  1. pg 155 of the owner's manual: Auxiliary power points may be found: •on the passenger side of the center console near the instrument panel •in the center console storage compartment •on the rear of the center console •on the left rear quarter panel, accessible from the liftgate or behind the rear seat
  2. Welcome to the community & congrats on your new ride.
  3. Can you post a picture of the problem area, and what you have purchased? I thought the emblems were retained by 2 long screws/bolts.
  4. I think there are a few people on this forum who can answer this question, and I hope they chime in soon. Checking the FSM, I see approximately 120 steps to removing the camshafts, which has to be done prior to removing the heads ("only" 30+ steps more). Not an in-vehicle repair, unlike vehicles of the past.
  5. Which engine plant in Cleveland? I found this one that makes the 3.5L Ecoboost, does it make the NA version as well? I read that it makes the 3.7L engine too? http://americanautoworker.com/location-info.php?location_id=285 http://www.at.ford.com/news/cn/ArticleArchives/Ford%E2%80%99sClevelandEngine.aspx
  6. Congrats on your new Edge, Scott, and best wishes for a long & happy service history Mineral gray is a NICE color.
  7. Add this to the list of various electrical connector issues, not a good place to have it, agreed.
  8. Should be in Lima, OH http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/ford-s-duratec-35-engine-v6-35-ar26325/picture143231.html http://www.at.ford.com/news/Plants/Pages/default.aspx?PlantName=Lima%20Engine
  9. Which kit did you get, specifically? The 9005, 9006, 9012 ...? What is your stock lighting (halogen, HID, etc.)? Did you compare the bases of the stock vs Morimoto bulbs?
  10. Sandy, this work is a far cry from a transmission rebuild. It is a "simple" modification/replacement of parts in the transmission, and an update to the computer to the current software version.
  11. Welcome to the forum, Rebecca, and looking forward to any help you can provide to our community!
  12. Quite a few instances of this happening, and reported on this forum. Possible weak point is the headlamp switch with both signal and power running thru it. May work better with power directly tied to battery, with otherwise stock type wiring through the switch.
  13. Tire pressures were OK after you got home and let them cool down?
  14. This video from AmmoNYC (a reputable detailing products company) should help:
  15. This is the thread I was thinking of regarding clearing the vent lines: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12224-fuel-tank-filling-problem/
  16. Looking forward to your update/recap, Scott!
  17. Found this quick video showing how to check ATF level. Remember to verify in the owner's manual, but basically, from a cold start, run your engine for about 20 miles at highway speeds (stop and go will be too variable). Park the vehicle and apply the parking brake. Run through the gears slowly one at a time, while also firmly keeping your foot on the service brake pedal. Return to PARK, then follow the procedure in the video below. http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2008_Ford_Edge_SE_3.5L_V6/transmission_fluid/check_fluid_level This shows a fluid change on a Flex, but should be very similar for the Edge: Use one of these funnels to avoid fillup spillage http://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-FloTool-06064-Transmission-Funnel/dp/B00004X143/
  18. I am sure Todd from Ford Customer Service will chime in when he sees your post, and can point you to a dealership you will be happy with. As far as warranty coverage, not to throw cold water on this issue, but that depends on the date of original purchase, also known as in-service date. If you grab the VIN, you can lookup any outstanding service bulletins etc. here: http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do I am sure Todd (or a dealer or anyone with access to OASIS or Carfax/AutoCheck) can find the in-service date for you.
  19. Made a mistake yesterday. While filling up gas, decided to clean the windows. Now, instead of having fine gray dust all over, I have huge runny streaks of gray all over. Argh! Time to wash & wax yet AGAIN!
  20. Did you go with the OEM filters, or aftermarket? Get a chance to detail your Edge lately?
  21. Cool, hope the next update(!) is a happy one
  22. Yeah, it's a bit funky, I believe one of the main reasons is spam prevention.
