Jun 15 2022 2021 Edge Front Camera Concerns after OTA update or SYNC update Concerns started with OTAs released/retrieved on 05/04/2022. Customers also reported the issue after the FSA 22S14 is performed. The camera will work if you activate it with the button. After driving, the camera button works until the vehicle speeds exceeds 9mph - 15km/h. After coming to a stop, you cannot activate the camera again until the vehicle is restarted with an ignition cycle or a SYNC soft reset / 2-button reset. This concern can be induced by the latest SYNC SW via OTA update or FSA/recall SW update. Do Not attempt to diagnose the concern. Replacing the camera or module(s) will not address the condition. This is a normal condition after software release 3.4.21020 or later. Covering the sunload sensor to eliminate any ambient light to verify brightness adjustment is recommended to test the feature if needed. No repairs should be attempted to address this condition. You are kind and generous in your reply, but I have served you poorly by commenting off the top of my head, without referencing the Workshop Manual. From the 2022 Edge Workshop Manual, on Push Button Start operation, modes of ignition readiness, and LED ignition mode indicator behavior... Ignition Switch - Push Button Start The ignition switch - push button start (engine start/stop button) is a momentary contact switch that is hardwired to the BCM and the PCM . The ignition switch - push button start is used to obtain the OFF, ON or START ignition modes. Push Button Ignition Switch The push button ignition switch is used to control the ignition mode. Ignition Entry Condition Desired Ignition Mode Action To Take Off ON (engine off) Press the START/STOP button without applying the brake pedal. Off or on START Apply the brake pedal and then press the START/STOP button. On (engine off) OFF Press the START/STOP button. On (engine running) OFF Press the START/STOP button. Ignition Mode LED Indicator The ignition mode LED indicates the ignition mode of the vehicle. The BCM controls the voltage to the ignition mode LED indicator. Refer to the following table. Ignition Mode Ignition Mode LED Indicator Off Off On (engine off) Flashing On (engine running) On OFF When the ignition is in the ON mode, a single press and release of the START/STOP button (without applying the brake pedal) changes the ignition to the OFF mode. Sorry, I don't have access to any dimensional data on the LED turn signal component, or any CAD document. Because I was focused on new mirror sellers and their pricing, I have neglected to ask you these few questions... Have you verified that power is being delivered through the harness to the mirror's LED strip when the left turn signal is operating Have you applied continuous power to the LED strip, via appropriate pins in the mirror's connector, to verify that it is absolutely not working? Have you used a diagnostic scan tool to see if any turn-signal related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored in your Edge's electrical modules? The first momentary push of the button is Accessory Mode, the second momentary push of the button is Ignition Mode, during which the warning light icons in the gauge cluster should light up and you may hear several chime tones that subsequently go quiet, while some of the gauge cluster warning light icons will stay lit, until a third momentary push of the button shuts everything back off. Judging by the body-color door handle in your mirror photo, I expect your Edge is an SEL, Limited, or Sport. Looking at your Edge's possible mirror attributes provides a similar judgement, with the driver memory capability being the only likely feature either included or not included in your existing mirror... Since you mention replacement cost as being absurd in Brazil, one path for you may be to buy a new Ford OEM mirror with the LED turn signal indicator, but without the BLIS monitoring mirror face, and then change over the BLIS-capable wiring harness and mirror face from your existing mirror into the new mirror shell, keeping the new power mirror motor, presuming it has driver memory function, if your Edge requires it. You then could also remove the body-color cap from the top/front of your existing mirror and install it on the new mirror shell, eliminating the need for painting the new mirror. This Ford OEM mirror assembly is candidate for this cost-saving strategy. Its cost is surprising low (by U.S. standards), if the power/puddle lamp/driver memory/heated/LED turn signal feature list is accurate... It's worth noting the risk that something could be broken during the changing over of components from your Edge's existing mirror to new Ford OEM mirror. The other path you could choose would be to buy an aftermarket mirror assembly with the full list of features your Edge's existing mirror has. As you mention, Ford just extended to November 30, 2022 the Customer Satisfaction Program (19B37, 21N12) for coolant intrusion on the 1.5L Ecoboost in certain 2017-2019 Escape & Fusion models with no mileage limit. That Program's refund policy for affected Escape & Fusion owners, per the Owner Extension Letter, is... "If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter, you may be eligible for a refund. Refunds will only be provided for service related to an engine short block or head gasket replacement due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinder bores. The 2011 Edge/MKX Workshop Manual wiring diagram shows the PRNDL of the floor shifter is LED illuminated. The LED is attached to the underside of the Console Cover Panel (78045A76), and has a short wiring harness with a C3617 connector that plugs into a corresponding harness on the console's left side. The Floor Shifter Illumination LED and its wiring harness appear to only be provided in the assembly of the Console Cover Panel. I’ve had the same pinball machine effect occur in the gauge clusters of our 2012 MKX and our 2015 MKX. The 2012 slow-cranked and started, but transitioned to no-crank a few days later. Its seven-year-old original battery tested bad. The 2015 no-cranked with a 3-month-old battery in place. Battery tested bad and was replaced under warranty. Many gauge cluster warnings are low-voltage triggered, and most codes will clear when subsequent key cycles serve up normal voltage. Have the battery tested -- probably a bad cell or bad cells.
