  1. They have been eliminating the appearance cover on various Ford models since at least the 2017 MY. Not surprising your 2019 does not have one. Why? IDK. Cost cutting probably, or too many warranty claims from people breaking them off during removal LOL.
  2. You mean the fuel pump delivery module? The FPDM is attached to the underside of the rear floor above the rear subframe on the LH side.
  3. ebay is your best resource, search on part numbers. might be a youtube video or two, IDK. Tascaparts.com sometimes has actual pics of the parts as well.
  4. You found a dealer who will change the PTU fluid? Tell you what, you got a gem in the rough right there!
  5. I still need to get our Edge and Fusion PABs replaced ... A coolant drain/fill typically gets out about 1/2 the stated capacity. I think 6 quarts or so is normal. Let us know how the RMM works out, ituhata. Using the same one as snmjim & co, or a different one? EDIT: I see it is the CP-E one, as in snmjim's thread.
  6. Always check the cutoffs with halogens, make sure they are accurate. Then compare to the cutoffs with LEDs (and they SHOULD have cutoffs). Adjust the headlamp if necessary to achieve the same cutoff as with the halogen bulbs. Might be all that is needed. Newer LED bulbs are a vast improvement over bulbs from 5 years ago. But the only bulbs that can be recommended, without independent testing, are from Diode Dynamics and vLED. The rest you have to confirm for yourself and be ready to return to the seller.
  7. Part numbers imprinted on the part itself may or may not match Ford catalogue. The catalogue is a living entity, subject to updates for a variety of reasons.
  8. The Osram NightBreaker Unlimited is 110%, Laser is 150% brighter than standard. The Philips Racing Vision is 150% brighter, so on par with the Laser.
  9. You can always call Benny and ask or post in the Levittown thread. Or you can look up from their website using your Edge's VIN. https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/auto-parts/2011/ford/edge/sel-trim/3-5l-v6-gas-engine/electrical-cat/headlamp-components-scat The Sport for 2011-14 only had a halogen assembly, no HID. Not sure what Level 3 refers to, I believe it is the clear vs smoked option. 10. I am not a "suitor" in this instance, but presumably, there are no known issues with the vehicle. OP has been upfront in the past with similar transactions.
  11. There IS a similar SSM for the Edge 2016/7 with lanekeeping and adaptive steering. An update to the SECM software was the apparent fix. SSM 46481
  12. SSM 47446 I believe. Front cover? Will add to the list of probable causes for oil leaks on the Gen 2. Thanks for the tidbit, viper!
  13. I think the real question is going to be whether they are asking too much of the sealant that is currently in use. We have plastic valve covers already so mating plastic to metal is not the issue. It is most likely the sealant, or possibly the casting. Perhaps there is excessive pressure at the engine's bottom end during operation, possibly cavitation, leading to seal failure. So many questions ...
  14. Would help to provide an audio/video file for us to hear/see for ourselves. What is the approximate location of this sound? Were you able to localize it? Direct injection is clicky-clacky, not unlike diesels. Certainly makes difficult to distinguish such sounds when they are NOT normal. If not normal, could be a bad high pressure fuel pump, timing chain, etc.
  15. Tensioners don't seem to fail much. Belts do of course. Starts as microcracking, so check for that first, and if you find it replace. The good thing is it does not affect engine operation directly/critically. Check the torque mount/dogbone from underneath the vehicle, that is most frequently the mount that fails, but have seen some trans mounts fail as well. Engine mounts not so much.
  16. Referring to the DriveBright kit, not OEM. Part of the taillight design. Seen here: https://drivebright.com/shop/ford-edge-led-tail-light-set-standard-2007-2010-save-20-00/
  17. Not a common issue at all, on ANY model year of Edge/MKX, at least in the U.S. and Canada. Can't speak to experiences in hotter climates, as we have insufficient active representation on this board. But I hope omar302 chimes in, as he IS in the Middle East, and digs up all kinds of useful information. Mainly leaks have been the axle seals or PTU or steering pump hose (banjo bolt). Rarely, a trans cooler line.
  18. Answers to the question of which fuel is better is dependent on engine condition as well as tuning (stock or aftermarket). Fuel by itself is not magic.
  19. Yikes! Hope they figure out the problem and fix it right. And that it is a one-off issue.
  20. Welcome and congrats! Well overdue on plugs, coils, and fluids at a minimum. So those would be the first order of business. Also check battery for CCAs. If the battery is OEM, it may be on its' way out.
  21. BrianK: do you feel the extended heat shield has made a difference? Probably fair to say PTUs mounted to the 6F50 transmissions are the same across models, but what MYs match is a different story, as changes don't necessarily happen in lockstep between models. 6F55 PTUs are different from 6F50 PTUs. The vent extension was added onto the eco 2.0 in Gen 2, possibly 3.5 and 2.7, but do not know. Yes it is to help with fluid expansion. Run known VINs on the dealer or Ford site and check if the vent extension is available for all 3 engines in Gen 2. Yes, all AWD Edge starting in 2015 (i.e. Gen 2) have drain plugs standard from factory. Only way to find out if a solution works is to try it out. Wouldn't hold my breath tho. Ford has had to make revisions especially to support the Police Interceptors. Still not perfect. Instead of replacing the PTU tho, they now have kits to replace the idler gear.
  22. Premium does contain more detergents, possibly even a different pack, than regular. Shell Nitro is a prime example. Only available in premium grade. Now Exxon/Mobil, not sure. All grades are labeled to have Synergy.
  23. Best admission you will get from Ford is based on the changes made in the revised versions of the PTU, up to and including the completely new PTUs starting in Gen 2. So far they have updated bearings and fluid capacity. Adding the drain plug was a bonus.
  24. Depends on where the leak is coming from. Vent, axle-PTU seal, trans-PTU seal etc. And how fast. Anything that depends on lubrication is not going to like it if the fluid is not sufficient in either quantity or quality. So yes, you have to fix the issue in some manner. The best case scenario is PTU vent leak, in which a few rounds of fluid changes should calm it down significantly, if not eliminate the leak altogether. Unfortunately, the PTU is used any time the trans is in gear, so no easy workaround for that. There IS a video on a Fusion on how the guy gutted the PTU to eliminate AWD, but IDK. Take pics, clean up the area, monitor/take pics. That way you know where the leak is coming from. Hopefully it is just PTU fluid that is leaking and not a mix of trans/PTU fluid.
  25. Under premiumcare possibly, or under emissions warranty if still active for your vehicle. Might have to buckle down and stand your ground if they refuse.
