I think even if the fluid comes out fine, if it is a firsttime drain, I would do an intermediate fill with a cheaper but still full synthetic product like SuperTech, drain it after a few miles, then the final fill with a top notch fluid brand. Fluid that came with the PTU will have breakin metals that it is best to evacuate as completely as possible in order to give the new fluid the best chance to do its job. -

Welcome and congrats. You will find the initial maintenance intervals to be WAY too long. Whenever you get a used vehicle, the rule of thumb? CHANGE ... ALL ... FLUIDS (except maybe brake fluid, LOL). 5W30 engine oil - full synthetic preferred for Ecoboosts Coolant - you can flush with Motorcraft Orange, or flush with Peak Universal Extended Life Oil Filter - Motorcraft FL500s, or really step up the game to Purolator BOSS OCIs - will depend on your driving conditions. Go by hours, not mileage. If all highway, 200 hours. All city, 100. The IOLM can be used also, but the hours recommendation is based on independent Blackstone Labs testing Transmission Fluid - Motorcraft Mercon LV, or perform a fluid exchange with Valvoline Full Synthetic MultiVehicle ATF (better) If AWD, replace PTU/RDU fluids with Redline Lightweight Shockproof (in both, yes, both). But definitely change them out. HTH.

Ford replaces bearings at least in the front, I say this from firsthand experience. And they do not replace in pairs, which would have been the right way to do it. But it was warranty work, so what can you expect? -

Not sure of the offerings these days, but Intel used to offer full power and low power versions of their processors. I would look into that. If you dont do heavy duty computing/graphics/gaming, i5 should be fine. Def max out memory and storage tho, don't wanna short yourself there. Having an SSD boot drive has been great for me. Quick and stable. As far as CD/DVDs you can get an external reader, OR copy the software onto a USB drive and install from there.

I would service the caliper slide pins first make sure everything is moving freely then go from there w/ regards to the brakes. Instances of a bad brake booster do happen even when relatively new. -

The RDU has far fewer issues, but they will occur. And since it is also far easier to change, why not. If you have the original RDU fluid, breakin metals are not doing the unit any favors.

Umm ... how many miles on it? Dealer def missed the boat by not doing an ABS bleed way back when. Still does not seem to have done. The stoplamp switch is what I assume got replaced, because it is easy to wreck it during brake booster installation. Throttle body issues - if 2011+ and 3.5/3.7 engine, might need replacement. Easy 5 minute swap, relatively inexpensive parts on rockauto.com. 2007-10 TBs are more expensive, but swap again is a nobrainer. Have not seen issues on the 2.0 Ecoboost, but SOME failures of the TB motor on the 3.5 Ecoboost. Although you do not live in the salt belt, regular brake maintenance is key to pad/rotor/caliper life. At a very mininum, caliper slide pins need to be de-rusted and greased with hightemp ceramic brake grease to keep functioning well. -

Hopefully you will be set for some time. What are your driving conditions normally like? All highway 30K, all city 10K mile intervals for fluid changes. Time to do the RDU as well at every other PTU fluid change.

Possibly the starter is continuing to run instead of shutting off once the engine starts? Have you tried locating the source of the noise in the engine bay (w a mechanic's stethescope) while you have someone else start up the car? How many miles on your Edge btw?

Check Pinpoint Test DC in the factory manual. It relates directly to MAF diagnosis. Of course the MAF has to be plugged into the system for this to work. An indirect route is to check MAF readings in Volts with Forscan Lite during operation. See if it goes out of bounds at any time.
