range. If the feature is not suited for you, maybe it can disabled in left screen menu. Also note that the power tailgate has an Obstacle Detection mechanism for safety so rest assured that would not have a crushing force if it closes on something, and I don't think an infant can be left positioned in the path of the lift gate.
  11. For 2016 it is now available on the Sport & SEL as part of the cold weather package with rubber floor mats. Information from the 2016 order guide posted in the forum.
  12. Disconnect the car battery for a few minutes to force a restart.
  13. Make sure the USB is formatted to Fat32 (as far as I remember). Also, try first with a few songs before putting so many. For the manual, PDF copies are available online, including the manual for Sync. Finally, make sure you have latest updates for sync at http://www.syncmyride.com/
  14. Try doing a master reset for the MyFord Touch. If that doesn't work, you'll probably need to visit your dealer. Also, as @WWWPerfA_ZN0W stated above, make sure you are on the latest software version (now 3.8).
  15. Sometimes traction control works in advance (trying to predict possible wheel spin), so it might still have an affect on acceleration even if no wheel spin was present.
  16. Sync 3 is mentioned? What other changes are made? I was hoping the 2016 Edge will get the Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection like the 2016 MKX.
  17. Parking lights turning on with door(s) opening is normal. All recent Ford/Lincoln vehicles do it (unless it is a Police version with Dark mode on).
  18. Did you have traction control on or off? I would suspect the slower times with higher RPM (and the fluctuation in Lateral G's) was due to the traction control engaging. If traction control was on, did you notice the light coming on during the runs? more/less with the different RPM runs?
  19. If you mean by headlight indicator the green light with to opposite facing headlights, then that also turns on with the parking lights. When you open a door, the parking lights also turn on, I'd guess that this is normal. I can't confirm it because 2011 models do not have that indicator.
  20. If you check any spare parts website, the front rotors are the same for all models of the Edge (2011-2014). So if 17" wheels fit on the Edge SE, they should fit the Limited & even Sport models.
  21. Yes, it is simple plug & play. Did on my 2011 MKX as we don't get the home link transmitters on any Ford or Lincoln in our region.
  22. The MKX/Edge with ambient lighting do illuminate quite bright. I'd say similar to the other areas that illuminated by the ambient lights. But note that what works on the MKX/Edge doesn't necessarily mean it is the same for the MKS. It would be better to find another MKS & check it out.
  23. Yes. APIM replacement is included in an extended 5-year warranty (6 for Lincolns) irrespective of mileage. Check the attachment in this post.
