what year is your vehicle? Edge/MKX? 3.5/3.7L? The valve cover will have to come off. Easier to do bank 2 (radiator side) than bank 1.

Ever since the introduction of the capless fuel filler, there have been numerous reported failures of the EVAP Purge Valve, much less so of the canister vent valve. The purge valve is in the engine bay, and the vent valve is underneath the passenger compartment along with the EVAP canister. I would pull vacuum on the purge valve to see if it is faulty. If it is in working order, a smoke test is the best way to figure this out.

Welcome to the community, and congrats on the Sport! Better off running a performance tune than trying to turn it into a forced induction engine. With the open deck configuration, that is asking for trouble. Also, the cost would be upwards of 8,000 USD. Then putting that power to the ground .. i am thinking NO lol. Talk to the guys at supersixmotorsports.com and see.

welcome, nice ride! do you have sync 2 or sync 3?

Did this happen while cruising or while at extended idle? It is possible engine temps were approaching abnormal levels, either due to fans not working right, cylinder head temperature wiring being compromised, or coolant/water pump issues. Does the A/C work fine while at idle or does it push out warm air at idle but cold air at cruising speeds? How do the coolant and oil look? No mixing I hope. Any pest issues in your area? Is the appearance cover still on? Pull codes from the PCM to see if anything has set. Won't trigger a check engine light unless it is a critical error. Any major auto parts store can do it for you for free, or you can pick up an OBD II adapter + Forscan Lite software for your tablet/smartphone.

yeah no different than 2007.

Most likely the EVAP purge valve on the firewall. Do you shutoff at first click? Is the engine turned off while refueling?

Question about front strut replacement
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to louky's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
there was a tsb about needing to adjust the subframe in case of stubborn alignment issues, perhaps you are thinking of that? -

What to check on and to update
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Jjnickeson's topic in Forum Help & Site Suggestions
Register on owner.ford.com and go to the Sync tab, I believe you have to enter your VIN as part of the registration, so it will know whether there is an update or not. If you are buying from a dealer, have them update (insist on free) or you can download the update on a USB FAT32 formatted stick (4-8GB is great) and install by yourself. -
all gen 2's in the us and canada are now equipped with a drain plug in the ptu if awd. that means 2015+ Edge 2016+ MKX.
-
Probably needs a fuel pump control module. Second guess would be the intank low pressure fuel pump. Have had this failure code on the 3.5 EB's and it has been the control module.

Most gains on modern vehicles will be at the higher rev end of the spectrum, just like with high flow air filters. Depends on the engine, but typical is 3000-4000 rpm + band. You can check k&n'd published dyno sheets to see for yourself. With tuning you can take better advantage of the CAI, definitely. In the case of the GTDI engines, the development of the highflow/efficiency intercooler such as developed by Special_K and snmjim will be a significant advantage and reason to add the CAI, quite like hiflow downpipes.

I thought I remembered it for Gen 2, hope it works for Gen 1.5 with minor differences! Good luck, rocket!
