  1. I have been trying to contact the hitch shim company for a 10 days now, but no joy. I have a hitch bike rack and it is a bit sloppy in my 2" after-market hitch - is it the hitch or is it the bike rack - so figured I would try the product and report back. well, if I can ever get one.. I will post up
  2. superbrightleds.com offers them (as long as the pin outs match).. I bought all my bulbs from another vendor then those guys and said vendor said they also offer an electronic LED capable relay. so, if I do those reaming bulbs I have not done - turn signals/brake.. I will be trying that solution rather than wiring 4 turn signals.

  4. you want to go here to make that request. I got mine there as well as did others here
  5. I have seen, many times, one's and two's and salvaged on eBay. might keep an eye there.
  6. My 18" came with Michelin on my '08 But I know for a fact their were some Continentals on the lot as well.
  7. 20% for sure. Try Craigs List.. I live up in North County and there are people that travel and list on CL and come to you. But, if you are down in the city, I would think a ton of options in like PB or OB area...
  8. Ike.. can you post a photo of the camera and its mounting? I would be very curious to see this mount location..
  9. we can agree on that point. and yes, my claim of multi-tasking ability was no joke. why, at the very moment I am writing this I am also listening to a satellite radio, eating, texting a buddy, coding a project, reading an email and surfing the internets. amazingly honed skillz after 30 years practice.
  10. ahh... do it, photo it, post it up and lets see
  11. BTW.. I watched that Harry Connick jr. commercial last night where he drives the MKX thru New Orleans .. anyway, I noticed that in the entire commercial there is NO antenna on the car! they took it off and just have the black base all the way through. LOL should have gotten him a stubby
  12. has anyone done it? just mere posts below yours is this thread you might like http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2431
  13. Now, what would be cool is if they could do it such that if the car senses a person in the passenger seat, like it does with air bags, it unlocked the ability to program the GPS while moving... sure, nothing stops the driver from reaching over and doing it.. but hey, seems they would kind of have liability covered then. I mean heck.. we are all adults.. it is kind of absurd you cannot do it on a built in GPS but every after market Tom Tom and what not - which are designed to be in your car and exactly how they market them - can be tweaked while driving. for them to blame it on riskiness of behavior and thus liability is a crock... you can take all kinds of other much much much higher risks while driving your car.. what happens if you bought a Ford without the Sync, but need to use your phone for example & don't have an ear piece.. but heaven forbid you try to tweak your GPS.. what's next, a limiter to speed at 85 as no where in the USA can you drive faster anyway so why not stop our ability to do that risky move as well. why have a Ford showing a top end speed of what... 120 mph. People are not dying programming GPS, but they are rocketing their cars down the road at 100+ mph so how they justify one limiter and use the liability clause and not another is just corporate BS. Yes, I can drive, listen to music and/or talk on the phone or with a person in the car and/or even tweak a GPS all at the same time. God gave us multi-tasking ability, I use mine.
  14. well... how about some photos of all of this? sounds great, but a visual would help others thinking of doing the same. any chance you could make a sound or video clip of the exhaust with sound in it and post it? that alone would be a huge help.
  15. BTW.. why not just buy the Ford TPMS sensors & re-calibration kit from eBay for your wheels - $25?
  16. plus insured shipping both ways on a heavy item and time to remove/install the nav unit. these ideas of removing your nav unit and sending it in has potential, but maybe 1 in 100 people would actually make that effort. but good resource to add as an option I got to thinking.. if you have the skill to remove the nav unit and send it in, why would you not have the skill to then do the same wiring they are able to do? why can only they do it and not us? ANSWER: I was told it was because it took real solid soldering skills on the flat motherboard. so they only do it. Also, here is an interesting photo I found while web snooping on the topic that shows the stand alone unit from a 2007. I got an email in to these guys - well, it seems they want $450 to do it and you also need to send in unit.
  17. you know.. I decided to bail on the idea the more and more I researched it. The mirror is affordable, the camera is affordable.. but the install could be a bit tricky and the big reason is that the mirror has the camera, but not the microphone for those of us with the Sync system. So, in talking to the Gentex rep, you literally have to rip out the microphone from your old mirror and put it somewhere in the head-liner, exposed, to still have usage as the new mirror does not have that microphone. They told me that 2 Ford dealers in the USA they knew of had pulled it off for customers... but mine would not try it and I wanted them to do it for liability reasons (if they messed up they would have to fix it) rather than me on that one as it was a bit risky I decided.
  18. did you try this tool? you can search all the dealers for EXACT car in their inventory in your area (or any area really).
  19. once you go Satellite, you never go back. Terrestrial radio.. no thanks.
  20. nice! glad it helped... sometimes, never know what might trigger the answer.
  21. holly cow.. twice in 1 week we agree.. what is the world coming to to add to this, from older thread, but pretty complete on same question here, but the gist is: From my research, there are 4 things you get in the Limited that do not come on SEL... 1 - you get the Limited badge on the rear 2 - you get the 'nicer' chrome clad wheels 3 - the 'beltline molding' (the trim piece under the length of the side windows) is chrome on the Limited and black on SEL 4 - you can do both Premium Package and the Seating Flexibility Package
  22. gotta love those stubby antennas
  23. believe me.. the HID is super easy install. really, so do not let that be a show stopper, many write ups here to help. worth it. yeah, the reflector pattern is a bit whack, but the upsides - for me - definitely out weigh that because once they come on, they just make you smile like.. niiiiice
  24. was that what that was... could have fooled me.. looking like a fake arse cheezy lizard.. even Godzilla would be pissed if he saw that commerical
