  1. 2017 Ford Edge alloy wheel fitment guide, includes standard & optional wheel data. Makes & models with 5 x 4.25 bolt circle reference, though you'll have to survey the model data for dimensional compatibility of wheel size/center bore/offset. Good luck!
  2. FORScan Lite's descriptor for the U3003 Digital Trouble Code is consistent with the 2018 Edge/MKX Workshop Manual, which provides a diagnostic procedure to test potential fault sources, including wiring, terminals and connectors, battery, charging system, and the affected module(s). The procedure does note that the code may be stored in the module memory due to past battery charging or vehicle jump-starting events, which may be indicated by charging system DTCs stored in other modules' memories. Because the Edge is recently new-to-you and you cannot be sure if any prior owner action may have triggered the code, and, warranty coverage still exists on the vehicle, I would have the dealer check it out, if for no other reason than to document the fault existing before the warranty expires, just in case it reoccurs. 3. Sorry, I'm a Duratec owner, which you may say, explains a lot. Good luck!
  4. For those who prefer a metal component with comparable functionality -- though at a higher price -- Fumoto valves are discounted by some online retailers. Good luck!

  7. Link to past Forum discussion on Gen-2 Cabin Air Filter Cover tabs/screws. I have a new-found appreciation for the Gen-1 cover, which is effectively a slab of plastic with a large tab that engages into a slot in the housing on the passenger side, and uses a molded-in latching tab for retention on the driver side... Good luck!
  8. Two retaining screws are called out in the 2018 Edge Workshop Manual, but no fastener size nor torque spec is provided... Cabin Air Filter Removal and Installation - 2018 Edge Workshop Manual.pdf (download link) I checked my Gen-1 2015 MKX, but its cabin filter cover uses a spring-action plastic tab as a retainer, instead of screws. Buying a pair each of #4, #6, and #8, by half-inch long, phillips-head sheet metal screws from your local hardware store's fastener drawers will likely get the job done, judging by this YouTube video screen capture... Good luck!
  9. It's fair to say that the formatting of the previously posted Workshop Manual procedures diminished their clarity. I've reformatted the documents and I hope the step-by-step instructions for component removal and component re-installation are more understandable. Download links to the reformatted PDF documents are included below, and I've also revised the download links in my earlier post to serve-up the reformatted Workshop Manual PDFs. 2016 Edge - Liftgate Interior Trim Panel Removal and Installation - Workshop Manual - Reformatted.pdf (download link) 2016 Edge - Exterior Reversing Lamp Assembly Removal and Installation - Workshop Manual - Reformatted.pdf (download link) Good luck!

  11. On those occasions when your 2011 MKX's liftgate stops short of the full height of its travel, is it sounding a continuous chime warning when it stops and/or as it lowers slightly? I experienced this symptom on my 2012 MKX and replacing the struts eliminated the problem. Per the 2011 Edge/MKX Workshop Manual... The Liftgate/Trunk Module requests a continuous chime during a power close immediately after a power open under the following conditions: there is excessive weight, such as snow, ice or a bicycle rack, on the liftgate. worn/damaged liftgate assist cylinders. the Liftgate/Trunk Module incorrectly learned the full open position during the power liftgate initialization procedure. Because your MKX is new-to-you, and, per the third bullet point immediately above, it doesn't cost you anything to perform the Liftgate Initialization procedure... 14. Because front receivers are typically produced for trucks and other off-road vehicles, I was surprised to find a front receiver produced and available for the Edge, though it is stated to fit only non-Ecoboost 2011-13 models. Curt Manufacturing's website shows their Edge front receiver as still available while quantities last, implying production of this front receiver has been discontinued. The last inclusion of this Edge front receiver in Curt Manufacturing's published catalogs was in 2019, so presumably demand was low and updating its fit to later models did not occur. A search of the Web shows many online retailers selling this Edge front receiver at prices much lower than Curt Manufacturing's website suggested retail price. My 2015 (GEN-1+Facelift) MKX's front lower bumper crossmember and subframe appear identical to the mounting surface photos shown in Curt Manufacturing's installation manual (PDF direct download link). Additionally, front subframe service part numbers are identical among GEN-1+Facelift Edge (2011-2014) non-Ecoboost & MKX (2011-2015) models. In a couple of months, I will likely purchase this front receiver, in order to eventually be pushing (instead of backing) my boat into the garage. Once I receive it, I'll update this post with comparative dimensions, especially of mounting holes, in case any other Forum member is contemplating a purchase. For Gardenman, a local welding/fabricating shop may be able to revise the mounting brackets of this receiver to fit your 2018 Edge, which I expect would be less expensive than having them custom-fabricate a front receiver for you. Good luck!
