rust - I have not seen this.. but if I follow you, it is something I complained about long ago here. a design flaw I would say as the plastic facia on the inside facing of the door holds water. ever notice after a rain or car washing when you open the door water splashes out? I narrowed it down to those fascias and they have a lip and design that catches the water and does not drain it off.. so it pools up... so viola

Help!!!! Brushed Aluminum Panel
Lex Talionis replied to erich9's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
not model year change as much, IIRC, the difference between models.. the Limited has solid brushed while the lower models have the lines -
do the google search I said.. what you want does exist
-
do a Goolge on "ford edge door sill" and you will see these stock Ford ones I speak of - and several other options that offer even more protection.. and yes, you could change what you have OR add additional protection types as for all the mods.. search here as every single one of them is covered 'somewhere' in these forums spread out, but all here

/* Hijack on well, they are all listed in my signature, but if you wanted an order to the top ones I think are must do's: 1. tint windows 2. speakers 3. LED bulbs 4. HID lights 5. BAMR control panel light mod 6. bumper guard/saver 7. backup camera this sounds about right for ones I find really useful routinely.. I love all the mods I have done.. some are really legit useful, some are just because I wanted to see if I could do them. Hijack off */

the Limited actually has them.. nice and metal/chrome... maybe you can go to Ford and see about getting the matching part# and doing a quick swap.

POW! anyway, consider some of the DVD headrests seen here... they are close to looking the same, totally different style of design AND you get DVD in them. search the forums, you can find that and they range a lot in price and you might like those better... maybe just do not hook up the dvd players

I would not be that thrilled about these... ever tried to tint a window, it is a this could be similar did you contact and read this thread he did tails and I bet can do HL if you really wanted.

"to remove the headrests, simply straighten the outermost end of a paperclip, raise the headrest to its uppermost position, insert the paperclip into the small hole on the plastic headrest guide, and press firmly while pulling upwards on the headrest. "

Curt Hitch vs Draw Tite
Lex Talionis replied to mradin's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I cannot comment on the diff per se.. I would say 90% of the people here have the Curt. which kind of says something. 1 photo in my gallery. I would NOT want one that goes into the fascia so the fascia has to be cut... below looks/is awesome. now, I do recall, not sure what brand (HH??) and it is mentioned in a different hitch thread, that only uses 4 bolts to attach the hitch. Curt uses 6 bolts and thus, requires you to drill 2 new holes. So, that is effort/time for install BUT is also a bit more stable. -

Help!!!! Brushed Aluminum Panel
Lex Talionis replied to erich9's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
BUT "This does have some scratches on the top of the silver part." the auction states plus, he only needs the silver part.. not the whole unit so I would, before I spent any money, try scratch remover or Google options for removing scratches from that aluminum piece. -
AVIC-F900BT JL Audio Stealthbox (installed) Pioneer 300watt AMP (installed) all of these could be photo worthy

this is an idea, not sure if it will work or not or make matter worse, someone else might chime in... but what about that micro scratch remover product you use on your car body paint? Mcguires makes some called Scratch X... I have had it do some amazing things on paint repair and wonder, since it is at a micro level and does not damage other paint around the scratch or swirl, it would work for you also. -
got a photo of this 'screen'? we have seen the filter, but I am curious to see the screen.

DashMat Brand Dash Cover
Lex Talionis replied to dadrett's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
glad you took my bait so, you want to keep the dash nice looking so you cover it with a cover that never comes of so it is nice looking underneath... never to be seen.. that has always seemed a rather bizarre product to me. a device to protect the dash so it looks good, but you can never see the dash since it is covered, so who cares what it looks like as you never unveil its beauty to the world so what, do people with dash covers peak under the cover every now and then and be like, "ahhhh what beautiful dash" this is the same theory I apply to "bras" for cars. -

Update on Steeda CAI and Gibson mods
Lex Talionis replied to Edge184's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
mpg seems low, but driving a constant 80-90 mph?? lead foot!! the tone of the post feels like you feel very "so so" about the whole deal -
Anyone else notice how much.... funk.. gets caught up in those nylon/felt window glass 'debris catchers'? (Not even sure what they are called) When your sitting in your Edge and look at the where the glass meets the door trim panel ever notice how much funk is trapped in there. I have never seen it like this on another vehicle I have owned. They are like lint traps. Maybe my cars in the past had the trim panel up higher and just hid this ugliness from view, but in the Edge it is like a 2 foot long perfect line of debris and funk you can see since the inner trim panel is mounted lower than these 'debris catchers' so from the inside, you see the scrubbers at work AND the funk they have caught. And, since it is down lower than flush level, it is really not that easy to get down in there and dig that crap out (unless maybe you remember to roll you window all the way down and flick it out). Seems like a bit of a design flaw in that you should simply not see these, they should be hidden from view as no matter how nice you clean up and detail your car.... there is that funk behind the glass on display for you to look at and admire. Understand what I am talking about or is a photo required?

do this change, go back and try and see if it reports a different route than in the past.. I would be very curious
-
good tips.. but it would also skew the arrival ETA time data a bit as you have inflated your actual driving speed.. and at times, that might matter
-
oh yes... but sorry, you would have to search back through this thread for specifics, and IIRC I give some pretty good specifics.. I just do not have them handy, but they are here I did: front 2 map lights, middle 3 dome lights, 1 rear cargo light, license plate lights, custom puddle lamp lights + custom LED center console & glove box lights
