  1. Electrical gremlins? Start with battery check, no matter how unlikely. What is the build date for your Edge? Look under the VEHICLE tab and enter your VIN there. http://www.etis.ford.com/selector.do
  2. Maybe the hazards/brake lights should be automatically activated as a warning signal to other drivers in the event of such "disablement". Brakeless slowdown is still dangerous, as most traffic today tends to follow closely, and the CUV is not exactly aerodynamic/drivetrain-efficient. An automatic warning to other drivers would be very helpful, as a workaround, since there ARE other conditions that can disable the powertrain.
  3. You can attach the picture by selecting MORE REPLY OPTIONS and accessing the advanced entry box/BROWSE there. You can also add pictures to your pic gallery by clicking on PHOTO GALLERY, then on the UPLOAD link (on the right) on the page that comes up. Create an album & upload pics to that. Then link back here.
  4. BG Fuel/Air induction service performed today. Had to fill up gas tank to provide correct dilution. Need tires/alignment soon. Thinking of the Conti LX20, but will be looking for deals on comparable performers.
  5. Do you have the recall notice yet, CinnamonEdge? If so (or when you get it), could you post it please? TIA!
  6. It's pretty hard to pull them out on the 2007 too! I guess a couple of suction cups or ribbed gloves would be helpful in pulling the lights straight out, though usually I can get a good grip on the plastic with my palms and pull straight out.
  7. Ford gets a lot of things right, just need to fix the few things that are consistently proving to be an issue. Maybe not a recall, but an extended warranty for the parts in question would be a nice start.
  8. Welcome to the community, l1master, quite the story on your new 2013 Edge! Enjoy the trip to Vegas, and bring back stories & pics Now that it is cleaned up, what color Edge did you actually buy?
  9. 235/65-17 is the OEM size for 17" wheels. 265 width would give you 1.2 inches of additional overhang, or 0.6 inches on either side. The proposed tire would also throw off your speedometer readings significantly. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php?tires=235-65r17-265-70r17 Do you have OEM 17's?
  10. Either Ford hasn't figured out why these problems (door latch, TB, fuel tank) are happening, or they think the chances of anything major resulting are minimal. At this point, it can't possibly be a lack of awareness of the existence of these problems. For example, there is a TSB for the door ajar issue, even tho it may not be a permanent fix. TSBs should be issued for these other common problems too. Are they even in the works?
  11. Does sound like your commute is a prime candidate for a hybrid vehicle of some sort, as akirby mentioned.
  12. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/6122-diy-for-installing-homelink-in-se-sel-and-sport-edges/
  13. The battery is usually at the root of the major gremlins, especially if over 3 years of age.
  14. If the latest software version is loaded, the dealer may need to reboot the camera module or replace the actual camera.
  15. Welcome & congrats on your '11 SEL! Have fun with the MFT What color did you go with? How much mileage on the 2011 now, and how much do you anticipate putting on it yearly? Are you putting away money in a kitty for unexpected repairs? Are you a regular maintenance fanatic? Then you likely do not need the Ford ESP. But if you do want the extended warranty, the Ford ESP is likely your best bet (online dealer like Flood Ford).
  16. Only dealership & Ford employees have access to OASIS (technically speaking). Maybe thirdgenlxi (Jared) can run one for you? I will PM him, since you need to have 5 posts before you can PM. Oh, and welcome! Put up an intro in the New Members section
  17. I am not sure, but this is my guess: the slots on the driver side are there mainly to allow for liquids & debris to flow off the windshield and down the drains. There are more on the passenger side because that is where the air intake for the climate control system is located. If the water is getting under this plastic moulding through the slots, it's as intended. Just make sure the long strip seals are present & accounted for when you open the hood and look at the firewall side of the bay. You can always remove the moulding & clean underneath, get a really good look to make sure paint is not rusting or chipping.
  18. If you have a physical key entry on the door, work it with the key (lock/unlock a few times) first. Use the electrical parts cleaner, and away from WD-40. If the issue returns, replace the part. There are a couple of how-tos on doing this. Good luck!
  19. Likely fit only the Edge/MKX with the 3.7 (Mustang) engine. Good find nonetheless.
  20. Do you think something changed for the '14 MY that caused this issue, or simply a production-time aberrance?
  21. Welcome to the community, congrats on grabbing that '14 Edge What are your other rides? Feel free to lurk, but def post pics
