  1. Haven't seen anyone come up with a power liftgate solution post-purchase. Supposedly quite expensive to do it that way. Would help if Ford had designed better struts for the manual liftgate. Takes way too much effort, even with aftermarket struts.
  2. Welcome to the forum! Aside from Michelins, Yokohama Parada Spec-X and Toyo Proxes are well-liked tires for our vehicles. Nitto may have some good offerings as well.
  3. Congrats & welcome! x2 on what Joe said. Look into getting the exterior polished/sealed to keep that shine on for a long time to come.
  4. I believe that is their intended application, so hopefully they will be able to account for the heat from the high ambient temps also! This is the product I was referring to: http://www.amazon.com/DEI-010480-Cell-Saver-Insulation/dp/B000MY0MQ6 The specs on the site seem to be incorrect tho.
  5. Most tire stores carry/can get the hub rings for you if you want them locally. And mostly, they would be plastic, some aluminium. Either works fine, people prefer plastic since that avoids metal-to-metal contact/corrosion issues. I had my mechanic procure them for me way back when for one of my rides, so I don't have a "reputable source" off hand. I do know you can find many Internet vendors upon searching.
  6. Are you the original owner of this Edge? If the struts/springs are fine, they may not be mounted correctly, or the stops (determine the limits of strut travel) may be too short. Have you taken it in for servicing/inspection?
  7. You need to run 18wheeler brakes with those 24's! Maybe even put in a jake brake
  8. Ever tried the thermal wraps they sell on Amazon? I have been wondering if we could make 'em last longer with proper insulation.
  9. 360+ for me on first stop, usually 380+ on second stop.
  10. First time replacement? I guess 3 years is a good time for the battery out in the heat of AZ.
  11. Could be a throttle body issue, if so, people are still reporting that part on backorder. Get on the list as fast as you can!
  12. Welcome & congrats! Hope the Edge holds up well 4 ya. Nice pic!
  13. Some quick assorted things to do list: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12565-how-tos-powertrain-electronics-body-more/ HTH, and congrats/welcome!

    Whining Noise

Glad it is fixed! Did it sound similar to teknowiz's sound clip? TIA.
  15. Congrats on the new Edge! Hub bore sizes are different between '07-10 and '11-13 models, so be sure to get 18" rims for the '11-'13 models only. There's at least one member with wheels on offer, not sure where you are, but have to figure shipping in if not local.
  16. Depends on the dealership, but it is very likely the rotors and pads were simply cleaned/resurfaced, not replaced. So you probably got better mileage out of them than someone who really steps on the brakes Probably best to replace the brakes (rotors/pads) with aftermarket like EBC or PowerStop. Then be sure they are bedded in properly.
  17. Another recently posted topic for the dome/cargo lights (on a '13 model): http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12815-dunno-why-i-didnt-install-leds-long-ago/
  18. Looking for the best LED bulbs for your project? Here is a nice list (thanks, candurin!): http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12851-brightest-leds/
  19. Welcome & congratulations, LORR! Plenty of ideas on this forum for mods You are off to a good start protecting your vehicle.
  20. Ah yes, I have seen your posts on L2D, welcome again! I too like the stock height of the Edge, especially for maintenance work without needing ramps/jackstands :hyper: Weathertech is a popular option, as are Husky products. I use Weathertech year-round, and they have served me well. Have not been too slippery at all. Mom has been OK with them as well, and she's well into senior status An idea that just came to mind was to spray PlastiDip onto these Mats to provide grip, maybe someone else can chime in on that/durability for that purpose.
  21. Wanna remove/replace headlights on your 2011+ Ford Edge (thanks Cellbine!): See the how-to above on bumper removal then go here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12812-how-to-remove-headlights;-2011-models/?do=findComment&comment=99347
  22. Keep the mods and pics coming Nice alternatives for folks to ponder.
