  1. the bypass valve is pretty much a standard feature with all 6F transmissions AFAIK, but the smaller EB engines often have additional/weird componentry in the mix.
  2. I believe cd3performance.com is gauging interest in these exact components right now. You can talk to them maybe? Troy Walls is the contact person, he used to post on this forum, but has been a while now.
  3. Let's keep the momentum and the excitement going Lotta love gone into this project!
  4. What a steal! Hope someone cashes in on this deal and quick.
  5. 2015-2016 Edge/MKX And 2013-2016 Explorer/Taurus – Automatic Transmission Fluid Leaking From The PTU Temperature Sensor Some 2015-2016 Edge/MKX and 2013-2016 Explorer/Taurus vehicles may exhibit a condition where automatic transmission fluid (ATF) may appear to be leaking from the power transfer unit (PTU) temperature sensor. ATF in the area of the PTU temperature sensor may be the result of a leaking right hand (RH) intermediate shaft seal deflector. Replacement of the PTU temperature sensor will not resolve this condition. To correct the condition replace the RH intermediate shaft seal. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 308-07.
  6. This may still work for you http://www.therangerstation.com/how-to/body-paint/ford-oval-color-change/
  7. It is on-demand AWD, so maybe that is the disconnect in expectations
  8. Might be the brake booster. Ford has a CSP out for it, if still applicable you will be $0 out of pocket.
  9. LOL! A few more years till the oil companies come exploring then.
  10. LOL, glad the cop had a sense of humor!!!
  11. Rock and a hard place Sorry to hear about the PTU ... There's a bit of emotion attached to "all original" and it hurts a bit to replace even if it is paid for. Believe it or not, we still today have to convince people not to run trans fluid in the PTU!
  12. Congrats on the new ride! Looks pretty sweet Keep it out of potholes and speedbreakers, will ya? LOL.
  13. Any hits these days seem to turn into niggling issues that turn to neverending frustration. Vehicles are better built, yes, but it is all a system. I see this all the time with AWD Edge/MKX damaged in rear-end collisions. Body doesn't look bad at all, but then the AWD components start failing. You made a wise move, IMHO.
  14. Oh man, what a terrible way to go for your MKX, it will be missed on this forum for sure! But as long as you are okay, and you like the Edge , I guess we can move forward. Thanks for posting the PTU service recommendations! If you can post other recommendations from the manual, including oil weight, change frequency, etc. that would be a tremendous addition to our knowledgebase. BTW what color is your Edge Sport?
  15. Its not only mileage but time. Mfrs have moved away from time recommendations with oil, Ford has the IOLM in the Edge that works for 2012+ MYs. But no similar accommodation for other fluids in the vehicle. Yet, all fluids will age just sitting there, yes, they do have a shelf life, even brand new in the bottle. You may have only 38k kms on your vehicle, but the coolant is likely nearly 5 years old!
  16. The cap is supposed to hold pressure (15 psi?). If it has weakened, it will vent early, and lead to coolant loss. We used to replace them sometimes when radiators still had caps
  17. Enjoy the fresh air! The OEM filter has a lot more pleats ...
  18. Great info, as usual! Anybody going through these threads can now see realistic timelines for development of custom products like this. Ain't easy!
  19. Absolutely, checking the battery is a basic yet vital maintenance procedure, I feel, on the Edge/MKX.
  20. Usually it is a calibration issue, a bad wheel speed sensor, or a cracked tone ring that causes this light to pop up. The fact that it is intermittent COULD be a voltage issue (e.g. battery), but yours would be the first case I have seen solved with a new battery.
  21. Diode Dynamics, vLED, JDM ASTAR would be among my top choices. I have had SBLEDs recommended back in the day, may still be good.
  22. No hip room specs for the X series? Rear pass room is definitely better in the Edge compared to the X3 or X5 - headroom, legroom, and shoulderroom.
