I guess the Edge would actually be a collectible in Finland Gas prices are $3.29/gallon in my area, can't even THINK of $8. Combine that with winter/snow tires, that would hurt even more!

Since a flush & fill was done, I'd check the fluid level first. (Hopefully they put in the correct fluid.) Incorrect levels can cause all kinds of problems. After that, look for any leaks. Then, look at the TSS/OSS sensors as possible culprits. Check for codes? AutoZone or Advance Auto or major auto parts retailers should be able to pull them for you for free.

Any references for 6F50 limits? TIA.

A very cohesive set of upgrades, looks good I assume you put LED reverse lights in? Are the black emblems overlays or replacements? Links?

The nice thing is, since the 3.7L is shared with the Mustang, you can probably utilize the same upgrades the ponycar owners do. Then throw a tune on it to burn some rubber. Look up BobC (Bob C?)'s posts to get a glimpse into this.

Welcome & congrats! Look forward to those pics of your sweet ride!

Hope everything checks out a-ok. Definitely take the Edge for a highway cruise once in a while, that really helps in keeping the battery charged.

I will defer to someone with actual experience on this job, but here is the info from the Ford workshop manual for the heated valve (early '07s, 2C5Z-6A666-AA): Removal and Installation Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve electrical connector.Disconnect the PCV hose from the PCV valve. CAUTION: A new PCV valve must be installed if removed from the valve cover. Upon removal, damage will occur to the locking mechanism on the PCV valve. NOTE: To install, apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal. NOTE: Upon installation, make sure the PCV valve electrical connector is pointing in the correct position to allow the wiring harness to be connected. Incorrect installation would require removal and installation of a new valve. Rotate the PCV valve counterclockwise and remove from the valve cover. Discard the PCV valve. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Do you know when the Edge was manufactured? Could have been sitting on the dealer lot for a while. Some dealers are good at keeping the battery fresh, most are not. Has the dealer installed any electronic options? May need to recheck connections. If everything checks out, and you still continue to experience problems, you may have a bad battery. Should be covered under warranty if so.

Welcome & congrats! Looks brand new Tint goes well with the paint scheme.

Yeah, you would think the PTU issues would be history, but then so should the door latch issues. Did you buy the Edge brand new? Have you checked the transmission fluid level? A low level of fluid anywhere in the transmission/PTU/RDU will affect the "feel"/acceleration of your vehicle. I have the lowly 3.5L with the lower output, but it MOVES when I step into it. The thing to keep in mind is that due to adaptive learning, the PCM is set into a "frugal" mode, conserving fuel, and thus being detrimental to acceleration. If you throw in a couple of aggressive driving sessions, that will help the PCM be responsive like you expect it to be. Or go drastic and disconnect the battery for a while to force the PCM to enter learning mode immediately

Grinding noise when turning on ice and snow
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Bradman123's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
So this could be the ABS tone ring in action? I did not feel any pulsation in the brakes, just heard the "scritching" noise. I was driving downhill, starting at a light, turning very slowly (btwn 5-10 mph). -
Grinding noise when turning on ice and snow
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Bradman123's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Had the same experience yesterday, on ice/snow and only while turning. Have not heard it on slippery, rain-slicked roads. Maybe the sound is being reflected better on snow/ice, or hearing the surface being cracked/crunched as the weight/wheel force shifts? -
Yet another front license plate removal :)

Looking good! -
Welcome & congrats! Nice looking ride, and great mods

The color of the fluid is lighter than for years past for sure. Use a strong light, and look for the fluid "blob" as viewed at an angle.

Blower Fan Dieing
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to UnfocusedEdge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
BTW, what kind of noise was it making? Buzzing or ratcheting or ...? The blower fan in mine buzzes, but only when shutting it down on cold days. -
Welcome to the community! Gives us all hope that our rides will last indefinitely into the future Like they ask in all the weight loss and skin care commercials, "What is the secret to your success?". OC is my color of choice too, BTW.

Welcome to the forum! What year is your Edge, and when did you acquire it? That is a sweet color choice, and we need some pix Search is definitely your friend, I have found. Look forward to your participation

2007 Edge some times sounds like marbles
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to mark abby's topic in 2007 Edge & MKX
That stinks! But it seems that if you have documented the origination of the cam phaser problem at 45K, maybe you can talk Ford into at least sharing the cost on that one. The wheel bearing issue, I think only covered until the B2B warranty runs out, so no joy there, but worth a try anyway. -
Tackled the front 3 on the Edge today, plan to tackle the back 3 when I have more time. Had to use a 6" extension on my 5/8" spark plug socket to remove. Torqued new plugs to approx 132 in-lbs. All 3 locations had the same characteristics: Plug condition: not the best, but serviceable. May have been running a bit rich, or not providing complete combustion. Dielectric grease found smeared all over the top half of the plug. NEVER seen that before. Plug gap: 0.077-78 (new plugs SP411 gapped to approx 0.054) Journals: Clean & Dry; blown out with compressed air prior to plug removal Coils/boots: Very good condition, but VERY difficult to remove, had to be persistent. Recommend covering nearby "hard" surfaces first to avoid scrapes/injury. When removing the plug wires from the coils, pull the orange tab out, then depress the black tab in the center before attempting to remove. If you don't depress the black tab in the center, good luck to you. Threading the new plugs in was a bit unnerving, as I found the path less than precise. Felt like the plug was wandering a bit, and had to be careful to take the path of least resistance to avoid crossthreading. Applied a tiny amount of Permatex dielectric grease to inside of coil boot prior to installation on plug. Startup afterwards sounded much better (less noisy). Hopefully the euphoria will translate into mpg's too! Will post pics later.
