  1. The path to follow from the Main Menu on the instrument cluster's left-side multifunction display is: Settings > Vehicle Settings > Vehicle > Easy Entry / Exit > On or Off. Good luck!
  2. Official Ford & Lincoln dealership locator & inventory search links, by state/city or province/city: USA Ford; USA Lincoln; Canada Ford & Lincoln English Francais. Good luck! ( akirby: Is this worthy of being Pinned for ongoing visibility and usage? Thanks!)

Regarding interior/exterior colors: Canyon premium package leather seats in the MKX are a reddish saddle tan on front, back, and sides, with black accent piping. This interior is offered with White Platinum Metallic Tri-coat. 2013 MKX Brochure.pdf Good luck!

    Mud Guards

I installed these low-priced mud flaps on the front and rear of my MKX. These are flat pieces of plain black plastic that did not require any cutting to properly fit and their outer finish matches the black cladding of the MKX. It was necessary to do some measuring of the MKX's existing screw holes in order to drill properly-located mounting holes in the mud flaps. They mounted securely using only two of the existing screws inside the wheelwell, which was satisfying because I wanted to avoid drilling any additional holes in my MKX. They are a thrifty solution that protect the bodysides and rear valance of my MKX. Good luck !
  8. divaluxe: While I don't find the same Recirculated Air description in your 2013 Edge Owners Guide, my 2012 MKX Owners Guide states... "Recirculated air engages automatically when MAX A/C is selected or can be engaged manually in any airflow mode except (defrost). Recirculated air may turn off automatically in all airflow modes except MAX A/C to reduce fog potential." Your description -- "the cabin instantly fills up with exhaust fumes" -- is cause for concern if it's your Edge's exhaust, unless you're describing the effects of surrounding vehicles while driving in LA's stop-and-go traffic. I've never sensed my own exhaust fumes in the cabin of my MKX while driving, or even after leaving my MKX's engine running in the driveway for 45 minutes while installing Sync software updates. Perhaps like you, I use the Recirculated Air button to avoid cabin odor when following a diesel truck or as I approach someone burning fallen leaves in their yard. And also like your Edge, consistent with the description in the quoted Owners Guide, my Recirculated Air effect automatically reverts to outside air after some passage of time. Running MAX A/C full time should allow avoidance of all odors, but it'll cost you by reducing your fuel economy. Good luck!

  10. From Ford's Accessories website; Hitch part number: BT4Z-19D520-A ; Wiring Harness part number: DT4Z-15A416-A Hitch assembly illustration is viewable on Ford Parts website. You may already know that the factory-installed Trailer Tow Package also includes a larger radiator with upsized electric cooling fans and modified AdvanceTrac/Roll Stability Control system programming to recognize & overcome any trailer sway behavior. Good luck!

  13. On my 2012 MKX, I repeatedly experienced this same Battery Saver System - Off problem prior to my installing the two most recent updates to the Sync / MyFord Touch / MyLincoln Touch operating system. For me, the previously suggested remedies did not permanently correct this sporadic problem. Installing the latest update, Sync VersionGen2 - V3.2.2, has totally eliminated the "Battery Saver System - Off" problem.
  14. SoCalEdge2012 & Prinzll: Since they apparently lack experience with Daytime Running Lights, ask the Service Department at your respective Ford dealerships to contact the Ford Tech Help Line. Ford Edge & Lincoln MKX DRLs are controlled by the Smart Junction Box, an electronic module under the dash. The DRL function can be "enabled" or "disabled" under the "Exterior Lighting" programming menu by the Service Technician using an IDS Scanner with the OBDII connector. As Waldo mentioned, your vehicle may have been a fleet order with the Smart Juction Box programmed as DRL "enabled" at the factory. My local Ford dealer activated the DRLs on my new 2012 MKX equipped with HID headlights, so like Scorpio mentioned, only my amber turn signal bulbs are lit when the MKX transmission is in any gear other than Park. Took the dealer less than 30 minutes to enable mine and they charged me nothing to perform this service. Based on my experience and past DRL discussions I've read on this and other Edge/MKX discussion web sites, there's no reason why your DRLs cannot be "disabled" as long as your dealer is willing to learn how to perform the service from the Ford Tech Help Line and the dealer has the necessary programming tools and connector cable. Good luck!
  15. I experienced a comparable audio-related MFT glitch on my 2012 MKX. Radio would not change to requested input via Touch Screen, as RJG describes, and radio would not immediately shut off after key off/door open event. Negative battery post disconnect/MFT reset cleared the problem initially, and the latest Version 3.2 update has totally eliminated the problem. If you have not already, you may want to download and install the Version 3.2 update that is running trouble-free on my MKX. Good luck!
  16. Recall affects 5,500 vehicles made between Sept. 2, 2010, and Oct. 31, 2011. "Ford will notify owners by mail with instructions to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer. If the vehicle needs to be fixed, the dealer will do the repair for free. The recall is expected to begin on, or about, Sept. 24." http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ford-recalls-2012-ford-edge-160849891.html
  17. Learned about DRL capability through this and other Edge/MKX discussion sites and decided to give them a try. My local Ford dealer agreed to attempt to turn the DRLs on for me, though they hadn't received that request before. The service tech said the programming menu choices are to either "enable" or "disable" the DRLs. Took him less than 30 minutes to do the job and the dealership -- which is not where I purchased my vehicle -- charged me nothing to do the job. With the DRLs "enabled" on my 2012 MKX, the front amber turn signals are lighted full-time when the engine is running and the transmission is not in Park. I am very happy with the results and especially appreciate the non-selling dealer's kindness in not charging me anything for this valuable service.
  18. To route a powercord from the battery to a CB radio on the driver's side of my 2012 MKX, I used a pathway that exists beneath the upper rear of the front fender. The trim piece that is attached at the rear of the front fender, just forward of the door's side mirror, is retained by three plastic push-pins. Carefully prying the trim piece off reveals a small opening in the rear edge of the fender. Next, at the outside end of the cowl top, there is a triangular black rubber cap that can be pryed upward at the front edge and rotated, revealing the underhood-side of this pathway. I fished a piece of coax cable from the front, through the pathway, and then taped my powercord to the coax. Pulled the coax forward carefully, since the pathway is a bit tight. Once the power cord was through the pathway, it could be more easily pushed-pulled through to adjust the length and to connect it directly to the battery. The fender trim piece was pushed back into place on top of the powercord once the underhood wiring was complete. I routed the powercord into the cabin by pulling back the front vertical weatherstrip-trim strip outboard of the instrument panel, ran the cord behind it, and pushed the strip gently back into place. Wiring tucks nicely beneath the edges of that strip for additional routing inside the cabin. The powercord is invisible when the door is closed and the installation caused no additional wind noise.
