Let us know how you feel about the work done as time passes. Hope for a successful transplant

Welcome & congrats, Woodster! Let's see those pix I don't think I have seen anyone (at least recently) raise their Edge or even talk about raising their Edge. An air suspension may be the way to go, people HAVE installed those, but my guess would be you would be a "pioneer" in this area. Something like this may work http://www.carid.com/2007-ford-edge-suspension-systems/readylift-lift-kit-3088337.html or http://www.autoanything.com/suspension-systems/61A3002A0A0.aspx. Do you have the 18" stockers?

Welcome & congrats, gatorskye! No, it is not normal for HIDs to flicker, maybe increase somewhat in brightness over the first 30 seconds, but not flicker. The replacement ballast should fix that problem. Tell us more about your Edge, and add some pix when you get a chance!

2011 Edge limited Driver door ajar issue

Good on you for being proactive about the issue! May the dealer see the light soon and get their act together. -
Scrichitty Scratch
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to normcloutier's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I have never had the occasion to polish the glass, but Ceriglass is the name I usually run across on my travels through the web. I don't know if you could get away with cerium oxide powder and high grit sandpaper (wet sanding) on a dremel, if the scratch is really light. -

Coil/PCM issues and reimbursement for TSB 13-04-17
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to marriedgeek's topic in 3.5L
Man, I feel for ya. I would hope that owners would be notified of such special provisions/extensions, at least original owners. I have never gotten such notifications, only recall notices as applicable. If owners are aware that warranty coverage exists, they are more likely to bring the issue up with the dealer sooner, saving themselves much headache. -
Coil/PCM issues and reimbursement for TSB 13-04-17
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to marriedgeek's topic in 3.5L
Yeah, as long as you have warranty, I would use outside shops primarily for diagnostics, so you can take that armament to the dealer. Still gonna be out of pocket. If one dealership is unsatisfactory, you have to look for a different dealership and/or contact Ford Customer Service. If still unsatisfied, and you want peace of mind (trusting the outside shop), get the work done (out of pocket) and then try to work with Ford directly (and have lawyer representation) to get reimbursement. Have to be patient in this game. If you can line up a good dealership for servicing your vehicle BEFORE you buy the vehicle, so much the better, but who really has time to do that anyway? -
Guesses: Either you have a large parasitic draw on the system, or the battery needs to be replaced. 3-4 years seems to be a good replacement interval.

Can't fit the 2011+ wheels on the 2007-10 as is. Hub bore is too small on the '11+'s. You would have to bore out the wheel, a fairly expensive proposition. You CAN go the other way, using adapters to fit '07-10's on 11+'s. And, btw, welcome & congratulations! Tell us more about your Edge

Coil/PCM issues and reimbursement for TSB 13-04-17
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to marriedgeek's topic in 3.5L
I have not (yet) been in this situation. I have heard of people buying reasonably priced, reliable aftermarket replacement coils from alanisdeals on EBay. Used PCMs are available (200-250 or so) on EBay, new should run about 500 + 100 core at the dealer. -
13M01 - Middle East PTU Extended Warranty
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to omar302's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Now maybe they can extend PTUs with drain plugs to the US and Canada? Hint, Hint, Ford! We owners like to keep the fluids nice & clean! -
charcoal air cabin filter
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to richy's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
You are right, omar302. Media type & quality is the other factor. Trading a little drop in efficiency for a substantial gain in filtering characteristics. I looked at pleated filters too in that same size, but didn't see any brands with enough feedback on the Inet. NordicPure seems to have a decent reputation, hence why I posted the link. The search will continue. -
You know, right up until that last picture, I was thinking, "Awwww, SO cute!" Then I just had to laugh at the last pic, he looked SO relaxed, just in need of a good beer & hearth Nice to be part of a network doing good deeds, hope Charlie is lucky enough to have a home like the one Rocket got!

charcoal air cabin filter
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to richy's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Since they do not rate filtration on cabin air filters like they do furnace filters for the home, I was thinking maybe pick up a small MERV 13 filter and size it to fit in the compartment. May not work, most of the home filters of that efficiency that I have found are 1" in thickness. ? Maybe something like this: http://www.nordicpure.com/AIR/18-x-18-x-12/18-x-18-x-12-Exact-Half-Inch-Air-Filter?ps=MSw1MDksNjkwNQ== Cut into 4 equal sized pieces. I think the FP65 is about 8.5 inches square by 3/8 inch high. Have to check that. -
charcoal air cabin filter
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to richy's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
You'll be fine. My SEL had the screen filter too as OEM. Replaced with pleated filter. Aaahhhh, so much better! Just remember to change at least once a year, check frequently if you feel performance degradation. -
I think because the http:// is sitting in front of the URL, the browser takes it verbatim. When you type it in without the http:// or any such prefix, nowadays browsers backfill the www. as needed. BUT the forum sofware won't recognize it as a valid URL without tags around it. For example, motorcraftservice.com will work IF you select this text and right click to open link or some such option. Allows the browser to interpret.

Blown head gasket? I think this is the first time I have heard this happening on the Edge V6 (busily jotting down in mental notebook). Glad they are taking care of you, Kitulu. Care to name the dealer so others may benefit? Keep us updated
-
Yeah, that's the same song-and-dance I get when taking the Edge in for work. Diagnostics are out-of-pocket to owner unless a fault covered under warranty is found. You can only hope you are dealing with a competent mechanic/diagnostician. At least you have the DTC in hand to back you up. Might want to call Ford Customer Service about this first, unless you have a great relationship with the dealer.

Welcome, and hope you will find this forum to be friendly in general. Any help you can provide with Sync/MFT, including as a conduit to the dev team, is appreciated.
