  1. Does anyone on this forum know the wattage output on the USB port when used as a charger for iPhone, etc.? It has been charging my iPhone fine but just tried to charge iPad and it DOESN'T work. Thought it was possibly the cord so went to purchase a new charger cord from Apple and told the salesperson the problem. He advised the iPhone only needs a 5 watt charger but the iPad needs a 10 watt. Checked owner's manual and did not find any listing of the wattage available from the USB port. With the use of all the electronic now has Ford overlooked this issue? Why have a USB if it is not available for use by all products out there on the market. Specially the popular ones from Apple. Thanks, Gil
  2. Purchased 2013 Edge in Sept 2012 and have been notified of two updates. Live in rural area with very slow internet. Go to download update and computer tells me 8+ hours to download. Had dealer download 1st one no problem. Second update dealer tried twice and did not get download correct as would not update. Downloaded update while visiting son (he lives out of state) who has fast internet and finally able to update. Question...can I request Ford send me updates on pin drive for all future updates? Its a big hassle to get updates now. Also, why doesn't Sync have an automatic time updater for the clock? Seems it would be a very good feature for correct time changes as travel in different time zones as well as change from DST to standard and back again.
  3. Purchased 1st Ford in 1960, so been around awhile. It was a newly introduced model......Ford Falcon 4 door. It was my 2nd car and 1st new one. It was a great little car for a young newly wed just starting a family. Owned several Ford over the years. Just jumped into this century with a 2013 Edge Limited. Jumped, as last car was a 1997 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. This old fart's learning curve is not what it was so taking time to get use to using voice commands on Ford Sync verses pushing buttoms and turning on switches. May have some questions as I get accustomed to this new technology. Always been a do-it-yourselfer and it appears this new Edge does not give you much to work on unless you are a trained tech. Anyone do their own oil changes or other minor work on their cars? Let know what you can do with these new cars, if anything. Looking forward to reading and learning about everyone experience with their Edge and this new technology. Regards, and be good to yourself, and others, Gil
