  1. From what I gather on the Web: Electronic Brake Distribution (as seen on this spec page) is tied into the ABS system. Trying to achieve vehicle stability under all conditions, and possibly using the rear brakes first/more under light braking. Also trying to prevent nosedive under vehicle bumper in case of impact. At a recent oil change at the dealership, the rear brakes were noted as YELLOW, fronts as GREEN. Although I have no idea when/if the pads were replaced (bought the vehicle used), most of my braking is light/pre-emptive.
  2. According to this page http://www.ford-taurus.org/taurusinfo/Engine/ , yes, it is an interference engine. But I cannot find other references to confirm accuracy.
  3. Welcome, and glad to have you here!
  4. 2 amps when off? Wayyyy too much current. You need to find the source of the "phantom" draw. I have heard of CD players going bad and not shutting off completely. An aftermarket security system could do this also.
  5. Would like to thank each and every one of the contest entrants. Very worthy vehicles for consideration
  6. AWDs get 1-2 mpg's less than FWD's. If you keep the Edge out of the weather, then that will help your mpg's. The trips are too short to properly warm up the engine AND take advantage of the efficiency. I commuted to the bust station just like you to the train station, for years, and got penalized as a result In the ye olde days, they said that short trips like this are also hard on the engine, don't know if that still holds true with modern engine management tech & modern lubricants. Taking it easy on the gas on short trips helps too
  7. Strut mounts and/or subframe bushings is where I'd start looking, in general.
  8. Haven't done this yet. But it has been mentioned that the interior panel is glued on, in addition to being bolted on. I guess take a heat gun or hair dryer to it?
  9. We should create an Edge Hall of Fame just for examples like this
  10. 3.5L AWD/FWD? Doing good for this early on. May take up to 20,000 mi to reach rated mpg. Assuming your trips are not "extreme" (a lot of traffic, stop and go). Look at it this way, you are getting as good a mileage as a 2013 X5 already before breakin is complete!
  11. Are you sure that's not in KMs??? Seriously, that is actually a very reasonable service history. Factory spark plugs, wow!
  12. Must have completely missed this thread! Sounds like a typical starter gone bad, plus the battery may be ready to be replaced as well.
  13. Haven't really heard of failures on the 3.5L such as yours, so I expect these are pretty rare. Yeah, the skills of the dealership's service department will be put to the test. The only reason to worry though would be if the cause of the failure was outside the short block. I would change oil regularly with mfr oil/filter at least for the next few K miles.

Impressive! Were you looking for this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12704-challenge-patience-mpg/
  15. If it's DTBL (DaytimeBrightLites), will be well worth it. If you want to try your own hand at it, there are a couple of threads on this forum that can guide you through the process.
  16. Welcome & congrats! I was lucky to find a preowned Edge without a sunroof and with roof rails already on Post some pics of your new toy!
  17. Welcome & congrats! Really really like BOTH colors. MUST POST PICS Sirius keeps offering subscriptions, haven't taken advantage yet. I have heard tho if you do take the offer, make them bill you and don't provide a CC/bank acct for auto billing.
  18. Got these lights a while ago and decided to try them out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140786483328?item=140786483328 Difference: New lights are front AND side firing, rated at 500 lumens. Old lights are forward firing only, 640 lumens. New ones also are a bit more wiggly in the socket, hope they don't decide to make a run for it
  19. Seeing more Edges locally on the road than ever. Is "previously owned" catching on? Would be nice to give owners MORE reason to love their vehicles
  20. Very nice! Mind putting up pars info for the lighting? Thanks!
  21. Sweet deal for someone! 2011+ only unless willing to rework hub bore for older vehicles.
  22. sixponies, per the member posts on here, Gibson exhausts are fairly aggressive sounding, in a good way. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/3185-edge-aftermarket-exhaust-clips-links-inside/?do=findComment&comment=24409 True duals will probably net you the best sound, however. V6s do get a bit highpitched up top. Msl, you should hear a difference, but how much is anyone's guess. Will it be agreeable? That is the question. I would change it out as part of a catback system change, for tunability. If you do make the switch, be sure to post your results
  23. Welcome & congrats on a most excellent choice of vehicles/options/color Former 92/95 SHO owner here I too love the ease of access in the Edge. My mom can't get into something as tall as a Honda Pilot without a stepstool, but gets in just fine into the Edge! That Marauder sounds like a beast! Got any track time on it? Post some pics of both of 'em when you get a chance. Ford Edge of the Month Round 1 is still open (links on top of the page).
