  1. try to reset Sync by pulling the Sync fuse (search these forums or your manual as I forgot which one) for 1 minute. people also had success by disconnecting battery, but easier to just pull the fuse as that is official reset method. then also upgrade your Sync to version 1.1 if you have not already. that can be obtained here
  2. I bet you have the User Device set to Line In and not USB.. check that.. if you had your mp3 player hooked up to the USB port BUT did not have the User Device set to USB and rather, Line In this would happen. and/or do you see the timer count down on the screen when the mp3 player is playing songs?
  3. go here to get install details. yes, it is like a firmware upgrade. can only be done via USB drive. simple thumb drive will do. 1.1 is out and fixed a lot of issues for a lot of people - like me. You might want to try with that first until this one gets hashed out, but you MUST be a member - free - and setup and account and profile to download these updates. visit the website.
  4. "This software contains enhancements that will improve the reliability and functionality of both Bluetooth and USB connections to SYNC from various phones and media players. The Bluetooth enhancements will improve support of the phonebook download feature and enhance the stability of hands-free calls, call waiting, caller ID, multiple call handling and other mobile phone features. The USB enhancements include updates to improve the reliability of the USB connection and improve support for media players and the playing of file formats and podcasts." So now, we have had 1.1 (which fixed all my 3 main bugs I had complaints about) and now the 1.2 release yesterday. you can get it here if you signup and make an account under Sync Owners UPDATE: the 1.2 update is now back online and people are reporting success with the new download.
  5. put about 150 rnds of 223, 70 rnds of 40cal and 70 rnds of 9mm down range last night
  6. so if someone uses the famous line, "what are you.. a rocket scientists?" you can actually somewhat say "yes, I am" on a serious note.. I visited Hiroshima last year, wow... what a place. I learned a heck of a lot, rather humbling experience.
  7. LOL... ha ha.. but didn't you even hear.. "never bring a bowling ball to a gun fight" nice. like I said above, about to do a conversion on a Remi 870 from hum drum bird gun to a full tactical setup with Mossberg breacher barrel and a bunch of tactical ATI parts.
  8. hmmm.. may have to ask Santa for it.. if there is I thing I know about myself, with my new cars, I am into washing & detailing the heck out of them often... for the first 6-8 months. Then, inevitably, my interest starts to wain and I start to dread it. So, anything like that which is legit, I might have to give a shot. I did not realize it was just a filter. I assumed it was some 'stuff' they was sprayed onto the car in conjunction with the water and thus, it left some sort of film on it that reduced surface tension so the water bailed out. so I thought, if it is some 'stuff' what does that do to the finish and the windows over time.. some toxic film build up? but if it is just a filter...
  9. CAI is not even shown or listed on their Edge specific website: http://www.steedaedge.com/ - and this has been talked about for what, 7-8 months?
  10. I have been wondering about those home use spray gun systems seen on TV like Mr. Clean Autodry Car Wash System that claims, "Provides a spot-free clean with no need to hand dry!" Anyone tried one? Any feedback.. Boy, it would save so much time in my day to jump that last step, or at least save time by having to do less of it.. but it seems to good to be true.
  11. my concern with those places is 2 fold 1. people in a hurry drying the car off - near me, even touchless still has a final rag dry after the air blow - and doing final rub downs bump, nick, hit car and sit in the interior with stuff in their pockets. 1 guy put a hole in a leather seat of mine once when we forgot something in his back pocket 2. when they use those rags, I know they are 'suppose' to be clean and from the 'new' pile, but many times I have watched them stretch a rag use from 1 car to another.. so a really dirty car make get crud on the rag that passes to your nice finish when they start to dry
  12. not heard a thing since last posted update. about 2 weeks ago I sent off yet another inquiry... no reply. could end up being unobtanium
  13. I really think that would be such a long shot. finding a similar width, than how to mount to a car with no mounts/brackets in place, but even dramatically harder to find, a similar profile with curves and such in the same place. I suppose it would be 'possible' but highly improbable. believe me, I am a big believer in modding stuff and retrofitting, but this one might be a rough one to pull off.
  14. We do have an off topics.. called "Lounge (Off Topic) " - guess you missed it.. maybe they will move this thread there.. anyway.. don't get me started. I love gun porn. Big Glock fan! I have a 23 myself (40 cal). I also have I want to build next
  15. Your a douche bag rip off con artist. you still owe me my money you promised to refund me. 2 months and no product or refund. jerk.

  16. yep, I recall them being tough to get out. as you know, the bulbs sit in their own little trays and access to the tray itself is tight for the fingers. I had to removed the license plate so I had room to drop down the trays (they unclasp via little tab) which have plenty of wire to come down several inches, remove the plastic window cover and replace bulbs that way. dropping the trays allowed me to turn them and finally get purchase on the tiny bulbs and use the full pressure needed to remove them. trying to take them out while in the trays up under that ledge was a no go for me.
  17. The one that I jumped in a played with said "Sony" on the startup screen... so that is why I assumed it was a Sony nav system. anyway.. on all fronts, I wish we could change them out. But, I also recall - among other things - there is a different form factor and a new button, etc. I investigated this a bit back with a different thread before even this much was known, and it became clear than that a straight swap would not be possible.
  18. Nice. where is SoCal did you buy?
  19. Ahh.. so the hard drive is just for digital music storage, not nav access... so I was 'kinda' right
  20. 2007-2008 are Pioneer.. 2009 are Sony systems. The 2009 system GUI (user interface) is so much more modern and slick, very nice compared to 07-08. Also, as you said, bitchen Travel Link in 2009 - I would love to have that feature. Also, not 100% sure, but I thought the nav data on the Sony was on hard-drive and not DVD.
  21. it just opens while driving? wow. this is certainly a dealer issue ASAP.
  22. I wouldn't let that stop you. just keep the pigtail plugs you snip off and rewire them, and the speakers, back up if you sell. But heck, by the time you sell, the speakers will likely be so out of date and so old compared to the newest design, not worth the money to save them and you would get more value out of selling them as an "upgraded feature" on your car than yanking them out, putting the turd ones back in, and keeping them for... what? maybe another car that maybe has the same speaker size?
  23. yes I do.. Feb 2008 actually. direct from factory to me having tied into the blue wire w/red stripe (or orange as you claim), they of course shut off when the car is off - I would never have tied into that wire otherwise. but when the car has key in the ignition and turned, they are always on night or day. that is, they do not come on when the lights come on as they would for those that have, for example, tapped into the wires at the light switch. 2007 harness... interesting
  24. you make a better explanation on the crossover function no doubt, I was more thinking, and thought I explained what I meant, that an "external" crossover is not needed... but I am sure, if he buys from Crutchfield - I know I know they are just a seller - they will steer him into speakers with the correct configuration (crossover no crossover external crossover built in crossover) to run with the standard or audiophile system he has.
