  1. Look up whiteis33's posts on here, or go to his facebook website to contact him directly. He does really cool work. You can also get in touch with Lightwerkz to see if they have anything for the Edge.
  2. Definitely take it to the dealership. You can always have it towed there and start it up there. What color was the smoke? Could be rod bearing or main bearing going bad. Sometimes a bad cam phaser will cause inadequate lubrication, causing such a failure.
  3. Most likely a PCM update, TSS/OSS replacement and/or a valve body modification will take care of this "bump" issue. Similar to issues spec'd in TSBs 09-02-07, 10-9-9 and 07-21-11.
  4. Hi Pamela! Welcome to the forum, sorry you are experiencing the all-too-familiar PTU problem. Yes, it continues to happen in the newer models, but I believe with MUCH less frequency. On the 2007-2010 models, it is more of a luck of the draw. Have not heard of spark plugs breaking off on the Edge. On the 5.4L Triton engines in the F series trucks, sure, but not on the Edge. Who is your diagnostician/repair guy? Not a dealership, I presume. What kind of warranty do they give on their work? Are they putting in a brand new PTU with Ford spec fluid? May want to check the PTU seal at the same time, that is a known problem area also. The Edge is a relatively trouble-free/workhorst type of vehicle, but the PTU can definitely be a weak point.
  5. Hmm. Wonder if the Edge is shipped that way from the factory, or if something broke off in there. If you poke at it and it seems pliable, I'd try taking it out with a thumbtack. Or superglue a rod end to it and yank/unscrew. Or use a screw extractor as a final resort. But I'd much prefer yelling at the dealer
  6. Might be the mating surface for your rooftop antenna. Try screwing in the dealer provided antenna first. Otherwise, make the dealer do it!
  7. We do have a Ford rep on here you can redress your grievance with. He may be able to get this sorted out, or at least get you a reason why Zune support evaporated.
  8. True, probably wouldn't hurt to have the DTBL URL redirected to the DriveBright site & port the information from DTBL to DB.
  9. Welcome & congrats! Nice color pick Plenty of ways to use up your spare time around here!
  10. Maybe the switch doesn't allow as much voltage or power through it on the AUTO setting compared to the ON setting? This would be ok for halogens, but since HIDs have a relatively high startup "cost", the problem would be triggered (no pun intended).
  11. It's showing up for me (on my PC, don't know if there are issues with Tapatalk or tablets etc), at the bottom of the page. http://drivebright.com/home/
  12. Finally got around to getting the Edge washed. Had enough of the winter c*** sitting on it (not caked tho). So tried something different. Spritzed the exterior with mix of Zep Citrus & Dawn 1:1 (thanks Richy!). Drove to the carwash and got an express wash, let the pressure washer work its magic. I have to say this worked out really well. Even though some of the crap got right back on it while driving home
  13. Welcome to the community! Look forward to seeing your vehicle ( ) and what you do with your vehicle Dingo has started a thread for members to list their mods: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13442-comprehensive-mod-lists/ I have compiled a thread of How To's: (by no means definitive, but hopefully makes it easier to find such things on the forum) Happy Holidays to you and yours! Hope your 2nd vehicle gets fixed quickly, without breaking the bank.
  14. Looks great, but I wouldn't want to put on a 52 lb license plate (x2?)!
  15. Hope your deployment is uneventful, and you return home safe & sound to wife & child. Thank you for your service, & for your participation on this forum
  16. Hope the flush proves to be the magic bullet!
  17. My 95 SHO was rated at 19/26. On the highway, I would get 29-30 mpg (without being overly light on throttle or speed). City was pretty much bangon. Being leadfooted definitely costs MPGs, even more so if the vehicle is not in tiptop shape.
  18. When you say "flushed heater core" did you actually mean you flushed the cooling system? Or did you disconnect/T those hoses and flush JUST the core? Right now, all kinds of possibilities are open, including: low coolant level, air trapped, thermostat opening too early or stuck open, cooling fans running all the time. Does your coolant temp gauge rise to normal and stay there while driving, or ever go towards the HOT side?
  19. I think thirdgenlxi had done something similar for his Edge. Search the forum, and/or PM him. If you want the navigation to work, you probably have to get the unit activated the way he did.
  20. Welcome, and congrats? Both look like pre-'11 models to me, so I am a teensy bit confused The '09 would be the bottom pic?
  21. Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your Edge! Good work on your upgrades and great list of future upgrades. What wheels did you go with? If tinting windows is legal in PR, you might want to get the fronts & windshield done also. What engine work are you looking to do, for appearance or power or both?
