  1. of course I was joking as for air horns.. the compressor, which comes with, is a piece of cake. self contained. if you do new horns, you would have to do horns, likely the relays, wiring and so adding the compressor is not much more. http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/...n&Submit=Go I have the one in the upper left.. not on my edge mind you. inexpensive, easy to install and plenty of HONK
  2. dealer claims mine came in today.. cross my fingers they ordered the right 2 parts as you never know. Guess I will post back up and if it is correct, will add photos of B/A
  3. oh yeah.. your the dude that uses a stick to push his navi buttons btw... cool mod, something new.
  4. get something like this and you can have musical horns, record your own, or have a PA to yell at people anyway, I have replaced horns - as yes, there are 2 in your car, a high and low on opposite sides of the radiator area typically. I replaced on in my FJ40 for air horns... no missing them, but it has a Chevy 350 so loud engine to overcome. tapping into your current horn relay/wiring is really the tricky part. can't recall seeing anyone here yet do horn swap
  5. as an example... so many people have had "the burning smell issue" PTU seal - the #1 topic here (32 pages, 57000 views & imagine those that do not visit this site and just go to the dealer) and I wonder why this warranted a letter, first time I have ever heard of this heater core issue, and that major seal issue costing them - and owners - a ton of money to fix, did not? seems if anything should get a letter and warranty extension, it should be because of the PTU seal issue.
  6. got it.. always interesting what makes it get to the point to send a letter. there have been all kinds of issues, as with any car, wonder why this one warranted a letter
  7. yeah, have not looked at price.. but even that aside, didn't see much more benefit to 55w. again, the diff from stock to HID is so huge, 55w was no further benefit in my eye. just because it is a few more dollars does not mean we need it per se. but no harm no foul for either one though. I love the slim ballast form factor, but not needed in this car - plenty of room for regular electronic ballast. but price is so close, I would likely do it.. but not needed
  8. any watt HID kit, 35 or 55, is so much better than stock incandescent light, either watt would be a benefit. I do not think it would be "to much" but I do not think the $ diff is worth 55w or that it will really matter to most. so, I went 35w as it was all better than stock
  9. hey.. how about a photo of that? That I would like to do as I think that our tray is anemic... photo please? you also scored the tray off eBay? is this it, it fits? if so, I need to go that route BUT I would have to mod it as I would have to make a slot for the LED light I installed in the center console.
  10. "just a bit more padding" are you sleeping on it j/k
  11. always fun to do mods.... but I am trying to understand just what you gained by changing lids?
  12. good point about the discerning eye actually, I think we have agreed 3 times now, but I bet we cannot even agree on that
  13. is the paint job suppose to make it cammo so you do not pay attention or is it to say LOOK AT ME, I AM A PROTOTYPE BUT YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO NOTICE not diggin that grill 1 bit and the wrap around turn signal - not into those at all, looks incomplete
  14. ah yes.. I have seen those before, not what I was thinking of. I was thinking somethng was available that was more like the Taurus - also classically seen on the Range Rover. I LOVE this type of grill style
  15. now that seems reasonable, depending on puncture location
  16. decent idea.. I like a plug as you can use a key IF needed. unlikely, but it could happen. But, the idea of swapping a different handle is good. Might watch eBay for a totaled parted out White San Tri Coat.
  17. that looks great! better than I had expected. I wonder what black would look like on my white Edge Hey Mofsteel, where have you seen a billet for the Edge? I like the look of the new Taurus grill.
  18. you guys got it.. simple process really. as for getting to a repair shop for a repair ASAP after using a plug, not me. Again, plugs were the industry standard forever. I had a plug in a tire for 3-4 years. Sold it with the plug it. As far as I know, the new owner is still rolling with it. Costco did that plug for me as that was what was used then and they offered it for free since I bought tires then. A plug, if done right, will last the life of a tire no problem. no reason to also go get a patch IMHO. if they worked for life before, they did not stop working since patches came out.
  19. didn't know plugs were stopped in usage.. and do not care to much that they were. I carry a plug kit - the industry standard forever that now seems to be fallen out of favor - but still works fine. Bet the guys in backwoods towns still use plugs. Anyway.. at least with a plug kit, you can pull off a self repair if needed since you do not have to take the tire off the rim or wheel off the car.
  20. I was going to say ask Securinu - seems he already gave his opnion
  21. pretty good price IIRC. use eBay or amazon as a comparison.
