Wow, you really got it all buttoned up. Nice work! Yeah those were some hard miles on the plugs. There are people with 150K miles on original plugs (yeah, I know) that have less wear LOL.

How many miles on your Edge if I may ask?

Ford often has running production changes. The only way really to confirm is to check on dealer sites or directly on parts.ford.com to see when the changes became effective. Sometimes only the most recent change is available for perusal for the public, so it is what it is.

3 common things that typically drain a battery on 2011-14 vehicles: a) door ajar message/faulty switch b] shifter not in park message/faulty switch c) CD player on the fritz/faulty head unit Are any of the interior lights on after the doors are closed and locked? Any wiring disloged under the seats?

Intermittent "Service AdvanceTrac" Message
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to JimmyKumbaya's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Would still have the wheel speed sensors and tone rings checked to be sure. -
I believe both should be cooled, but the factory implementation is lacking (unless the feature was updated past your Edge's production date). You may want to peruse this thread, the DIY fixes are towards the end: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18790-cooled-seats/

Nobody's disassembled the aftermarket modules that I know of. I guess you would have to get a failed one to not pay out the wazoo.

What is the mileage on your Edge btw?

2008 Ford Edge Master Cylinder, Maybe
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to kalle3507's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Usually the brake booster that fails, not to say the MC has not failed in your Edge, but statistically the odds are on the BB. As far as replacing only the BB, you can swing the MC out of the way, you do not have to remove it. You can look up autom8r's post on his replacement to get an idea of what you are in for. And keep a new replacement stoplamp switch handy. All too often this gets destroyed during the DIY replacement process. Does the brake fluid look clean? Symptoms are similar to having dirty fluid in the system. -

To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). To install, reverse the removal procedure. The door trim panel is fairly straightforward, the inner panel can be tricky if the bolts don't cooperate. One video where the removal is illustrated as part of a window replacement procedure:

Sucks you had to go through all this. Wonder how the cooling hoses came loose. Odd things do happen, but usually there is a recent servicing behind it. How many miles on your Edge? Did you have the fluid replaced recently?

Welcome, congrats on the "full featured" new ride!

and now you know why they hate warranty work. besides the lowish pay rate.

Power liftgate drops when it is about to close, is it normal?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to redden18's topic in Exterior & Body
No idea but I am sure plenty on here do If anything, I would suspect weak liftgate struts first. -
Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor. Could be a cracked tone ring on an axle. OR could be an actual ABS related issue. Quickest/cheapest ---> Most expensive. Pull codes first, especially if the lights do not go away after a restart.

Will 2010 20 inch rims fit on my 2011 ford edge
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Vega3222's topic in Wheels & Tires
With 70.6 to 63.4 adapters, they should fit just fine. -
Welcome, nice ride! Is it a 2.0? They have had issues with the PTU-axle seal leaking on that powertrain. The updated seals seem to be doing the job so far. And yes, the PTU has a drain plug from factory. You can choose to change the fluid regularly, highly advisable. Even though dealers may resist doing it, independent shops certainly will as they can perform a proper flush on the Gen 2's.

Need Help with Purge Valve PN 2015 2.0
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Bumpin96monte's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
Sometimes you have to fall back to parts.ford.com lol. If you have the base number, 9D289 in this case, that makes the task much easier. Base numbers tend to be the same at least for MYs close to the one your vehicle is. IDK if it stretches across decades of MYs tho You can always post the request on the LevittownSuperCenter thread we have on this forum. Benny has always helped out. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10937-employee-pricing-on-all-parts-accessories/ -
Well better now than later I suppose. Did it look like the TC overheated at any point?
