  1. Ford recommends around 50K miles IIRC on the outside for the 2nd+ coolant change. I consider it the regular interval from the getgo. Sooner, great.
  2. I hate missing out on these custom parts deals, but no Gen 2 in my near future
  3. What year is the engine? Hard to say whether to do the pump or not with such low mileage, but it would give you a known good baseline. Usually I go all in with timing chains and everything, but if doing water pump, do the VCT solenoids also and you should be good for a while.
  4. Check for codes? Dipstick perhaps not fully inserted? Oil level correct? Doubt it's the EOP sensor but could be. Was any other work done at the same time?
  5. How many miles on your Edge? A regular coolant flush routine is a good preventive/preemptive approach. If you can swing the WP/TC/VCT job, go for it, and set yourself a known baseline. I am a bit iffy on the coolant additives that claim to reduce water tension and enhance cooling, but should work great IF you flush the coolant every year at least. Redline Water Wetter, Royal Purple Purple Ice, Amsoil Coolant Boost are among the top additives for this purpose. A colder thermostat is a great idea ... when paired with a tune to adjust the fan operating temperature settings, like 037 mentioned. Usually, the tuner will also set the fans to operate longer when they DO come on, and that helps enhance fan longevity, as opposed to frequent cycling on/off. And with AZ heat, you want fan longevity It will work better than just a coolant additive, for sure.
  6. Does the clicking sound happen even at idle when turning the steering wheel left/right? That could be strut mounts. Perhaps not torqued correctly, even, with any luck. A clicking sound from the CV joint is usually more prominent in turns, but if driving close enough to jersey walls or in a quiet garage, it can be heard, whether in forward or reverse.
  7. Welcome! Make sure Sync is uptodate, then if the camera is still an issue, replace it. You can use Gen 2 cameras for reasonable cost, but will not be able to calibrate. A matter of which pins carry what signals, I believe.
  8. As much as anything else, choice of location of the catch can will prove to be the major difference in what you see collected. Engine bay vs wheelwell. No comparison.

  10. Welcome to the community, nice ride!
  11. Look up posts by the_natrix in the PTU Failures thread. He shows exactly where to drill the PTU.
  12. You can always try and get reimbursement from Ford. At worst, they will say no. Just remember to be nice LOL.
  13. Welcome, congrats on the Sport, I'd say fun times lie ahead, but you already seem well acquainted LOL.
  14. People HAVE installed catch cans on the Sports with positive results, so there is anecdotal reason. But is it an urgent matter, probably not.
  15. Jasper's has had a solid reputation for engines for quite some time, no idea on transmissions. But as always in this fast moving world, things are subject to change.
  16. macbwt Orange Crush: 285,000 miles, no issues Lullubelle: near 240,000 miles, no issues Regular coolant changes.
  17. Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear of your experience But it sounds to me very possible that the dealer is far from competent. We have had quite a large number of folks complain about dealer servicing in California ... How many miles on the Edge when you bought it? Did you have any warranty and was it dealer warranty or Ford warranty? The water pump issue is definitely a known issue with the 3.5 (I am assuming you have that, not the 2.0). But the price is WAY off. Should have been no more than $2,000 or so all in at dealer pricing. Touchscreen issue: perhaps an APIM issue? There is Ford extended warranty on that. If the touchscreen itself went out, that may not be covered. Oil spewing? From a cat replacement? Ruh Roh. Stooges at work? A/C: dual zone climate control? Probably could have been fixed with a recalibration, on in rarer cases, needed a new HVAC module entirely. Serpentine belt: Got WAAAAAY overcharged for that. That is maybe $200 in dealer-priced work. Driver seat power: could be a melted connector or a burnt out motor. Rarely, it is a fuse or BCM issue. And yes, lemons do crop up time to time. But you woulda thunk this lemon would have been discovered in the 4-5 years of the P.O.'s ownership term. Perhaps had it under warranty during that time ... Lining up a reputable indy repair shop seems to be in the cards for you.
  18. Correct. This is, per Ford, not a safety issue, so, not a recall.
  19. Hoping for the best Did the TCM strategy have to be updated in the PCM as well?
  20. I don't see a separator listed on the 2.7EB parts diagram. The 2.0 MIGHT have one tho 2012-14 7 AG9Z-6A785-A Separator 2.0 LITER $41.13 $28.38 2015+ 8 EJ7Z-6A785-B Separator 2.0 LITER $23.07 $15.92
