What oil and filter are you using, Josh? This engine seems to prefer the OEM Motorcraft FL400S, due to the location of the bypass valve at the base end as opposed to most other filters, providing lubrication that much quicker to the engine on startup. If the sound goes on for a few minutes, it could be due to inadequate lubrication through the cam phasers, so keeping a tight schedule on OCs is an excellent recommendation.

Could very well be one or more wheel bearings going out. Sometimes brake pad/rotor interaction can also cause grinding noises when turning if the pads are not seating properly. Should all be under b2b warranty, so definitely have the dealer look at this.

I am still thinking "fogged" assemblies that could clear up with a bit of polishing.

By frequency of occurrence, I suspect the cooling fan motor is at fault. What year Edge (11+?)? Details on your HID kit? Brand/color temperature? 55W HID should be powered directly from battery.

Replacing the thermostat would be a good idea. I'd also make sure the radiator fans are coming on when the temp is getting that high. The fan motor might have failed. Caps do get stuck on occasion as well, tho not as much with today's vehicles it seems.

Do you have a service like AAA or emergency road service thru your insurance? No clue on availability of these things in Canada. I am sure long booster cables are available though, unless you are parked in a 3-sided corner of a parking garage. I have seen 20' long cables listed for local pickup in auto stores. You could ask them for help also, see if they will help you with a loaner jumpstarter? BTW, getting more than 3 years out of a car battery nowadays is a miracle due to the demands put on them by modern electronics.

Not sure what the problem could be. Looks like a wire for the ignition coil nearest the blue wire has come off. I looked at mine and it is a white wire with a blue stripe, so maybe yours is a ground wire? Also sounds like your battery is weak/drained or the starter is dying. It should turn the engine over much faster than that. I assume it is a 2007-10 Edge? How old is the battery? Are your headlights (and accessories) turned to the OFF position when trying to crank the engine? That will allow the battery to provide more power towards starting the vehicle.

Well, aside from the fuel pump, I would check the alternator (full diagnostic) & grounds. A fried diode might cause a whine even with ignition turned off. If you had buzzing, i would have suspected fuel injectors/connectors or ignition coils.

That is definitely a most annoying sound. I assume it gets louder if you open the hood? It's almost as if the fuel pump doesn't stop priming. Try turning the Ignition Switch to RUN (don't start), then back to OFF and take the key back out. Does the noise still continue?

Ugh! Have you pulled the codes yet? You could still have gotten a faulty part, unfortunately. Try unplugging and reseating the electrical connector on the TB. You previously had the "harsh thrust when accelerating from a stop". Has this symptom returned? Does the engine run rough or misfire at any point?

It could be fuel pump or subwoofer whine (if it seems to be coming from the back of the vehicle) or gear whine (front OR back). Do you have AWD? Check all fluid levels, including trans, PTU and RDU. Refill/replace fluids as needed. Do you drive with your windows down at all? Does the intensity of the sound change when you do so? Sometimes there can be a shrill whistling sound from the outside mirror(s). If you can put a video or audio file for us, that might help us isolate the possible cause(s) as well.

If I remember correctly, the ABS system/wheel speed sensors have been the culprits in the past. Another thing to check would be the OSS/TSS sensors. Put it back to stock if you are concerned, but seems like the dealership already knows about your CAI?
