  1. Seat belts, seat tracks, and track fasteners (underneath the vehicle) can all cause rattles. Is there something loose between the seat bottom & carpet (wiring/connector or something left there by mistake), or a door sill loose by any chance?
  2. A course of Auto-Rx might help, tho a bit expensive. I guess you pay for the higher concentrations of seal conditioners in that product vs what you typically find in HM oil. Haven't tried it myself, but at least some people on other forums say it works. Cleans up the varnish quite well also. EDIT: I have seen mention of PCV systems contributing to oil/seal leaks. Have you replaced the PCV valve ever on your Edge? http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/197
  3. 22 mpg ... either all/mostly highway, or FWD, right? Would be quite the feat with AWD in mixed or city driving. Can't wait to see pics of your new wheels/tires mounted on the Sport!
  4. It's nice to have our own captive (though mercurial) pool of Ford folks on here
  5. Have you used R1 concepts products before? How did you find them?
  6. Kinda hard to tell about quality nowadays even if you buy brand names. Are you going to put Motorcraft on the left front?
  7. Lighting is so difficult to capture correctly, appreciate the effort!
  8. I don't know if the SKF "kit" is pre-assembled, but if so, then yes. You can get the Ford parts from LevittownFordSuperCenter here. Ask Benny/PM him at Levittown if you have any questions. The special tools needed, according to the service manual, are these a front hub remover, and a tie-rod remover while removing the knuckle. While removing the hub, you need Pinion Bearing Cone Remover, Wheel Hub Bearing Cup Installer & Remover, and Stop Plate For full instructions, see the free Chilton's manual, available here. Click on the infotrac URL near the bottom, then click on PROCEED. Pick your vehicle, then Repair, Suspension, Front Suspension. You will see the info you need for the entire process. First the Wheel Knuckle section, then the Wheel Hubs & Bearings section.
  9. TSBs are covered under warranty only if you have an existing warranty for the item and/or the TSB itself "extends" warranty coverage. Rust coverage unfortunately is a "penetration only" type coverage. Actually have to make a hole in the sheetmetal. Wheel bearings should be covered under powertrain/drivetrain warranty. If you are under the 5 yr/60K umbrella or have extended warranty that covers these items, you should be good.
  10. If you have good mechanical skills, yes, you can do it yourself. You can probably loan the tools from an auto parts store, don't know how it works up in Canada. Bearings & hubs are available integrated these days, no need to press in/out. OEM is fine, Timken is usually a good aftermarket alternative. Cost is not that much more for the integrated part over just the bearing.
  11. Glad to still have you in the fold Put up some pics, and good luck!
  12. Welcome to the forum, suggee! Yeah, the mpg displays are generally optimistic, I usually get 0.5 mpg lower by hand calculation on a regular basis (same station, same pump, first click off). Not to worry, you can factor it in from experience I hope you are resetting the mpg/trip displays every time you fill up the Edge? That would get closest to maximum accuracy for the current trip. City driving is murder on mileage, with all its' stop and go situations. If the cooling fans are constantly cycling, that will eat into your mileage. Short distance driving is a challenge too if the engine does not get to run for a sufficient time at operating temperature (not to mention the transmission) to return the expected mileage. You can try running a bottle of Techron fuel injector cleaner when you fillup the tank next. Dump in the cleaner, then refuel. At a maximum, that is all you should need with such limited total miles on the vehicle. The cleaner is especially useful if you are not using one of the better quality gasoline brands. And when in doubt, have the dealer pull any trouble codes set in the computer. There are service bulletins (TSBs) out there specifically for the Ecoboost engines in the Edge. One or more may apply.
  13. Welcome to the forum, Jimeld! This thread may help. Post your question there as well maybe if you don't get a response in this thread.

They are different, at least going by P/Ns and pricing. MOTORCRAFT Part # DY1056 Downstream MOTORCRAFT Part # DY1064 Upstream NTK Part # 22046 Upstream (OEM) NTK Part # 22500 Downstream (OEM) There is a possibility that the sensors are identical but used in different ways by the ECU, or that wiring length is the only difference (clearance), but I wouldn't take that chance. Are you still under the emissions warranty?
  15. Nope, sadly. Do you think that's what the problem might be? On the low-beams at least, there is kind of a cube with one side open that caps the bulb/LED portion of the light. You'd think once light scatters inside that and reflects out to the lens, it wouldn't make a difference. i THINK the cap is opaque.
  16. Good luck, Guindalf! So no key on the door? Can't even suggest the manual lock/unlock cycling method

  18. I am currently in the process of testing TXT LED lighting on my '07 Edge, and have yet to be swayed to the effectiveness of the beam pattern. Runs fine, but not enough light on the road, illuminates road signs very well though! I would like to see a bulb-like capsule over the LEDs to provide OEM-style light scatter, but that's just me. I assume the heatsinks could do with regular cleaning though as dirt will accumulate over time and decrease effectiveness. Not quite sealed against the elements, more like computer CPU heatsinks. Mine are fanless, fans will draw in even more contaminants unless you put some kind or sock/filter over it. As far as lumens claims, who really knows? I still really really like my Osram Night Breaker Plus 1900 lumen (?) lighting, though now I think you get Unlimited versions instead of the Plus. BTW, Dan at DTBL has HID kits for the Edge, so worth looking at. I am sure, like all his other products, they will be quality. AND customer feedback goes into improving product quality as well!
  19. Welcome to Edge ownership and the forum, Matt! I am sure our intrepid membership (including Rebecca from Ford's In-Vehicle Tech team) can have you sorted out shortly
  20. If it's a painted surface, a little Meguiars 205 polish on a microfiber cloth/pad should get the scratches right out. If it is not painted, maybe a bit of Collinite Metal Wax or Blue Magic Metal Polish with #0000 steel wool would do the trick.
  21. Welcome, nice looking Edge Bet you can't wait to get it home! Trouble with the "captcha" verification thingy?
