  1. Some choices: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1446671,parttype,6832 Pretty much any cabin filter should do OK. Motorcraft is still the best option, I think, if you want odor control, you can go with the carbon filters. TYC and ATP are well reviewed on Amazon. TYC 800111P (noncarbon filter), ATP FA-14 (carbon filter)
  2. I know, logically it does not make sense. It could be faulty calipers, you know pistons in the caliper not engaging/releasing properly when braking at very low speeds. That is what I think is really happening, and it should be easy for a mechanic/mechanically inclined person to check. My dealer is certainly not interested in pursuing any avenues of investigation, so I will have to go elsewhere. The Ford Escape had a TSB on something similar, but whether it applies here or not ...
  3. 9K really? what's wrong with it, that's the first q in my mind. I would do a Carfax/Autocheck, and have a competent mechanic look it over.
  4. Going aftermarket for pads/rotors may resolve the issue, this being FORD brakes we're talking about.
  5. Does it sound anything like this? Hooting sound 2007 Edge.mp3
  6. Good luck, man, with both your daughter and the Edge. Sorry again for your trauma.
  7. This is the place, Ron? http://www.simplyhidkits.com/ I see they have installation instructions on the site. Did you find it easy to install?
  8. Is your daughter doing ok? That would definitely put you in a bad state of mind. Yeah, even handsfree is no guarantee And you have taken such good care of your Edge, I am sure, like Jared says, you will be back in business in no time at all!
  9. Holy ... What happened? Everyone OK? Just had this happen to me last week: http://www.shospeed.com/gallery/gallery/album.php?album_id=126 Hope you are getting checked out by a doctor. The pain/injuries can show up later.
  10. Can you post some pics of the damage to see how bad it is? You may be able to use a plastic polishing product like PlastX to get the scratches out.
  11. Try #17 in the power distribution box under the hood. That is listed as a cigar lighter/power point.
  12. Nothing like getting it perfect the first time
  13. Wonder if Dingo's syringe method of bubble removal would do the trick.
  14. AWD? Could be the classic PTU seal leak, yes, too early, but possible. EDIT: Never mind, just saw you have a FWD in your other post. Might be a loose plug, just needs tightening?
  15. I guess fuel sloshing around in the tank would affect the readings, more so on an instantaneous reading than a between fillups reading.
  16. Don't know if that will make a difference, but you can try it. I am more inclined to thinking you have a bad LED unit, or simply not making a connection. You could use a digital multimeter to check this possibility, or perhaps hook the light directly to the battery. The electrical system on the Edge may be dicey. Can you make precise measurements of the 3157 LED vs the 3757 incandescent? Maybe just need to file down the tabs on the LED bulb.
  17. Does the display have an option for Instantaneous Fuel Economy calculations? I had seen this on a GMC Terrain I rented earlier this year. Also, if doubts are serious enough, worthwhile getting codes pulled to see if the computer is seeing something awry.
  18. x2 on this. Typical issue with SMD type LEDs from the instructions I see on EBay listings. They should put that tidbit on carid also, save a lot of grief.
  19. for the resolution. Keep an eye on this issue, just to make sure the PCM doesn't sneak up on you.
  20. Dingo = "The Man Who Knows Too Much" :hide:
