Slow acceleration and poor speed 2013 Ecoboost 2.0
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to andreasden77's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
Looking at the 2013 HSE lineup, I do not see the supercharger option. Sport HSE, there is a supercharger option. No turbo however. Used superchargers are going for about $1,500 on eBay. What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Easier on a gen 1.5 than on a gen 1, esp with AWD in the mix. Still may need the Fires of the Forge and Thor's hammer for success. -
Slow acceleration and poor speed 2013 Ecoboost 2.0
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to andreasden77's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
ok, parts suddenly got expensive, LOL. No idea on labor tho. Typical times on a difficult Ecoboost turbo are about 8 hours, and that includes dropping part of the subframe to get to it. I don't expect more than 10 hours really should be charged. -

Not familiar with LR's engines, so can't say about the turbos on them. But on the Edge, the turbo/wastegate is replaced as an assembly. Yes, you could have a shop replace the CHRA or individual parts as needed, but OEM is complete unit only. eBay or Amazon may be of help in locating a wellpriced new turbo if you have the part number for it. -
Welcome and congrats!

The Sport had the only CONFIRMED drain plug at that time, the others also are now confirmed.
-
It is good that LME will work with 3rd party dyno operators to finetune. Normally they are sticklers for working with known dyno equipment, i.e., their own, as they can monitor so much more data in their own shop.
-
The drain plug exists in all PTU-equipped powertrains for the Edge for Gen 2. 2.0 EB, 2.7 EB, and 3.5. Assume the same for the MKX, but no confirmation yet.

2012 Ford Edge AWD PTU Drain Plug job.

Thank you for documenting your experience, it will surely help someone down the line Definitely not 18oz in Edge/MKX ptus until the arrival of Gen 2 units. Bottom of fill hole is fine. More is not better, as excess fluid will cause foaming which will in turn rob lubrication from the gears. Not what you want, and a good way to an early grave for the device. Although I know what you mean here Unless you pulled ALL the ATF out of the PTU, might still be some in there contaminating the PTU fluid. Would advise one more round of PTU fluid R&R before the next service in a year. The factory manual is a truer reference than the printed Chilton's or Haynes books. Chilton Online however seems to be a copy of the Ford manual, so should be reliable. -

Have had wastegates fail on the 2.0EB. Would need turbo replacement to fix. Check to see if there is a P0299 code in the PCM. Alternatively, check for loose turbo hoses causing lack of boost. Without boost, these engines will be put-put power only. Certainly the MAP sensor is worth checking and cleaning, tho no reports of it having issues yet. Sometimes a fuel pump will fail on these powertrains, but I do not believe that to be the issue here. -

cool beans, hope the fixes are "permanent". enjoy your Edge, i know i enjoy mine, every day -
Not seen this in a Ford implementation, and not sure how it adds value if they did do so. Possibly a shorted wire/defective bulb?
-
Sometimes it is hard to tell what comes in the packet/box. The same part number will bring up different items at different part counters. Run into this with fasteners all the time.
-
congrats, and welcome! best of luck with this beauty!

I have bought M1 from WalMart before and the rebates have always been paid even if WM is not listed.
-
18 oz would be way too much for 2007-14 PTUs at least. Fill to bottom of fill hole is the proper limit.
-
sorry to hear about the Edge, hope your wife escaped unscathed! hope someone cashes in on this deal QUICK!
