I own a 2007 Ford Edge SEL with 98K miles. The PTU failed and was replaced by the Ford dealer yesterday. I was not surprised by this as I have been reading about PTU problems here and other places since I experienced the PTU seal leak "smell" shortly after I bought this SUV in May of 2010 at about 55K miles. I had the seal replaced once, but continued to notice the smell as it came and went. I had it back twice for leak checks, but the dealer claimed it was not leaking. I talked to a lawyer with the SeegerWeiss law firm today to get my Ford Edge experience on record for their potential class action suit.
