  1. Thought I'd add this door latch replacement info from the 2007 Edge Workshop Manual: Removal and Installation Remove the door trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 . http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Ford-Edge-Door-Panel-Removal-Speaker-Replacement-Guide/index.html Remove the door window regulator and motor assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 501-11 . http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Ford-Edge-Power-Window-Motor-Replacement-Guide/index.html Disconnect the interior door handle actuating cable. If equipped, disconnect the door lock cylinder actuating rod. Disconnect the door handle reinforcement actuating rod. NOTE: Front door shown, rear door similar. Release the door latch rear locking clip. NOTE: Front door shown, rear door similar. Release the door latch front locking clip. Disconnect the door latch electrical connector. Release the door latch front locking clip. Remove the door latch with the door lock actuating rod. If necessary, disconnect the door lock actuating rod. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Lubricate the door latch to striker surfaces after installation.
  2. More than likely it is held on by a couple of screws to the door handle/bezel. Could be a snap in piece too, but don't know for sure. The Ford catalog doesn't list all the parts for the latest models, it takes a few years. You could search for a parts catalog on EBay, maybe that will be more helpful?
  3. Closest thing I have found at www.fordparts.com is indeed called the Interior Door Handle Trim, there is LH and RH, but no front/rear. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=2012&m=Ford&mo=Edge&initSearch=1&keyword=interior%20door%20handle%20trim#Search If you can take a pic of the actual problem piece and post it, that would be helpful. Is it a smooth plastic piece, or textured non-plastic piece etc? You may be able to restore with a plastic polish like PlastX if not too bad, is why I am asking.
  4. That is a NICE vehicle! Congrats and look forward to updates
  5. Will give it a go today. Fingers crossed I did change out the filter (Purolator Classic) the other day (Motorcraft, old = dirty), and I do have to say that it made a small-but-noticeable improvement. Apparently the shine-the-light-through-the-filter standard is not enough to check for adequate airflow these days.
  6. Welcome, and I will say congratulations (although guardedly). How many miles did this particular Edge have on it when you bought it, and what was the build date? You are right to be concerned. The quality of work depends on the dealership's staff, of course. They should have their most experienced mechanics working on the engine swap, since I assume it will be a short block (basically cylinder head down to the oil pan), not a long block that they are replacing. In all honesty, you have to give them a chance to fix it correctly. If they don't, you will have a much stronger case for further action. Definitely check into the lemon laws and the extended warranty (I assume bumper to bumper, not powertrain?). Document all events and contacts with the dealership/Ford. Maybe pursue a vehicle buyback of some sort, get another Edge? I am guessing that would really depend on the dealership.
  7. Welcome & congrats! The Edge sure fills that niche rather nicely. 3.7L? Post some pics
  8. Sorry to hear you are moving so far away, Mickey but hope things go well for you.
  9. Interesting. There is more tie-in with body lines. Grill matches better with the wheels. The pillars flow out into the hood, would rather see a prominent bump like the SHO's have. Hopefully, interior space & ride height will not be compromised. Would really like to see better struts on manual tailgates (if that is even offered).
  10. How did you take the bottom part of the airbox out, Msl? I unbolted the one bolt that holds it to the frame in front, but there seems to be something underneath holding it also. Wanted to clean it out in vitro. TIA.
  11. Complete change in character Can you post a clip from outside the car (front/back)? Wondering how much the snorkel was suppressing!
  12. Welcome & congrats! Quite a bit of info on this site for the beloved Edge How did you come to pick the Edge? Post up some pics when you get a chance!
  13. Carfax and Autocheck will not contain warrantied repair information. This is where OASIS, Ford's proprietary service management system accessible by dealers & employees, can help. I think there MAY still be holes in the history, but you should get a much better view with the OASIS report.
  14. Seriously good mileage! Today for the first time ever after a gas station fill, I got 26 mpg on the 4 mile ride home (hilly, but only 2 lights). Prev best was 22 mpg.
  15. Will they show you related autocheck/carfax reports? OASIS reports? So you have an idea of the service history.
  16. AND you waited sooooo long before posting it to the forum! Very nice piece. Do you collect watches also?
  17. Lookin' good! Better ride AND mileage, can't beat that Aren't those tires a bit wide, though? How do they sit?
  18. Even the interior of your Edge is so clean, Jared! Love the pics of the awesome fearsome trio
  19. 24 mpg is pretty good! Next time you take a "longer" trip, be sure to take a snapshot and add a post in this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12704-challenge-patience-mpg/
  20. I think we should at LEAST put a TURBO BOOST button on the dash and play the Knight Rider theme Looking forward to your transformed Edge!
  21. Ford puts out a coupon for their fuel saver package from time to time, watch for it on the Ford site http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/ServiceCouponsPage Don't know if this is valid in Canada or not. Also changing your own oil is relatively easy, cost would be the new oil.
  22. Welcome & congrats! Tell us more about your Edge and post pics at will What mods are you looking to do to it?
  23. Per my 2007's shop manual, these are the diagnostic steps: Low engine coolant level Engine overheating Plugged or partially plugged heater core Temperature blend door is binding or stuck Temperature blend door actuator Heater hose is kinked or binding (check very carefully when engine is warmed up, may be hot enough to burn) The actual controls (mechanical/electronic) are not mentioned, but there could be a fault in there as well.
  24. AC was blowing cold air? When on heater, is air coming out? Was the Edge already a bit warmed up before you used the heater? If the air is not coming out warm, could be a plugged heater core.
