Moderator, please feel free to move to appropriate subforum as needed. This topic is intended to provide one-stop hunting for How-To's. Posts in this thread should only contain links to other posts (on the Ford Edge forum or elsewhere) that address the Edge or the MKX. That is about the only rule I can think of. Avoiding duplicate linkages is appreciated

Welcome aboard! Since Ford has a stake in Mazda (or at least used to), it's more of a puddle jump than a creek jump Got any pics to share?

I think it's time we had a HOW TO/STICKY section so this type of info is easy to find. I'd start a HOW TO thread, then add posts with links to each HOW TO topic, along with a short blurb on the contents/subject of the HOW TO. That would bring this kind of information under one roof.

2011 Edge Limited? AWD or FWD (since you have an Outback, I am biased to AWD)? CPO? Warranty? If AWD, would ask about powertrain issues, specifically the PTU. Definitely ask to see the OASIS report along with the Carfax/autocheck. This will show you the repair history of the vehicle at Ford dealerships, beyond what CF/AC will show you. Ask what TSBs/service bulletins have been performed? Check the cabin filter to see if its clean/new. Ours was FILTHY. During your test drive, check for any hesitation/surging issues, under hard acceleration or while slowing down then speeding up (as if to make a turn or a yield). How hard is it to close the doors. At this mileage you should be ok, but the door latches eventually stop working and you have to slam hard/get the part inside the door panel replaced. Probably more regarding electronics, someone else will have to speak to that, I have a pretty basic SEL.

CNC machining at least? Best of luck!

Rear seat floorboard
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to ravishingrocket's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Unfortunately, this "oversight" will result in rust (surface at least) over time if you don't keep the bolts/track protected. I've gotta clean mine, fun! -
Since my 07 has an analog gauge, I am ever so happy to watch that instead of any of the other readings, including miles to empty. I use the mpg readout to finetune my driving, that's about it. The analog gauge has been consistent for me fillup to fillup. I think the electronics need some reworking in current gen Ford vehicles!

Cooling is a Pandora's box for your wallet How cool is cool enough? Frankly, Prinzll, I think you should just EcoBoost the whole thing!

Fitting companion to your Cobra Congratulations, looks like a great purchase. Looking forward to your ownership experiences -
I am betting that Florida highway traffic is the culprit. They get their fair share of traffic backups, jams, and irrational drivers.

Replacing stock subwoofer
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to revo1059's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Haven't seen such small subs before, so find it fascinating. I wonder if the sensitivity is low here due to the size or the design? You'd almost be forced to run a solid state amp to meet the power requirements on budget, at least in home audio. Cool beans! Look forward to hearing more details -

What are you using to map out the acoustics for this project, Dingo? Distribution amp? Auxiliary power? -

Looking for (Qty. 2) Ford Edge 22" OEM wheels (no sensor needed)
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Bigmarc's topic in Classifieds
If you like the service you get from a repair/performance shop or parts/service from a vendor, definitely post it on the forum. Very helpful info, a way to build a hall of fame/shame vendors More work for the moderators, but what would be the best way to build such a reference? A thread dedicated to these vendors, similar to the one set up for dealerships? Thank you. -

2012 Edge Ltd Brake Problem
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to desertedge's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Wow, glad you & family are ok! Haven't heard of any such drastic brake issues with the Edge. More like slowly decreasing effectiveness & such. Could be a leaky brake line (or even master cylinder); that would, especially on a hard stop, cause the type of problem you had. I would check the brake fluid level to confirm this.
