  1. Well, looks like you have an ODO DATA ERROR message. We just recently had a member go through this, and a couple of transmission sensors had to be replaced to fix the problem. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/3514-odo-data-error/ As far as TPMS error, do you have new tires on the Edge, or perhaps even new wheels? A tire shop should be able to reset the monitor if so. Then the monitor will relearn the data from the sensors and after a few miles of driving, that error should go away. Still possible a sensor is faulty OR the wrong kind of TPMS sensor was installed. Looking forward to your posting of results with battery disconnect, maybe even a video like this one?
  2. Love the walkabout nature of European marketplaces. Proprietors living above their shops, bricked areas, and all that
  3. A couple of threads that may be useful to you: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/5284-hard-transmission-shift/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/4901-attention-ford-edge-owners/ So, transmission TSB, PCM update may be in your cards. First, I would try disconnecting the battery for a bit (10-15 minutes), then reconnecting it. The PCM should relearn its' operating conditions initially. Does the problem go away during that time? But yeah, I hope you have a warranty to go with the Edge.
  4. Good luck, and good lesson to remember for all of us.
  5. Wouldn't mind an EB6 for sure! Maybe you could retrofit one in the Edge, but probably be quite a bit of work/$. That would give 'em luxury utes the whatfer
  6. Wouldn't happen to have any audio clips of your dog whisperer setup, would you? Those tips look factory the way they fit in there.
  7. Welcome & congratulations! Glad to have another victim of the Edge voodoo-that-you-do join us here Looks awesome
  8. Sounding more and more like a bad throttle body to me. Be sure to raise the possibility (it is a well known problem) to whoever services your vehicle.
  9. Here are a few "detailed" threads on how to properly protect your Edge's exterior (from my own reading favs): http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12590-fully-detailed-the-13-ruby-red-edge/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12336-confessions-observations-from-a-virgin-machine-detailer-huh/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11359-getting-the-sport-ready-for-winter/ as far as the pine sap, if it is also relatively recent, then maybe GooGone will work? Tar-X would be a stronger weapon of choice to remove any and all organic matter stuck to the vehicle.
  10. Probably have to keep it spine side up/out. Getting floppy over time
  11. Great shots! Hope they don't level their hillsides & mountains in search of mining treasures.
  12. Want to install a hitch on your Edge? Great writeup here (thanks, CJD! (and candurin for the reminder)): http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10789-draw-tite-install-on-my-2012-edge/
  13. Welcome & congrats! Bet you are glad you upgraded. Still built on the solid platform of the Fusion, so you could say that you kept it in the family
  14. Sucks, man! You never get true replacement value for it New vehicle time! The other option would be to take the payout, find a cheaper (& reputable) repair shop, repair it and have it recertified for road duty. That was what I was considering with mine.
  15. Do you have the service history? Could need a PCM update, could be faulty coil(s), transmission electronics, etc. Try carbon's suggestion first, also go to your local auto parts store like Advance Auto or AutoZone etc and have them pull codes for you for free.
  16. So it doesn't fall down on your knees when you open the glove box and let it hang?
  17. I think it's mad at you for having the gall to drive another Edge while it was being serviced. Did you see any fluid leaks?
  18. Car stereo noob here, but what occurred to me is whether you know how much power the aftermarket system is using. Alternators put out current based on engine speed, and around 1100-1200 rpms, not that much. For example, http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticles/0408st_high_performance_bosch_alternators/photo_22.html So if you have a high draw system, the power is coming from the battery at these rpms (assuming you have enough coverage at max alterator capacity). So you need a strong battery to cover these needs. How old is the battery in your Edge? I would get the best battery possible if it tests anywhere near low or is of mediocre capacity to begin with. I don't even think about batteries under 800 CCAs, and preferably deep cycle at that.
  19. Seems like a lot of these faulty seals continue to get installed at the factory. The repair should hold up better, though.
  20. Looks good! Since these products challenge our senses when it comes to application & removal, it takes some time to trust the product, and to trust yourself with use of the product. It's not like you can wear 3D goggles that automatically detect "sufficiency"!
  21. Welcome & congrats, sounds like you bought a gem Of course, if we could SEE it ... Just my luck, I saw a Gen 2 Mineral Gray toodling by today as I left the library. Nice!
  22. I hear ya, Maavalous1! Just might do that. BTW, the dealership found nothing wrong with the Edge at all. It was just a "suggestion" to get the service. To their credit, assuming someone actually looked at the vehicle, they did not charge me anything for the "diagnostics"
  23. Noticed a mpg drop over last week after filling up Costco gas. Took it in for service at dealer. Dealer suggested MAF cleaning with BG service/Air Filter replacement, stating that the throttle bodies get dirty. Guess it's time to look inside the Edge's throat myself. Yippee!
