  1. Best to ask the experienced tuner you work with, but AFAIK, it doesn't void the warranty. Assuming of course you don't try to do anything wild with the tune. And, you should try to find a dealer that is kosher with tuned vehicles. Makes it easier in the long run.
  2. So they didn't replace the seat track? Go to them with the TSB in hand (http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13892-passanger-seat-creaking-noise/?do=findComment&comment=107665) as teknowiz pointed out. Maybe a washer is missing somewhere and that is preventing the nuts/bolts being tightened down properly.
  3. Need to do a tally and see if the problem is across all years or became more prevalent with the 2011 introduction. Anybody had a replacement TB fail?
  4. Haven't tried it myself, but a couple of others on this forum report improved acceleration and transmission shift performance. Can be used to increase mpg as well, if that is your goal.
  5. From your testing, it seems the output is a standard 500mA @ 5V or 2.5W. Which USB port are you using? Tried them all? Either use a power adapter with the lighter port or hardwire your own USB ports for power (on their own circuit, or tapped off the lighter port circuit).
  6. Don't know if unplugging the battery depowers the SRS, but at least on the 2007, the pad is removable according to the manual. Remove the 3 cushion thermal electric device (TED)-to-cushion frame screws.Remove the cushion TED-to-climate control seat cushion adapter screw and remove the TED.
  7. You have an '07 right? What trim level, what size wheels do you have on there? There was a recent discussion about this, where weight of packed snow in the wheels can cause them to become unbalanced, as you surmised.
  8. If the toothbrush cannot be trusted, wrap a nice microfiber cloth around it. That is sure not to damage the TB plate. When I last looked at the TB a couple of months ago, I saw a light golden color on it, but no heavy oiling or crusting. Left it alone at that point.
  9. Aha! TSB Number: 12-6-2 Vehicles: 2009-11 Ford Edge and Mercury MKX Condition: Corrosion on the lip of 22-inch wheels and whiskers/vents on the tire’s bead seat may cause the TPMS to illuminate. Solution: Disassemble the rim and tire and clean the rim flange and tire bead with a Scotch-Brite pad.
  10. Let's see what happens over time. After I cleaned the MAF, it felt better, but the feeling didn't last very long, so maybe the PCM is doing a "minor" relearn as it adjusts to the improved MAF input.
  11. So much attention has been focused on the PTU/trans that little discussion has been made on the driveshaft/RDU. Hopefully it is an easily resolveable issue with bushings on the driveshaft or fluid replacement on the RDU. Don't know if any programming is involved directly to control the RDU.
  12. Haven't seen any for the 11+ MY's. You could make your own as a DIY Project, haven't seen anyone do it for the Edge yet.
  13. Except for the fuel injectors. They tick like crazy, and not just on the Edge!
  14. Levittown has it for $197 + S/H. So yeah, maybe they just did a cleaning on the TB? Or replaced the PCV valve?
  15. Ha! Wanted to cross-check what this dealer did
  16. Welcome to the community, and congrats on your Edge! No question about wanting to see pics Where are they already??? The Subaru and Lexus products are nice too! Interested in what mods you come up with, quite a few mod ideas on this forum to glean from, even more always welcome
  17. Very interesting. No self-healing, Terminator-type properties for that glass!
  18. What oil are you using in your Edge, 2011edgese? If it's the recommended 5w-20, you might try going to 0w-20 (better viscosity at lower temps, tho normally should NOT be needed) and see if the problem goes away even in colder weather. Still a lubrication problem IMHO.
  19. Used to be on the window sticker that you looked up online, but that info is no longer on there. ETIS is the only reliable source I know of, other than a dealer of course. https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do Do you have Java enabled on your Note 2? From your browser, enter the advanced menu settings to check. Otherwise you will likely need a Java emulator installed.
  20. This link was posted before, I believe: https://www.etis.ford.com/ Click on Vehicle, then enter the VIN number in the box provided.
  21. Stuck between snowstorms and thunderstorms. Had to go through the carwash twice today to get the muck & salt off the Edge. Still a bit dirty, but so much better! Now on to tomorrow's thunderstorms ... Grrrrrrrr! Weathertech mats have been a lifesaver. Too many automatic carwashes still closed for business.
