Ford Family! Welcome to the Edge community, glad to have you & your '11 Edge here. Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you all, but be sure to document any problems for warranty purposes. Pix please (of all your rides)?

Also may be caused by blocked/clogged fuel filler neck or vent lines, sometimes fixable via compressed air. Best to take it to a mechanic or dealer to have it checked out.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about the brake issue, unfortunately seems all too common a problem with the 2011+ nowadays. Tricia is our Ford customer service liaison on this forum. I am sure she will see this post and respond soon. I think you have to have 5 posts before you can PM anyone, most people use the topic titled Test Forum to get to that count quickly when needed.

2013 edge interior odor
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Thomaswh3's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
An oldtimer's technique is to get the car up to operating temperature (outside), open up all the windows, get the heat running full blast, and spray Lysol into the cowl for maybe 15-30 seconds. Let the heat run for 30 minutes. This should help quite a bit. If that does not work, spraying the coils with something like this foaming cleaner should do the trick. -
Same size tire? Compare the reviews on www.tirerack.com to view performance characteristics. As long as the performance is not significantly different and your driving style is not aggressive, you should be OK. Might be more of an issue if you had AWD and were on snow/ice/muddy travel lanes. I'd press for a tire replacement paid for by the dealer, but they might say the deal they made took that "issue" into consideration.

Yeah, you would have to un-rivet, then re-rivet the LPB. No way to go without the front LPB in TX? Otherwise you could fill it in with a bumper plug then PD over it.
-
Details please?

Overkill to reset PCM, but if you believe the filter by itself makes a significant difference, it won't hurt anything either to reset.

For doing the 3-time method, no hoses need to be removed, that's the whole point! Just remove the transmission drain plug, drain, reinstall plug. That's it! If you were FLUSHING the transmission (not necessarily recommended), then you'd have to deal with hoses & such. The 3-time method gets you pretty close to a 100% fluid replacement, which is what you want. It is recommended by a trustworthy Ford tech (thirdgenlxi). The location the plug is in a pic in the #19 post in this thread http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/2040-transmission-fluid-replace/?do=findComment&comment=97281 and explained in #20.

Thanks for the update! The cycle is starting a little late in the year though, isn't it?

You woulda thunk a CTS would outpace the Edge in performance at least. Interesting.

Great relationship, business the way it should be

If you wind up being happy with the dealer's work & attitude, please consider posting up their info so others can be helped

Would be nice if these results hold over time!

There's no set interval for MAF cleaning/check. If you want to be preventive, since you are running a K&N, maybe do it every 30,000 miles (normal filter change interval)? Definitely do it shortly AFTER you clean/oil the K&N just in case any excess gets stuck on there. IMHO.

Wheel gap needed some closing for sure

I hope not, but I pray for reunion of family, unharmed.
-
Very, very nice!

How many miles/kms, Thomas? Did they mention a warranty with the service? No "parts" were apparently replaced, but at least the issue is on record, providing leverage for lowering the TSB cost if it does need to be performed.

City driving is going to be tough on mileage, no question. You should be getting somewhat better, if you don't accelerate hard all the time, unless you have no chance to go easy on the gas between lights. I think you'd qualify for severe duty service intervals. So spark plug replacement was a good idea. You mentioned transmission fluid in another thread. Once you get the Mercon V in there, hopefully you will see improvement in transmission behavior, and quite likely mpg as well. I'd also consider changing out the PTU and RDU fluids as well.

Welcome to the forum, Tom, and congrats on your Edge! Would love to see some pics of all your rides, quite a stable you've got going there!
-
Sounds like the problem has been correctly identified, bokes! Hope they get the Edge fixed up ASAP. Interesting this is not an issue on 2007-10, so must be a design change on 2011+ ...

The PTU (or PTO) exists only in AWD vehicles, so yes, AWD issue only.
