  1. Saw a Gen 1 Edge in that color today. Unfortunately all mucked up with snow/slush/salt. Still a nice color tho!
  2. I think Larry brought up a valid point about safety. I also think that if Ford put a bit more effort and found a way to explain to the owners their reasoning, it would put the owners' minds at ease about the whole affair. For instance, why there is no reasonable expectation of "sudden failure". Head the panic off at the pass.
  3. Welcome & congrats on your MKX! The forum is a veritable goldmine of information, and I am very happy to hear it was able to help you out. Sounds like the dealer you bought it from is a good one too. Let us know how the PTU replacement pans out. And, when you get a chance, post some pix
  4. I've only read about folks with the 2.0EB Escape, and they have been very pleased thus far. Hope you get things moved around as desired.
  5. If you have to go back in for this, there should be no charge, as you have already reported this problem.
  6. They have an active HVAC system, plus they don't haven't been exposed to the wrong "tanning" treatments
  7. Actually, unless the seats are heated BEFORE you get in, -40 is like -100 on leather
  8. Maybe this polar vortex will be the tipping point.
  9. Welcome to the forum! Sounds like an electrical problem to me. When does it occur? All the time, as soon as you start it up, when the engine reaches operating temperature, with the heat on, etc.
  10. With our luck, the 3 settings would be: Can't feel it, too hot, and cremate! Seriously though, seems the 3 setting option is for those who get the leather package with their Edge.
  11. Where did you get the adapters? Thinking about this for mine as well.
  12. Welcome & congrats on your new ride of choice! for your service. I think you are probably the first person on this forum to purchase a 2014 Edge. The differences between '13 and '14 shouldn't be significant, since 2015 is the redesign year.
  13. Welcome to the forum! Do you have FWD or AWD? That will affect timing of tire replacement, as AWD should have identical tires on all 4 wheels for best performance. Wheel size? Tirerack's ratings are pretty spot-on. Unless you want winter tires, the best liked all-season tires include the Continental CrossContact LX20, Yokohama Parada Spec-X, and (I believe OEM) Pirelli Scorpion Verde. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS If your wheels are 18" or less, you could go with a winter tire, though those usually have no treadlife warranty.
  14. The seat track may need to be replaced. Most of the time that is what the resolution has been. The other thing you can check is whether the bolts holding down the tracks to the body are tight. I believe this is done from underneath the vehicle, but not 100% sure on that.
  15. Welcome & congrats! Sounds like a great find. This forum has been fun & helpful for me so far, and I hope you will find it so too! Love to see pix of your Edge
  16. Welcome & congrats! for being a teacher. Definitely take the time to go through any TSB's/recalls for your Edge. The more you learn, the more you will enjoy it! This forum is a great resource as well, and now we have the ear of Ford customer service reps directly too And, please do post some pics. Mineral Grey is a beautiful color.
  17. If you do PD the grille, should look good. Nice choice of color.
  18. 72 countries??? Wowza! Do you have your own embassies & consulates set up?
  19. Hope they work out for you. Not sure how bright they actually will be till implemented. Stated not always = actual. LEDs are literally the wild, wild west, unless getting them from reputable suppliers like DaytimeBrightLites (DTBL).
  20. Pretty sure everyone will get out of your way once they see the Edge. It just has that "sinister" vibe about it
