That squeal is a common problem, especially with Ford pads. Very common first thing in the morning too, after the rotors have "cooked" in the humidity and have built up surface rust. When I switched to Power Stop brakes, the problem went away completely. Still get light rust buildup, but it grinds away within a few seconds of first brake application.

2008 Edge Broken Drive Shaft
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to 2008BlackEdgeGuy1's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Ask Benny at Levittown Ford if they have one in stock. Else, you can call around places like Tasca, FordPartsGiant, and AutoNation of White Bear Lake. Worst comes to worst, you can buy aftermarket. Such as USA Standard Gear. Available usually on both RockAuto and Amazon. -
The 2.0 in the 2015+ MYs is not the same as the 2.0 in 2012-2014 MYs. Coolant intrusion issues affect 2015+ MYs. 2012-2014 are mostly wear and tear, turbo replacement at or near 100K miles being the most common.

Don't worry, take action! ? Never too early to change fluids. Especially when it is nused / you are not the first owner. Change: transmission, coolant, power steering, and brake fluids. There is potential for saving a lot of headaches down the road. Also consider changing spark plugs at the very least, and cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body.

'14 3.5L HVAC Issues

lotta lowtech there lol. good luck. -
The Camshaft Holding Tool will hold the camshafts in the Top Dead Center (TDC) position. Line up the timing marks on the old chains with the phasers/intake ones if TiVCT, then put the cam tools in place, then commence work. Very important to follow this sequence. Similarly, make sure the marks on the new chains line up with those on the phasers, and make sure to seal the main cover/timing cover properly. Also replace the guides, tensioners, water pump, and solenoids for a long lasting fix. Early Gen 1's also had a problem with the phasers wearing down, so you would want to replace those as well in that case.

Search on calibrating the dual cliimate module. I believe it was a 2012 Limited that the fix was applied to. (Ford can also reprogram it if the DIY method does not fix.) Or you can actually replace the blend door actuator on the miscreant side. A coolant flush never hurts tho it likely will not resolve this specific issue. If the driver side had been hot/passenger cold, I would have said to check refrigerant level. Just had this happen on my 07 a month and a half ago. -
May need a valve body modification/PCM update, even tho it falls outside the MYs in this TSB. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dr1SKbRyBXRfS53MTQvsZixk_NWtaApG/view?usp=sharing

Was the alignment for driving symptoms, or just a routine check? Was it ever in an accident? Does it drift/pull in any particular direction with the steering wheel pointed straight ahead? A gen 1.5 fix was to realign the subframe, if nothing else pans out, check that. Def inspect the control arms closely, also tie rods. Second opinion at the least.

Are you using a Motorcraft oil filter? Rattles generally are the timing chains not getting enough lubrication at startup. If the rattle exceeds 2-3 seconds, you should seriously consider a timing system/water pump job on your Edge.

possible torque converter lockup issue? checked transmission fluid level and condition? any leaks at the TC housing?

Cooling fans running all time with AC
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Obeidat87's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
the driver side fan should not run with a/c completely off. if both fans are running all the time, install a new fan assembly. most times it is the fan motors at fault, but there is a sprinkling of FCM failures also. Motorcraft is the best option. -
The BA9 is actually cheaper than the BA7, you can buy that one instead. Same link that enigma-2 posted above. Alternators - highly recommend Motorcraft new or remanned. If NAPA boxes Motorcraft, that would work too but you would have to be sure. I have had good luck with Bosch also for Fords.

IAT2 is normally the OBD PID for charge air temp. Not sure what this gauge calls for. Do you have the 2.0 or the 2.7?

Car won't accelerate when pressing the gas
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to oldtownroller's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
check the cats when fully warmed up, to see if they are glowing hot. or bang on them gently with a rubber mallet. these are the two typical methods of direct diagnosis of a bad cat (or two in this case). when did this issue arise? can you provide a timeline of the issue in relation to the parts replacement? unplugging the maf sensor is not a problem, as the pcm will relearn as you drive once the sensor is plugged back in. with all the parts you have replaced, and the trans fluid being clean, you should be looking at live data with an OBD adapter and Forscan Lite or similar app. For example, does the car stay in gear while accelerating or does it go to neutral, in which case engine revs would rise but there would be no acceleration. check the range sensor. there is a TSB that shows you how, pretty straightforward if you have already done a tss/oss job. another possibility is the problem lies in the SBA or VB. you can check the SBA electrically, but the VB is all mechanical. did you use motorcraft sensors and are you sure the wires did not get pinched? i think the logical step would be to re-examine the work, and take a closer look at the VB/SBA. of these two, the SBA is much more likely, but the VB has occasionally had issues with a stuck piston. sure brakes are not dragging? many times if the caliper slide pins are not serviced, they lead to all kinds of problems. -
2016 2.0L - PTU drain and fill plugs?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to my2k2zx2's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
I don't have a pic of the fill plug, but it seems you have identified them correctly, as a t50 is required to remove them. May be a struggle to remove the drain plug with the intake tubing in place, so be prepared to remove that tube first. Plus you don't want to make a mess if the fluid splatters all over the tube etc. Pic of drain plug: -

check the PCM connectors for water intrusion. If water got in there, a good cleaning (and adding a dab of dielectric grease) may be all you need.

Are both fans running all the time? You need to put in a new fan assembly. Assuming the A/c system is not contaminated. Did you check pressures with pro gauges or the one that comes with the "ac in a can" product? Rent pro gauges to get an accurate reading. Pressures are acceptable in a relatively narrow range.
