  1. Welcome to the community, glad to have you and your '10 Edge here! Put up some pics so we can figure out what all it needs by way of mods to keep it running
  2. I believe there are aftermarket installs for the Gen 1 Edge that maybe you could see if it works for you. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/2016-thinking-of-replacing-my-edges-navigation-system-with-aftermarket/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/3564-aftermarket-audio-wiring-harness-recommendations/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/7415-edge-mid-range-touchscreen-stereo-upgrade-top-to-bottom/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/1604-stereo-upgrade/ http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10959-08-edge-build-log
  3. Congrats on your Edge and welcome to the forum! CAI won't really do much for performance, at least by itself, but can really improve the looks. I assume you have the 3.7L? You could probably add a CAI, bigger TB, dual catbacks ALONG WITH (most importantly) a custom tune (e.g. from Unleashed Tuning in FL torrie@unleashedtuning.com). THEN you would get that SPORTy feeling you so desire :D
  4. Do you have active shutters on your Edge, traxiii?
  5. Is it consistent as to when & where this happens? Could be weather or electronic interference. May also need re-aiming/re-alignment. Finally, the sensor itself may be faulty. Supposedly there is a TSB for this, but I have not been able to locate one yet.
  6. Nice! Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your (wife's) Edge. These vehicles are great for road trips; log some miles and tell us what you think!
  7. Could be an intake gasket failure or oil cooler failure as well, just to add to the confusion ... http://www.2carpros.com/articles/coolantantifreeze-in-the-engine-oil
  8. Probably should replace the TSS and OSS in pairs, to avoid the dreaded ODO Error that crops up later on in the service life. Any trouble with shifting or does it feel like there is a misfire? Wheel speed sensors are also known to go bad from time to time. And BTW, try cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner to see if that makes any difference. It can cause symptoms like a slipping gear or hesitation or power loss etc.
  9. Just follow the instructions on the can. It can be used in the fuel tank or the induction system. Remember to change out your oil & filter within the 500-1000 miles following such service. Luckily we don't have to worry about GDI in the 2011 MYs.
  10. Looking forward to some pics/vids of your new switchbacks! As far as the reverse bulbs, Dingo's are still the hardest to beat. BUT I finally found a cheapo LED pair http://www.ebay.com/itm/231207767969?item=231207767969 that actually lights up the area behind the Edge well enough to see I wouldn't count on the lumen rating though, as with any of these LED products.
  11. http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/rebate/en_US/883.pdf $10 gas card for 4-5, $20 for 6+. Luckily most of us Edge/MKX owners need 6 For the 3.5L V6 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Autolite-Double-Plat-Spark-Plug/_/N-jq6fpZ8gctd?itemIdentifier=438165_0_0_ http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Autolite-XP-Iridium-Spark-Plug/_/N-jq6fpZ8gctd?itemIdentifier=896895_0_0_ For the 3.7L V6 and 2.0L EB http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Autolite-XP-Iridium-Spark-Plug/_/N-k6n11Z8gctd?itemIdentifier=227553_0_0_ Additional savings if ordering online: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/landing/page.jsp?name=autozone-savings
  12. Awesome! Might want to run some Listerine spray through the vents for 30 min with heat on max (I know, summertime, right?) to keep the bad stuff out. Hopefully you won't need to foam the evaporator core as well.
  13. Welcome to the community, and congrats on your '07 SEL! I also picked one up with around 75K on the clock For some reason, the View New Content did not pick up this topic, so apologize for the delay in responding. What kind of repairs are you looking at?
  14. http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-recalls-100k-vehicles-over-various-defects.html These vehicles were built with a driveshaft that is prone to failure, causing potential loss of power while driving or a rollaway when parked. The issue affects approximately 92,000 vehicles, including the 2013-2014 Ford Taurus, Police Interceptor and Flex; the 2013-2014 Lincoln MKS and MKT; the 2012-2014 Ford Edge, and the 2012-2014 Lincoln MKX. Check your VIN at owner.ford.com to see if your vehicle is involved.
  15. I assume your AC is running all the time, that and your radiator fans, arabski? Does the Sport come with an upgraded engine cooling package (like a towing package here in the US) to handle the higher ambients? And yes, a 15 gallon tank IS a joke with those mpgs for sure. Now if your avg was 20+, not TOO bad A lower temp thermostat MAY help, people here in hot climates claim the engine runs cooler. Also, a tune that accomodates your particular conditions could help max your mpgs.
  16. The heat's been nuts here (except after the rains), but glad I'm not anywhere near AZ! Automatic touchless carwash is my friend
  17. Happy 4th to you, Tricia! Hope to see you happy & recovered by Monday
  18. Since the brake booster works off engine vacuum, you should get a hard pedal if the engine is not operating.
  19. Any update, Prinzll? Sorry, don't have exp with BOTH of them. I did have ProACTs (at mechanic's recommendation for my SHO), quiet, not dusty, but horrible stopping power. They may have updated the formulation since then though.
  20. How did I miss this??? Welcome to the forum, and great choice for your new ride! Sounds like you got a great deal too, well done Looking forward to some pix hint, hint.
  21. Time for a trip to Canada, me thinks. Just push it on the train by yourself
  22. C'mon, Ford! Get it on the early morning train to mindawyn!
  23. The usual way to check for warpage is to use a dial indicator and check for runout. If there is excessive variation, say over 0.003", the rotor is consider warped and should be turned on a lathe. The lug nuts need to be torqued properly (not overtightened) to prevent warped rotors. Maybe your brake pads need to be re-seated/shimmed on the right side? During sudden braking, they would give themselves away as they would not be able to seat properly at once.
  24. Towards the back, above/behind the stamped letters/numbers. I was thinking maybe residue from previous service/leak, but wasn't sure.
