  1. so that makes it tough to use a cargo floor mat like WeatherTech?
  2. hey man.. these are not SUVs... they are CUVs.. technically speaking
  3. wow.. that almost looks like a bad Photochop job also, it seems, if you look real close, it almost seems like there is a vague outline - like a repair outline - of a slightly different color right around that hole. can you see that?
  4. I would say no "mute" since we have no mute function per se - just turn volume all the way down is our mute - so I would suspect you could not achieve prepare setting so that every time it 'muted' the stereo - turning volume all the way down - rather than just turning volume down a few notches.
  5. you could also use one made for a motorcycle.. pretty similar in design and size. 'maybe' not as fit perfect and price is about the same so I would likely do this Ford specific one.. but just an FYI to consider on the 2009, what makes the cargo net specific to the 2009? does the 2009 floor have holes or attachments built in for the hooks? or does it just wrap around and attach to itself?
  6. I have seen this issue mentioned before here.. do not recall a fix, but it has come up before in the past mine works properly, kind of like FSUFetch
  7. such a sucker for this type of stuff  .. for better or worse, I pulled the trigger today on one of that guys keys. I will see - and post up - about the key, quality, programming, and getting it cut whenever I get it.
  8. search will reveal everything you ever wanted to know on this mod - part #, tips, pictures - right here
  9. 'potential' airbag injuries are well documented... but I will take them any day of the week over the alternative.
  10. I got one of those nice "upgraded" paint jobs... to bad it is one of the worst paint jobs I have personally ever seen on a car. looks good, until you get close and see missing paint, exposed primer, dozens of dirt and debris and whatnot spots under the paint. even had the hood replaced since missing paint and rust developed. I do love the color, but the quality is weak. kind of funny I paid more for it. in 2008 mine was like $495 for the "White Sand Tri-Coat"
  11. yep, familiar with drain holes... but, don't you think the speakers sit high enough as to not actually get exposed to water in any way in that scenario? But, I feel your overall point, but not one I would personally worry much about - at least not enough to try to protect them beyond how they are now. I will be curious to see what you come up with for an exclosure, and if you use the parted out stock enclosure, seems you got the skills to make something usable for your need.
  12. Iowa Well, we know 2007-2009 has the hood stick. drilling is not much, but is like 8 holes I recall, 2 per each base and 4 bases. it only takes time since you want to go slow on the drilling
  13. would that not deaden the sound and muffle it? mine will not get that dirty, I keep my car pretty clean and not exposed to that much dust/debris where I live/drive. never even thought about it before as I think it is a losing proposition as in the end, there are still enough holes, it will get in.
  14. only person I have seen here who really sells and makes a legit CAI system for the Edge is Steeda. Search here on Steeda, read up on it, I think someone is even selling one. But I have never seen K&N do an actual CAI kit, only the drop in filter - which is what I have.
  15. LED seller of the cool style I used was "mlochridge" I wonder, using the mercury, if the light came on and off going up and down hills or sudden stops
  16. I would not even think twice about the cold being an issue. not even. I had struts like this - air/oil - in my Acura for 10 years in the midwest - can you say COLD - holding up my boot and they never failed. these are more advanced, seem higher quality and hold even less weight.
  17. I would say no way. that piece is made to fold away, nothing behind it to anchor to. and IF you found a way to do it, would you want a hand rail imprint on/in your face if the bag deployed :shades:
  18. if you look real close, it seems like there is 1 fold away version for the front seat passengers side in the ceiling? I use to love mine in my VW. wish I had them. But I think a retrofit is going to be tough - maybe less tough for the rear seats as I do not think there are airbags in the rear pillars, but frankly, who cares about them for the backseat people but hard to say unless one tries.
  19. not seen anyone here. I assume you mean on the inside on the pillar for drive and passenger? if so, hard to do as those have air bags under them. imagine that scenario :o maybe you could do in the roof liner, IF you can find something to attache to, but I doubt it.
  20. you know, one of the ones I have also had on my drawing board, is adding LED lights to the engine bay so when you pop the hood, viola, some LEDs come on and light the way. they are small, run cool, put out a lot of light for very little power, cheap, and are a natural addition if you like light. they could either be on a throw switch so you can turn them on or off or on a pin switch so no matter what, once you pop the hood, there you go. could be up under the hood facing down or down in engine bay facing inwards.
  21. yes, I have to agree, it is a small mod, but one of the more useful. you will use it nearly every night and now that I have it, I cannot imagine not having it.
  22. nice.. did you see mine by chance? back in april I put in pin switches - so they are auto on and off - and LED lights in the center console and the glove box as they are both total deadzones did you put quick release connectors inline wiring for the door panel lights?
