  1. I would consider some bodyside protection for your edge since body side moldings are becomimg a thing of the past. I have an 08 Edge LTD dark blue and an 06 Avalon XLS (indigo ink)- I had the color keyed body side moldings installed on both of them and am glad I did. The color match is spot on and I have received many compliments on them. Got them from sportwing.com. Other than that possibly think about a bumper protector ( I dont have one), it seems to make a lot of sense. Good luck.
  2. If anyone knows about illuminated kick plates or sill protectors that are for the Edge, would you please post the information? I saw these on the new Murano and they looked great. Illuminate in red when the door opens. I think Hyundai also has something similar for the Veracruz. These really look great at night.
  3. Catch-all makes the rubber mats besides their fitted carpeted mats.
  4. Nice ride, I really like the copper/camel combo. You might also want to consider adding some body side moldings. Got mine from Sportwing.com. Perfect fit and color match. I had them installed by a detailing shop because I didnt trust myself. I think they look great and are functional as well. I also hope you have more than the factory carpeted mats - if not then try some black rubber mats from Ford or some other aftermarket product. Good luck, hope you get to drive it sometime also.
  5. I am not a big fan of the bumper guard either. But I think if you really need a bumper guard for whatever reason then this is probably as good as it gets. Good luck with your Edge.
  6. I have the same problem on my 08 LTD. I am sure its the rear middle seat belt. Makes the flapping noise just as you described when the window is open. I assume that is what you mean. Good luck.
  7. Doesn't Garmin make some sort of an extra cost mounting system? I saw it on Bestbuy.com. Supposed to swivel too. Looks good, does anyone know about this? I was also thinking of a Garmin nav system but was not too enthusiastic about the windshield suction cup or dashboard sticky mount.
  8. I have just noticed that the recently produced Edge's do not have this on the window sticker. It says steering wheel mounted audio and cruise only. I really think FMC really reads this stuff. Although ever so small - we did make a difference.
  9. There is nothing like that on my steering wheel. Sync buttons are there on the lower right. Ford needs to change that sticker now. I really thought I was going to get climate controls on the steering wheel. Thanks for the info on the 08 deletion of this feature. But so far otherwise - I would highly recommend the Edge.
  10. Can anyone help me here. I have an 08 Ltd and I noticed that on my sticker (and every other one that I have checked), it says "Leather covered steering wheel with audio and climate controls". I have read the manual and have been looking carefully for the last month. I don't see any climate controls on the steering wheel. Did I misunderstand what it is supposed to be, my 06 Toyota actually has these controls on the steering wheel.
  11. Mine is 08 dk blue w camel interior. I have the factory carpeted mats along with the optional all weather rubber mats on top of them. Seems to be working out ok. In the summer I plan to remove the rubber and factory carpeted mats and replace them with the catch-all carpeted all weather moulded mats in black for the summer months. I just think this is a better combination for the warm weather months when flip flops and sandals are in order most of the time. I like the black due to the contrast with the camel seats and also due to its ability to hide dirt. I've done this in my 2 explorers as well and it seems to work out well. As for the cargo area there are 2 schools of thought. The weathertech for ultimate protection of course, or the catch-all carpeted liner if that kind of protection is not needed. I also think the carpeted cargo liner keeps things quieter back there as well, the edge has a lip as well to protect against spills. Either way, you cant go wrong.
  12. I actually have this as a "factory added accessory" for $115 option. I took it out the very first day in disappointment and put it in my closet because I don't want anyone else to see it. Talk about stupid. Rubber bands with plastic hooks!! Yikes, Ford execs need to pull this one off the plate real quick. Bad idea guys and gals.
  13. I was driving also. Morning drive time, headlights on if that makes a difference.
  14. I just had the painted side moldings from Sport Wing installed on my 08 ltd dark ink blue. I can't post any pictures at this time - we haven't had a sunny day since I can remember and the dark color would never show up well in a photo. They were a perfect match and really look nice IMO. I would highly recommend these since they are not available from the factory. Will post a photo as soon as I can get it washed and the sun is shining again (will also have to borrow a dig camera).