  15. Perhaps you are taking your town's slogan too literally. Good luck!
  16. I've always been intrigued by those. How does the tent's interior length compare to potentially sleeping inside the Edge, with the front seats moved fully forward. with the second row folded down, combined with the cargo area, perhaps using something like this? Good luck!
  17. It is NOT the case that 2011 or newer Edge/MKX wheels will fit your 2010 Edge, because those newer wheels have a center bore that is SMALLER than your 2010 Edge's hub spigot. If you are seeking Ford-Lincoln factory wheels to install without having the center bore enlarged, only those from 2006-2010 Edge & MKX will fit. From wheel-size.com ... Good luck!
  18. From the online 2020 Edge Workshop Manual, edited and with emphasis added, explaining the “little dancing” headlights caused by the Headlamp Leveling system initialization, and also, the redundancy of Adaptive Headlamps’ Information Display setting, due to Autolamps headlight switch positional requirement for Adaptive Headlamps system operation… Headlamps [ and ] Automatic Headlamp Leveling For base and mid series headlamps, the LED headlamp system consists of a non-replaceable low and high beam Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that are focused through a single projector lens. For high series headlamps, the LED headlamp system consists of a non-replaceable low and high beam Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that are focused through a single projector lens and additional high beam Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that are focused through a separate smaller lens inboard of the main lens. The mid and high series headlamps may be equipped with automatic headlamp leveling. The headlamp beam height is automatically adjusted according to vehicle load, speed, acceleration and braking. Automatic headlamp leveling is activated when the headlamp switch is in the HEADLAMPS or AUTOLAMPS position. When the Adaptive Front Lighting Module first receives voltage when the ignition is ON, the and Adaptive Front Lighting Module commands the headlamps up and down to initialize the system. During the initialization, the HCM runs diagnostics on the system and set Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for applicable system faults. The high series headlamps are equipped with adaptive front lighting. Depending on the inputs received (steering wheel angle and vehicle speed for example), the adaptive front lighting module can command the angle at which the headlamps are aimed (left or right) to improve nighttime visibility around curves. Adaptive front lighting is only activated when the headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS position. Good luck!
  19. Wheel-Size.com advises the following tire & wheel sizes for 2010 Edge... Using the website's search-by-wheel-size feature, the only Ford/Lincoln factory-installed wheels that fit are from 2006-2010 Edge and MKX, likely due to the wheels' 70.5 mm center bore being reduced to to 63.4 mm on 2011 and later model years. By year and model, your choices are... 2007 Edge 2008 Edge 2009 Edge 2010 Edge 2008 & 2009 MKX 2010 MKX You may want to try Car-Part.com's search engine to select used wheels by model year and/or specific wheel size/design in your area or nationwide. 20. This past discussion very thoroughly describes the roof rail installation process. Good luck!
  21. I shared info on this subject in this prior post, and will add more on my experience, here, now that the work is done. Our 2015 MKX cooling system upgrade was done using dealer-sourced Motorcraft radiator ($213) & cooling fans ($328) to gain the 2-year parts and labor warranty on those components, and I supplied an add-on transmission fluid cooler ($54), 1/2" ID transmission cooler hose ($40/8 ft), and cooler mounts ($5). Installation labor for all that and a wiring upgrade for the higher-amp cooling fans was 7 hours ($700). Because the 26,000 miles MKX was new-to-me, and I want to maximize the life of its original internal water pump, I also had them flush and refill with new engine coolant. Including a few minor parts (hose clamps, connector, fuse), but not including sales tax, the total bill was just over $1,300. I was fortunate that a prior owner paid to have the Motorcraft hitch bar ($210)and trailer wiring kit ($92) installed by his dealership (labor cost unknown), and all this demonstrates the bargain that a factory-installed Tow Package ($510 in 2015) represents. Good luck!
  22. North American-market Edges with the factory-installed Tow Package do include trailer wiring and a 4-pin connector with a removable rubber cap... ...which, in this illustration looking from underneath and toward the back, slides into a bracket attached to the factory-installed hitch (yellow-outlined red arrow)... ...with the connector visible just beneath the rear valance panel to the left of the of the 2 x 2 receiver box (yellow arrow) on these of 2016 Edge SELs... The factory 4-pin connector’s wiring should be a ribbon of four wires color-coded & functioning as… If the trailer wiring is the dealer-installed Ford accessory kit, it may have a ribbon of four wires (white, black, yellow and green) leading to the 4-pin connector, along with a Ford logo on the rubber cap. Good luck!
