  1. Welcome to Edge ownership, and ditto on the initial maintenance stuff. Might wanna take pics of the undersides before you service anything yourself, or take it to a trusted mechanic so you have documentation.
  2. Cool! Thanks. Usually I see that capacitor sizing in audiophile quality (mobile) audio equipment. Panasonic/Jensen/etc.
  3. Welcome, and I am sure your Edge will prove to be a faithful companion.
  4. OSRAM Night Breaker Plus bulbs are also quite good (have them on my Edge), and are available in 9006 spec for about $42/pair. Can buy directly off of the mega auction site.
  5. Nice work! Looking forward to more progress pics...
  6. Looks heavy duty, Dingo. How did you settle on the specs, and where did you source it from? I found 1 listing on EBay, and another brand (NTE) on Amazon & Radioshack with the exact specs.
  7. Maybe you're noticing this problem in "fast forward"? Could try and replicate the problem per the TSB ...
  8. Glad your wife is OK, and sorry about your Edge! Hope you get the repairs done to your satisfaction, and the Edge back to its beautiful self ...
  9. I believe it is TSB-11-5-6. 10. Welcome to the forum, and soon, to Edge ownership. I am sure the Edge will prove to be a worthy choice!
  11. Updating this topic - apparently issue resolved with new ballast provided by DDM (in this topic). Auto-on with HIDs continues to work for you? Any way you can post a photo of the sticker on the new ballast? Thanks!
  12. I believe you have to have the phone connected as a storage device. For example, on my computer, I have the phone hooked to the PC via USB, and the phone asks me whether to use the connection for power or storage. I set it to storage, and the PC picks up the phone as a USB storage device. Once a drive is mapped (automatically by the PC), it should be available to you for use as a location for photos/wallpapers. Of course, you'd end up leaving the phone connected all the time if you wanted continuous use of the photos, so the best thing would be to download the photos from phone to PC and use the local location for the wallpaper. I have used this method successfully with at least Windows XP thru Windows 7. HTH.
  13. Ford must have a process for rebuilding the PTUs by now. They can use this writeup to prove they need to take a closer look at it, and come up with a better, longer-lived design.
  14. Welcome! What color did you get? You'd think HID would be std by now on the Sport, wouldn't you? Luckily HID retrofit kits are available Maybe next year?
  15. True Blue! That color stands out 4 sure! Nice.
  16. Glad to hear the good news, and looking forward to the pics of the clean, working PTU!
  17. Hello from Maryland, and welcome to the forum!
  18. Welcome! Nice lookin' vehicle you got there People on here have vouched for using PlastiDip to coat the grille without having to remove it; just be sure to mask off properly. A search will net you much valuable info.
  19. MPG seems too high as stated on the window sticker, possible a conversion error (should be 19.4 mpg city, 26.9 on highway). http://media.ford.com/images/10031/2011_Edge.pdf Could be an error on Ford's part, since I can only imagine you getting those stated mpg numbers if the truck had programming to use less than the 6 cylinders the engine came with (a feature on higher end cars). Turbo 2012 mpg for your reference: http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=35006 EDIT: Ok, I found the problem. I was using the gallons in US measurements (3.79L) vs. Imperial (4.55L). That accounts for the mpg ratings on the sticker. Live and learn
  20. Don't know about price, but I'd check CarFax or AutoCheck with the VIN first. Also the mpg on the sticker seems like it's from one of the turbo 4's from 2013, not a V6. I'd love to get that mileage from a V6! http://www.edmunds.com/ford/edge/2011/?sub=suv HTH.
  21. If you have fluorescent lighting in the workshop, and it is too close/strong, that can definitely mess with the camera's sensor. I get vertical blue "beam me up scotty" lines on my point & shoot :o
  22. Welcome, and happy holidays to you!
  23. If 87 is recommended by Ford, no reason to run premium. In the olden days, premium fuel used to be marketed with detergent additivies, while lower grades were simply gasoline. Nowadays, in MOST locations, all grades of gasoline have these additives. If you wanted to retard timing for some reason, premium fuel is one way to do it, but with today's electronics, I don't think you'd gain as much advantage as in times past. Regular maintenance and keeping an eye on the fluids would serve you better in the long run, IMHO. Could look into an occassional fuel injection/induction system cleaning once in a while ...
