Hope they at least gave you a good loaner for those 23 days! That is way too long to be without your vehicle.

the drivers side door open light does not go off.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to 72harley1000's topic in 2013 Edge & MKX
I think the inner panel is glued on. Maybe a hair dryer or heat gun to help it release? Also read here that disconnecting the switch will turn off the light as well http://www.fixya.com/cars/t12642051-location_door_ajar_switch_2011_ford What did you spray the latch with? If you sprayed with WD-40, you need to follow it up with electrical parts cleaner at the very minimum. Then lube the latch to striker surfaces with "Krytox grease" (basically Teflon, I think). -
I believe you can get 17x8 in a 5x115 (or 5x4.5) pattern. That should fit your Edge and keep it to OEM sizing. http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/WheelDetails.cfm?IDNumber=rockstarblack_over&SKU=12969&CheckFit=1 Only thing I am not sure of is the offset.

Question for Todd, Our Ford Service Rep.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Larry's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Not too many folks used to manual brakes/power steering/windows etc these days. I suppose the parking brake could be used, but that also requires experience. -
Entirely possible. I assume you filled the "low" tire up to 35 psi? If there is any rust on the wheel rims, that can compromise the tire bonding and needs to be sanded off.

That is transmission fluid, PTU uses synthetic gear oil 75W140 oil (pretty standard for this AWD unit; MKX owners manual pg 305). Hopefully they did not fill the PTU with Mercon V (worth checking with them). Don't know if new PTUs come with gear oil filled or whether that is done at the shop. Maybe the transmission was already low on fluid?

2009, new(er) owner, ready to trade in...Problems.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to briandye's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Do you have warranty coverage on your Edge? The leak/drip is either an axle seal leak or a leak from the PTU vent. In either case, you need to have it serviced ASAP. Will definitely kill mileage. If out of warranty, could possibly have the PTU modified so that you can flush/change the PTU fluid easily. Look for posts by the_natrix to explain further. Brakes do tend to be noisy after the Edge has been sitting for a while, and you have had some COLD weather in your area. Changing out the pads/rotors with non-Ford parts usually resolves that issue. Keep an eye on the brake fluid level, that will tell you if there are any leaks to be concerned about. If a caliper is dragging, you can usually feel the difference in wheel temps right after hard braking, though I don't know due to the temps in your area. That would cause decreased mileage as well. -
Congrats on your new ride! Sad to see the Edge Sport go, but glad your experience was positive!

CPO? Just means you get a 1 yr/12K mile bumper2bumper. You are at 64K now, right? Check your paperwork, that should tell you exactly when your coverage ends. You would have to purchase additional coverage to get to the 100K mark. Now Lincolns get better coverage than Fords, or so I have heard.

3 chirps when remote locking. 2011 edge base model
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to 2011edgese's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
So 2 chirps for hatch, 3 for driver door being open? Good to know. -
Welcome to the forum. What year Edge/MKX do you have? Could be a stuck sensor. Can you keep the vehicle in a warm (above freezing at least) location for a day or two?
-
Does it seem to retain the temp value from when the vehicle was shut off? That's what mine would do.

Welcome Ashley, and see you around on Monday, Todd! -
RX300?

I believe these apply to 2011 models. TSB has no relationship to "free" or "covered" repair. It is simply an advisory of a fix to a known problem. If you have existing warranty (3/36) / powertrain coverage (5/60), unless you have a deductible of some sort, the service should be free-of-charge to you.

Hmm. According to the owner's guide (pg 243), the fuses controlling the heated mirrors/defroster are #28 and 39 respectively in the underhood power distribution box. 29 & 38 are their respective relays. Worth a look. How is the '99 Continental maintenance-wise?

13N02 - Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Booster
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to omar302's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
I believe all Edge's (at least for NA) are built at the Oakville plant in Canada. Your VIN will give you all the info you need regarding that. https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin-decoder/ Now, exact date of build, I do not know. That may be on the door sticker (where they typically note things like gross vehicle weight and tire pressures) or on the online window sticker. -
Could be a TSB (13-3-18 or 11-5-6) needing to be performed, hopefully just a PCM update.
