  1. Tow package or not? Same coolant, 1 quart more for tow package setup. Get 4 gallons of the coolant (50/50) or 2 gallons unmixed. Engine coolant 11.7 quarts (11.09L) Motorcraft Specialty Green Engine Coolant VC-10-A (US) CVC-10-A (Canada) / WSS-M97B55-A Engine coolant–with trailer tow package 12.83 quarts (12.14L) Motorcraft Specialty Green Engine Coolant VC-10-A (US) CVC-10-A (Canada) / WSS-M97B55-A Type should be listed on the overflow bottle cap, I think, just to verify. Petcock is on the lower driver side of the radiator. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/PartDetail.aspx?n=5XXO8s48F4CfMMC8wznJKg%3d%3d&id=287852984&m=2&search=true&year=2009&make=Ford&model=Edge
  2. If you are not currently experiencing any problems, don't worry about remaining "yellow" mixing in with the "red" fluid. Do the 3x exchange with the "red" fluid, make sure there are no metallic particles in the fluid you drain, and you should be good to go as far as fluid is concerned. For the 2008 Ford Edge, you should be using Mercon V, not Dexron anything. 3. Glad you haven't exactly "gotten rid of" the Edge Great summary of your experiences, Sync has been a sore spot for many, a black spot on a white shirt if you will. Congrats on your new ride of choice, looks great. Wish they'd give the diesel engine option to the Edge, but I think EcoBoost is the big push at Ford, now with AWD as of 2015 MY. Getting above rated mpg is awesome! Which MINI do you have? Pics?
  4. One of your supplier choices: http://cd3performance.com/Ford-Edge/FE-Exhaust
  5. Nice find! Dyno chart here; http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/77-2583_dyno.pdf For the 2007-10 Edge (assuming MKX also): http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/77-2574_dyno.pdf
  6. Looks like I'm at the limit for gallery uploads, so I have to attach these image files instead. A couple of views of the wiper arm attachment point, a view of the wiper blade attachment point, and a comparison of the old/new blade (WW-1412). No trick really, just requires some steady force if not using a tool of some sort. Fairly simple to do a refill also.
  7. Paul, I think you need a min of 5 posts to use PMs. Go here http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11866-test/ and make 4 more posts to get to that 5 count.
  8. Regardless of which product you go with, keep the blades wiped down, as they tend to gather all kinds of dirt & grit that end up scratching the glass. That then makes visibility poorer than it needs to be.
  9. This little thread on hood deflectors may help you: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10994-opinions-on-hood-deflectors/
  10. Welcome to the forum, Greg, and congrats on your Edge! What color scheme did you get, AWD/FWD? Is this your first Ford? Any mods planned? Pix?
  11. Hopefully the Ford Customer Service Rep (Tricia) on this forum will see this soon & help you out. This being a long weekend coming up, there may be some communications delays. Please don't give up!
  12. I must have the only Edge with the ADKH (all door key hole) feature Doh. Wonder if simply working the handle a few times could be a mechanical substitute?
  13. Nice to find a dealer that may actually have a solution J/K! Eager to find out what the ultimate problem was found to be.
  14. Tried the physical- key-in-the-lock method yet? Apparently working the lock this way a few times works too.
  15. Maybe the Kodiak Brown Edges are the ones to get Very cool.
  16. Welcome to the forum, aspin, & congrats! Please put up an intro thread for yourself, would love to get to know you and your Edge better! Good luck with the trip to FL
  17. Welcome to our community, azitaliass, and congrats on the Edge! What trim level, AWD/FWD? Would love to see some pics Here is a thread to help you get started on mods (by no means all-inclusive, but gives you an idea): http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12565-how-tos-powertrain-electronics-body-more/ I did put a shorty antenna on the Edge, as many have done, and have had no problems with car washes (brushless only) or radio reception.
  18. Welcome to the forum! How many miles on your MKX? These TSBs come to mind as possibilities: http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=139970 http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=172679 http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=176597 http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=147858 So the suspects are: broken orifice cup, transmission range sensor, TSS/OSS sensors, or PCM calibration. I don't think it needs a valve body modification. Most likely an intermittent short in the transmission range sensor. tsb07-21-11 6F50 TRANSAXLES BUILT PRIOR TO 10-21-2007—DTC P0715, P0717, P0718, P0720, P0721, P0722 AND-OR HARSH ENGAGEMENT, NO UPSHIFT, FIFTH GEAR ONLY 2007-08 Edge.pdf tsb09-02-07_Flex MKS Harsh 1-2 Shift.pdf tsb10-09-09_6F50-6F55 TRANSMISSION - DTC P0751 - HARSH OR NO FORWARD ENGAGEMENTS - PERCEIVED SLIP ON ACCELERATION - SLIP-DELAYED AND-OR HARSH DOWNSHIFTS.pdf tsb11-12-10 6F50-55 Transmission slow acceleration 0-8mph followed by harsh bump or slip on takeoff followed by bump built before 20110415.pdf
  19. I assume this is in relation to the oxygen sensors? Do you know the exact codes? That would tell you which one may need replacement. For example: http://www.obd-codes.com/p2272
  20. If they don't cover under warranty, there are a couple of HOW TOs to help you DIY for the cost of the part. Good luck!
  21. Would a USB SD card reader not work? Thinkin' aloud ...
  22. Sorry to hear about your experience, please keep us updated with what happens, and hope the dealership can get it sorted out in short order.
  23. Are all the brake lights inoperative or just the high mount or ? Can you shift into neutral without the Edge started? If so, do that, then start the Edge and try shifting into another gear (reverse/drive etc.). Could be the Transmission Range sensor. Could also be a fuse for the stoplamp switch (#71, 10A I think), or compromised wiring on that fuse. You have to be careful not to press/pull/touch the brake pedal during the stoplamp switch replacement procedure also. To quote the service manual: Normal Operation The stoplamp switch is supplied voltage through circuit SBB71 (WH/RD) from the battery junction box (BJB). When the brake pedal is applied, the stoplamp switch routes voltage to the smart junction box (SJB) and the high mounted stoplamp through circuit CCB08 (VT/WH). Installation CAUTION: It is very important to not press, pull or touch the brake pedal assembly during the installation of the stoplamp switch. Failure to follow these instructions may damage the stoplamp switch. Exactly what problem did you have that required battery replacement? Was it leaking badly?
  24. Welcome to the forum, memphis2857 from IN Nice looking Edge! Unfortunately, this is a well known issue, with no formal resolution (TSB) that I know of. I assume the Edge is still under OEM warranty? I would take it back to the dealer and make them fix it. Most likely it is a blocked fueling pipe or one of the evap system's pipes. Mazda recently had recalls for spiders in the lines (!). Could be something similar going on here. I know spider activity has really picked up around here this year unlike any other in recent memory. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12224-fuel-tank-filling-problem/ Are you filling at the max setting, did you try slower fill rates?