  15. Thanks Lex... BTW Your Edge looks great!
  16. As a rule I dont believe in the supernatural but I just knew I wasn't imagining it!! Thanks for the confirmation. Anyone else have this issue?
  17. Gremlins - not the kind made my American Motors in the 1970 and 80's mind you. My 2 week old Edge LTD without navi - has Sirius. Im driving to work this AM. Listening to the radio, etc. Changed from SAT to FM. When I was on the FM for a few minutes - the radio completely powers off. I didnt touch anything near the radio. I reached over and powered the unit on and everything was fine again. Anyone else have any of these gremlins to report? What's going on here?
  18. My interior is actually camel. I ordered the rear cargo mat by Catch-All. The only choice was Charcoal. Well, to me charcoal means black - right? Go to any ford dealer and order a charcoal interior and you get black seats... Well, anyways my rear cargo mat comes in and the box says "medium gray" on the outside. Before I opened it, I called customer service - they told me that medium gray is what they refer to as charcoal. I pulled them out of the box and what do I see - camel colored rear cargo mats. A perfect match. Even though I wanted the black for contrast - these look fine and who cares, they are really in the trunk anyhow
  19. Clayton -Sorry I dont have a digital camera but I think the fit is great. I am still in the Kodak disposable camera era. Anyways, the color contrast works for me but as I said, individual taste will determine what you buy. Hey if you dont like the way it looks or fits, return it..
  20. Oh one more thing.. Better instrument panel lighting. Hard to see just before the sun sets and rises. Also dim by today's standards. Ford seems to be stuck in the 70's and 80's with the lighting scheme here. Could have done better than this - maybe an ambiene lighting package would have halped? The instrument panel should glow nicely at light - this is but a dim flicker (and yes I know how to turn the switch to the hi position).
  21. These really look great. Were they hard to put on? I am going to order them for my 08 ltd dark inkn blue. This is a "must have."
  22. I agree with the WeatherTech mats - I have had them before. I agree, First rate product and they protect well. Another option to consider - although not a rubber or vinyl type of mat is the Catch-All Carpeted mats. Color is a matter of taste - I have the camel interior and opted for the black Catch-All carpeted mats - depending on where you live - these may be a better choice for the summer or drier months if you prefer the feel of carpet as opposed to rubber or vinyl. I had a set of these in my 99 Explorer EB in camel and loved them, they did get dirty fast though due to the light color. Since the Edge has a black dash that's why I had the mats in black - I think the contrast is nice. I plan to l use my catch-all mats in the summer on top of the factory rubber mats and just leave the factory rubber mats in place for now. Like I said, its a matter of taste - either way these are good products.
  23. Got my Edge on Feb 23rd - Dealer told me there was one year complimentary subscription to Sirius not the 6 months listed on the sticker. I didn't quetion it, just took it.
  24. Having had my Edge ltd AWD for over a week now I can safely say that Ford absolutely has to put the following on a high trim line vehicle: 1. Glove box light - no excuses here! 2. Body side moldings - at least make this an option. 3.Side mirrors need to be with some sort of turn signal indicator either on the outside or in the mirror itself and of course it should be heated if its not. 4.Cargo cover that is actually retractable and appealing to look at. The one currently available is not even worth thinking about. Yes, the current one is better than nothing but thats all. 5.Some sort of cargo logic system like thost on the Murano and new Vibe. 6.Hood prop struts and some sort of an engine cover. What were they thinking about ???
  25. Congrats Lex - Mine just arrived yesterday. I told the deal to put it in the bullpen for now pending any auto show bonus dollars that may be available at the end of the week. I ended up taking the x-plan, also had $1500 Ford rebate + $750 mailer rebate. I will take delivery soon but if auto show dollars are available - I want them since we are so close.
