Yes, it should still apply, and you would have to insist on it. Dealers may go by the book, or be amenable to persuasion. If the ticking sound lasts 10 minutes, I'd say you have an excellent case to press for this TSB. If you are unsatisfied with the dealer's response, you can take it up with Ford National Customer Service. Either way, I hope you get it resolved painlessly, but be prepared for the good fight.

The TSB specifically references the ticking problem if it lasts as long as 10 minutes. Definitely get the vehicle to the dealer, with TSB in hand.

Welcome & congrats! Glad you are over here, "Ticking" is considered normal by Ford, and it certainly is if caused by the fuel injection system. Should be regular in timing though. There is also ticking that occurs during oil pressure buildup, but that should go away in a few seconds. In your case, it could be the cam phasers making the sounds. Your Edge is still well within the breakin period though. Did you buy it new? Might not be a bad idea to have an oil change done just to make sure you have the OEM oil & filter combo in place. Blackstone Labs can analyze your oil to give you an idea what is happening with the engine. The pulley turning sound could be an overly tight drive belt. I would have it checked out by the dealership to make sure the concern is on record. A TSB that might help is 12-1-17. If you can post a video/audio that captures the sound, that would be of help for analysis. tsb12-1-17_Ford Edge COLD ENGINE STARTUP TICKING NOISE.pdf

Any OEM Hid Options?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Edged Up's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
You may be able to get these cheaper through Levittown Ford Supercenter (sponsor on this site). A brief discussion of the HIDs starts here http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10937-employee-pricing-on-all-parts-accessories/page-4?do=findComment&comment=95412 but it is unclear if you can just swap the headlights in & out and be done, or whether additional hardware would be required. Perhaps a member with OEM HIDs would be willing to post some pics/info? -
Maybe OPPOSITE would be a better description than BACKWARD?

That's cool! In my fav color too, blazing copper sunset or whatever they called it. Does it have an air suspension
-
So, back to normal, expected operating condition? If you have to take the dash apart again, betcha it takes 1/2 the time At least you got the core changed out before it leaked all over your carpet!

Welcome & congrats. Hope to convert you into a longterm Ford owner

Ford Edge "Dashboard Noise"?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Jennifer Lynn's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Welcome. Can you give us more details about your Edge? Year & submodel, manual/automatic HVAC, etc. Where are you located? Do you have the HVAC system on when the sound occurs? Check the cabin air filter behind the glove box. There may indeed be something fallen in there, maybe even into the blower motor. The motor could be going bad. Could simply be a wire/harness or insulation not properly mounted inside the dash / vents. -

How many cords do you typically need for a winter season, Cellbine? -
Generic response, as expected, and until their lawyers say otherwise.

Happy birthday, wannabang! Speaking of dirty screens, I find this microfiber tool to be pretty handy: http://www.amazon.com/Targus-Cleaning-Generation-BlackBerry-TXA00212US/dp/B004TLH7C0. When Dingo says his Edge is dirty, he means a pico-mm sized spec of dirt just landed on it -
Definitely keep an eye on it, and be firm with the dealer about the Throttle Body if the issue arises.

Of course! Never enough pics!

http://hooniverse.com/2013/08/16/braking-news-ate-super-blue-deemed-illegal-for-us-distribution/ My personal favorite brand of brake pads is Performance Friction (carbon metallic), but they do not have an application for the Edge. Have not had good luck with the HPS in the past, but will give them a go again. StopTech does make the SS lines for the 07-10 Edge also, looking to see who might make the 11 & up lines. Yours custom at a brake shop, or DIY? Goodrich part # 13098 for 07-10, 13099 for 11 & up, per autoanything.com. Even though visibility is pretty good with the Edge, I often am at busy intersections with no signals and curving roads. Would like to have confirmation before I get into traffic.

Quite a Must Have list, Dingo Be sure you include gullwing doors in your "not here, later" list! Are you still happy with the Silblades? Time to replace my wipers, so ... IF you are turning it in the correct direction, it may just be a matter of putting constant pressure on it. That's what I had to do with a late model Honda Pilot that was a PITA to work with. Also, if the area is dirty, clean it up first to make it easier. I THINK Dan (kc300c) may still have his HID installation video on YouTube, may give some hints in there.

Welcome, and congratulations! Stalling is usually a bad Throttle Body symptom. But pulling codes first will point you in the correct direction. I don't think a bad TB will set a code, so if you have no codes and experience stalling, the TB would be a great starting point.

Welcome, glad to have you here!

Man, sorry to hear that Dingo! Hope it wasn't the one that was worked on? I typically bang my right knee on the edge of the dash getting in. Just a teensy bit too close for speedy entries -
OEM air filter is definitely a great option. Strongly recommend replacement every year, more frequently if you tend to get caught in dust storms. Keep that MAF/IAT sensor happy.
