I have 7p down in San Diego and would say no, it will not fix your issues. I have noticed the same thing. I have go waaaaay around at times when there are more direct routes. I have my select preferences adjusted for the nav system (roads to take and avoid, fastest route, etc). I just think it is a so so nav in the scheme of things. better than nothing, but not the best available.

Finger Prints on GPS Display
Lex Talionis replied to dadrett's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
stop using your fingers and just use your knuckles -
I asked about this many, many months ago here but got no takers.. "lambo" doors they are often called. did you find some for the actual Edge or photos of one as I did not at the time. I watched the install of a pair on a TV show once and it looked like a bit more than I would want to bite off.. some must be welded, some are bolt on. electrical harnesses need extensions often.

Finger Prints on GPS Display
Lex Talionis replied to dadrett's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
hold the phone..... your saying you use a popsicle stick to interact with your nav screen? you actually hold a stick and push the touch screen & have a tether tied to it incase you drop it like little kids do with their winter gloves? ha haa ha haa .. where was this post April 1? seriously, this is an odd one.. I just got a screen protector of eBay early on and it 'helps' -
I was surprised also, but here is a quote from another thread by bbf2530... "Hi 18ACHEVY. It is in the fuel tank and does not need replacement in normal service. From the Owners Manual: FUEL FILTER Your vehicle is equipped with a lifetime fuel filter that is integrated with the fuel tank. Regular maintenance or replacement is not needed. Hope this information helps. Good luck. "

fuel filter is actually in the gas tank itself IIRC.... and IIRC it never needs replacement.. I think BBF can/will chime in with more particulars. but hey... if this is true, unless you have some serious issue with yours, here is another example of a shifty dealer

my VW had a similar system if I follow you - Tiptronic - and it was sooo cool for about 2 months.. then I never used it one of those things that I think very specific, very small target market of users would like - but most people never even use

ohh.. I am pretty sure if you only have a screen, you could add a filter no worries. I would be hard pressed to believe they would do 2 totally different units. 2 different filters, screen or paper filter yes, but not 2 different units. and since you can buy cheap, no harm to toss in a filter and bail on the screen. the more interesting thing is to note whether "manual" and "auto" equipped temp systems get 2 different type of filter elements: screen and filter respectively - as the trend in the last few posts kind of shows. UPDATE: my "auto" in fact has the filter
-
hmmm... I have the "auto" AC on my 2008 so I am going to look and see what I have as I am now curious lennysbar and bigwiege do you both have "manual" AC then to confirm what dealer told bigwiege?

Rear Bumper protector
Lex Talionis replied to Kanatronic's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
but you did not have LED lights in the day.. that can make all the difference in those.. I added LED lights on plunger pins in the glove box and center console, so just for grins, I might try adding one to the engine bay as it would be a piece of cake. could be another fun project -
damn.. looks darn right nasty to me

I would guess it is here as this is the one talked about long ago

Installing Backup Camera
Lex Talionis replied to cjbates's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
oh man.. akriby is gonna have a fit if he reads this and knows you can interact with your nav screen like that while driving :shades: -
is there any doubt this will happen.. come on, it is like a law of the universe, you can never recreate "the sound" while at the dealer that you hear everyday

anyone dumb enough to take a 'Ford" emblem should be on Worlds Dumbest Criminals... ha ha ha, it is not like a Mercedes emblem "yo yo yo.. watch me steal that Ford emblem kid.. that Ford emblem is TIGHT"

there are several threads here on adding a sub in the same place sans custom enclosure and even a few that have built nice custom enclosures. Also, I have not read of anyone adding more than 1 speaker into the door panels. people have added dash mounted or remote tweeters, but not more than 1 speaker in a door. see my gallery for some inner photos of the door panels to see what kind of room you are working with. If you are some kind of fabricator and do that kind of stuff, you might be able to do it. but no one here has to my knowledge.. though many of us have swapped everything from speakers to subs to head units.

if you look back threw the topics on the BAMR vista control roof light mod, there was some further discussion on other switches that could be altered.. IIRC, those others could not given their wiring diagram and the simple fact they did not have bulbs built in (like the BAMR controls do). also IIRC, you could buy some MKX switches there do have lightening but then you have those off colored switches.. some of this is just from memory, but a few of us did investigate it.

Installing Backup Camera
Lex Talionis replied to cjbates's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
you routed wires exactly as I did. nice diagram! my conversion unit that allows me to attach a camera to a factory nav has the ability to attach a switch so I could flip the switch and have the rear camera on at all times as opposed to just when in reverse - I did not hook it up. you seems to have something similar "I even drove around today with the camera on so I could keep an eye on everyone behind me".. how do you activate it on yours while driving? -
I got same email I also sent him sizes rear can be removed IIRC when I was installing my camera I am sure I saw threaded bolts.. the front, never looked but think it 'might' be part of the grill itself. you can see some of the decals here, I cant recall whom exactly, but one kat with the all murdered edge has them in black and a black vinyl covered grill and fogs.

Ignition Key Ring Light?
Lex Talionis replied to Lex Talionis's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I thought of the transplant also from another ignition from diff car. cig lighter itself is much smaller diameter, but a ring around a cig lighter could be a decent idea... but also need a transplant. -
thanks for that link... but still, the filler door that is already is in the fuel pipe will now just be what, 1.5" or less lower, relative to the nozzle, than it would be since that is about how thick the cap is above the lip? and so you have come across nozzles that cannot reach that extra depth and actuate the door? now the thing this does point out, which might be the killer for me, is that it says "Not recommended with vapor hooded nozzles. On hooded nozzles you may need to hold the nozzle in position to refuel properly or remove the cap and refuel without using the InStant Fill cap" - they show the device being used with a nozzle with no vapor hood. well, when I think about it, I cannot think of the last time I came across a station that did NOT have vapor hoods. thus, making this device a possible PITA to use if it cannot be correctly used with the very ubiquitous vapor hood. that actually really surprises me.
