  1. you can get boxes/devices that will tap into the screen & navi system and allow you to do what you want. search around here as they have been mentioned and I do not have links handy. what year Edge you have may determine which box you can get and what it is capable of. I have one that allows me to have a backup camera and flip a switch to make the DVD front navi turn into a player if I have a DVD hooked up. There are other boxes that allow even more than that.
  2. this has kind of been an issue since the beginning. if you search here, you will see mentions of this for people that go camping or to a drive in, etc. I ended up making a flip switch that ties into the fuse box and shuts down all internal lights. You can search and find it. BUT, IIRC, next time you do this, trying locking the doors with the remote while in the car. I did not go back and search for the thread, and since I use my toggle switch I do not recall exactly, but something about that rings true. that or it was like manually, with your finger, closing the little hook latch on the trunk to make it think the trunk is closed. something like that... search will find the thread
  3. and seat belts, airbags, ABS, AWD, doors & roofs, navi and much much more but, a reverse cam is a pretty handy tool... just like the reverse sensor, SYNC, and all the other cool gadgets. With tighter parking spots, more traffic on the roads, more kids and pets running around, I find it super valuable and worth the cost and effort to install
  4. those are 10x easier and take minutes to swap all 6 bulbs
  5. IIRC, when I did mine, there are just simple screws holding it on... removed a few of the screws and folded/bent back the splash guard just enough to get it, force hand up into that tiny space. it is a total PITA install and takes 5x longer than simple HL bulbs. I have an '08 and from what I recall, going through the top was just not possible or feasible, through the bottom up is the way to do it. remove a few screws to get access.
  6. this is all 4 pieces, the Panavise mount for the Edge, the Pro.Fit swivel, a butchered T-Notch mount from a cheap ebay vent mount that I needed to attach my Droids T-Notch phone holder to, and the Droid T-Notch phone holder
  7. Photos with mods, accessories and includes photos of rare SEL only premium painted wheels on a Limited.
  8. From the album: Lex's SoCal Limited: white sand tri coat + black guts

    side/back view.. CLEAN install

  9. this is 3 pieces, the Panavise mount for the Edge, the Pro.Fit swivel, a butchered T-Notch mount from a cheap ebay vent mount that I needed to attach my Droids T-Notch phone holder to
  10. Here you go... finished product As I said above, I bought the cheap eBay vent mount and butchered the T-Notch mount off of it as that was cheaper than buying a stand alone T-Notch mount for the Droid Phone mount. So, I dremmeled that off - tossed the rest in the garbage - and then drilled new holes in it, added some small washer spacers and mounted it to the Pro.Fit swivel mount. I then mounted all of that to the Panavise dash mount. Here is what you get. The Panavise took 5 minutes to install. Biggest issues are (1) where along the dash you want it mounted (vertically) and (2) drill and screwing in the screws to hold the Panavise mount as the Navi unit gets in the way to make the perfect angle with a drill and screwdriver.
  11. nice tip it would be VERY helpful to us all if you could 1. provide a simple photo of this installed relay so others can see how it's done and what it looks like installed 2. provide some details on the 6-12v relay so others can find one like it (where you might buy, what it looks like, etc)
  12. good tip... beats wiring up resistors in tight spaces but if they charged me the normal laughable rate, I would do the self resistors install
  13. search the topic here, swapping of navi systems has been covered man, many, many times here with part #'s, install photos, details, etc. It's all here and to much to recount, so search on the topic and you will find what you need.
  14. after buying the cigarette lighter mount from extreme PDA - which comes with a ProClip Droid mount using the dual T-Notch system - I did a little snooping around and I found an eBay seller selling the Panavise plate - EXACTLY like more costly the ProFit plate that fits into the dash all nice and clean - for ver cheap. I just got the Panavise plate (#751371307 fits the 07-10 Edge) for about $19 shipped (versus $32 retail + ship) and already have the ProClip MI-500bg T-Notch mount for my Droid so just bought a vent mount system off eBay of $7 shipped that has the matching swivel neck using dual T-Notch. $26 OTD for a stealth plate system. SO.. that means, out the door, I will have 2 complete mounts (2 different vehicles) for about the same or a little less than 1 complete retail ProClip - one stealth plate dash mount (the Panavise plate) with a swivel & T-Notch quick release system AND I will be able to take that same ProClip droid mount piece off that and attach it to the Extreme PDA cigarette lighter mount and leave that in my truck as both will use the dual t-notch quick release. The Panavise mount for the Edge The Pro.Fit Droid mount that has dual T-notch back: Pro.Fit MI-500bg the T-Notch capable Swivel mount I will butcher to mount to the above Panavise mount will post photos of the final install when I get it all dialed in and installed. installation looks like a total piece of cake (pdf file)
  15. yep, remove a few of the offending fender well screws local to just the bulb being changed, peel back the cover and then have small hands as it is brutal to get up in there, and very awkward placement and other plastic pieces in the way when you do get up in there. replacing those bulbs is like a 30 minute job. read up on some of the fog light threads about it.
  16. love them as very clean install, looked at them, then walked away after looking at the price.. a clip system - mount + the clip for your phone or GPS is like +$70-80 out the door I ended up going with an affordable mount from http://www.extremepda.com/
  17. the fix I posted in #22 I just had to do again, but it fixed it again. Wish I knew why this would revert back to dings at top of load, but nevertheless, it fixed it.. again
  18. very cool.. I like but 6 moths? was the installer 1 person with 1 leg, 1 arm and 1 eye... 6 months??
  19. if you search here on the topic, you will see MANY threads and pictures and parts numbers and LED interior bulb topics covering everything you could ever want to know. They can just be ordered via eBay or the internet, so getting them should not be an issue for you.
  20. I also saw those - and others - when I went looking for CF antennas. cheaper price and for me, extending matters not.
  21. nice.. I think you read my original thread I love carbon fiber, buy it in products whenever it is an option. I like how this one can extend IF you even care about receiving a terrestrial signal (which I do not) anyway, only issue with my original install is that the anodizing is wearing off on the leading edge. so, I might give this one a try one I earn enough eBay bucks to blow
  22. not only did mine do this. but it became grossly "sticky" - they replaced it free for me. it was not sun fading, it was some sort of bad defect on the rubber on mine.
