blue generally means oil related. like oil is entering the cylinders which means a failed gasket/seal of some type most likely - so it very well could be a bad cylinder seal. not only that.. what exactly is "normal exhaust color".. there should be no "exhaust color"

Stubby Antenna Install
Lex Talionis replied to Lex Talionis's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I report no issues with it. BUT, as I have said, I live in an area with good reception, nor do I use it much (if ever) so I cannot complain at all. I would do it again.. but reception was not a concern of mine and it so happens I notice no reception loss.. so for me, it was a win win -

price is good for digital kit.. how about a photo of the cut off line on the Edge.. something similar to the 3rd F-150 photo and/or one up against a garage door. this way, we can see some specific Edge realities.

they did not.. but I did not ask that questions as the cost would be more - roughly $100 - than I wanted for that mod, so it was not on my list to ask. They say on the site that the carbon fiber version "allows for colder air induction system temperatures resulting in less heat soak and lower air charge temperatures than competitive brands using metal tubes" but notice how it does not need a new tune to use it over plastic or steel? that seems kind of odd, no? I would think if it is that beneficial, it would need the tune modified. anyway, its not in my budget

I would hope it has less bends than stock... a sound clip would be great and useful

not sure if you can see the 2009 anywhere on web yet, I have not looked hard for them, but here would be the place to see/watch I would think. That "360 Get A Better View" is the best way to see them and I would think they will put 2009 here as well would be my best guess.

Factory headunit question
Lex Talionis replied to brentster's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I would agree.. it will make a noticeable improvement.. those stock speakers are pretty bunk at best. if I were to start with 1 thing, I would do speakers first and then build from there as a sub and amp won't make the actual quality of sound any better per se, but speakers would make the sound better right off the bat and then build on your system with an amp and sub as you can. -
seems it could really only by 3 possible areas... simplistically, a seat has about 3 attachment points that it seems could wobble.... so kind of surprised it cannot be found: (1) the mount point at the floor for entire seat system. entire seat (seat, motors, rails, mount) is not locked down tight at floor board. (2) the mount point of the seat at the motorized rails (which is higher up than #1) - basically that is, the seat generally attaches to some mechanized rails that slide back and fourth and up and down and that then attaches to the base that mounts to the floor (#1 above)... so the seat itself may not be attached to the motorized unit that attaches to the base and is wobbly. (3) the seat is correctly attached to the motorized base rails (#2) and to the floor (#1) BUT the motorized rails system is not attached and sloppily mounted to the base mount (#1) so the seat can still adjust on the motorized rails, but the connection is not solid from there onto the floor base mount so wobbly. seems 1 of those 3 attachments points must be the culprit as it would not be 'in' the seat per se as much as it is where the seat attaches that would allow it to be wobbly. this is the basic troubleshooting I would like at first to find this.

so you now have to add 3-4 bends then? like a "U" to go around the rear drive train?

Confused trying to buy an Edge 08, need help!

yep, you should be bale to combine rebates and x-plan and try to angle that Conquest cash and make it happen. -
I 'thought' someone here had them installed.. try the search function. either way, not a fan of these guys, but Walmart sells the XO model so you could always see them there

I agree 100%. since I am 'considering' this mod, I will wait to see how it all pans out when they release. better to get it all from them then to have that separate and then still have to pay for yet more CAI specific tunes - in the end, that would be more coin. I just had a flurry of emails with Jim and he answered all of my questions, so that was cool. That is when I learned this new info about the fact you must have a tune to use their CAI. he says if you just put their CAI on with no tune, the car will not run correctly with all of the excess air. all this being said, these guys 'seem' like the one company taking a CAI for the Edge serious: doing actual dyno tests, using tunes, quality materials, years in the business of actually doing this.. the only issue is that it is taking soooo long

did you try these guys http://navteq.com/ they are the provider

bummer to hear.. I had crap like this on my new VW years ago, thankfully, this time around has been smoother. I have read about these issues before, but all as separate events on different cars and not all on 1 car. clearly, is is a computer glitch driving these problems. I would suspect that if they have hooked up some sort of monitoring device, they will now start to catch the issues as it seems you have had all this over 3 months so they will likely catch them next time they happen. report back what they find out.. if anything

welcome.... any photos? wasn't the Dune Pearl Metallic a 2007 SEl model?

Here is some new info from Steeda that just might price many of us out of doing their CAI (when/if it finally comes out). I guess it makes sense, no one else ever posted this fact nor does it seem mentioned on other CAI kit sites, but it adds significantly to the cost of the mod.... In response to my question of: I read this about some of your other CAI's "Note: Use of Steeda's Cold Air Intake REQUIRES a tune under any application, which is sold separately" will this be the case for the one for the Edge? I was told: "yes, our cold air kits flow to much air, so the computer needs to be tuned. Dont be fooled by versions that dont need a re-tune, they dont produce any power. All cold airs that 'Increase horsepower and gas mileage' you need to tell the computer to adjust air/fuel to take care of it. We will have a package im sure like the mustang, for cold air and tuner combined. So yes you will need both." further info: if you own your own tuner already it is an additional $45-50 for a correct Steeda CAI specific tune and they email it to you. if you do not own a tuner and buy one with their package, from what I understand from them get 3 with it and they will load for you into tuner.

yeah, just teasing you.. the black looks awesome.. when it is clean that is nice avatar.. I custom built myself a CA legal AR15 a few years back. pretty avid shooter. enjoy the boards, tons to learn here

do you know what version DVD you have? 4p, 6p, 7p... your nav system will have an info screen than tells you what you have currently installed.

Confused trying to buy an Edge 08, need help!

I was able to pull that off, and then some.. but it was all about timing 1. they were offering like 1500 cash back at that time 2. presidents day sale was a 1000 3. x plan pricing 4. they have/had another not dated offer, seldom known about called Conquest cash for 1000 - for those of us moving from another competing brand to Ford 5. misc items like 500 back on some wheels, no license/titles fees with x plan saved I think timing is the real key for max breaks and see about the Conquest cash. Don;t ask about it, tell them you plan to do it and you will be brining your current registration to prove you will be a new Ford owner... assuming you are http://www.fordvehicles.com/incentives/offers/ see what they are currently offering in your neck of the woods -
okay.. I do not use the AC much here in SoCal where I live. But I did today AND I happened to have to reach in the glove box for something and the moment I opened it it was like holy I had not really followed this thread and never read about this glove box issue. but I can tell you, as soon as I got home I searched here and sure enough, others notice it. I am virtually positive that it is not just the 'sound' that increases. that would imply the glove box door is acting as a sound insulator to a degree.. in my case, you can notice air flow change. sound for sure, but air flow is noticeable. I was very surprised no doubt. hand in front of vent and glove box door closed and then open door and sure enough, a bit more air. yes on sound, but air also. I have not looked into this deeper to see why.. but it kind of implies to me not a loose or disconnected duct, but a duct that has cut outs in it to allow the door to close in the available space and when the door opens, those cut outs are free to let air flow past as the portion of the box has moved out of the way. very interesting and no doubt there.

just selling... thats all to some, 7p is not worth the hefty coin as their area did not get any updates over 6p. so if you have 4p, you could jump to 6p for a fraction of the price of the new 7p no one seems to want to buy and may not add any new nav data for your area anyway. so to someone, it could be that perfect jump up from old 4p and save some coin.

often it will not recognize songs that do have a minimum series of the ID tags done like: title, artist, album, genre, etc. I do not recall exactly what tags are required to be recognized, check your ID tags and make sure they are complete with at least the ones I mention and try again. These ones I mention are ways you can search in Sync so it seems the ones that MUST be done.
