  1. You'd feel right at home in VA then LOL. Some parts of MD too! A focus/flood LED bar would be nice.
  2. I just wish they made the struts for the hatch as well! Seems like a yearly replacement item to me.
  3. Looks great "in person"! Like the interior handles & the hood struts. Could've washed the wheels for this presentation Still severely dislike the Escape-ish taillights.
  4. I would definitely try going straight to battery for the juice. The Edge can be finicky with voltage/power (could be as simple as a wire gauge issue, don't know), so better to bypass it at that level. Remember, 55W draw is what it is expecting with halogen or "incandescent" lighting. HID is more like fluorescent technology, and draws significantly more power than the rating on startup. That's why 35W is usually OK. 55W, not so much. Don't see such tests mentioned, so thought I'd post (old, but still relevant) this link: http://www.theeshadow.com/files/volvo/hidcomp.html A brief writeup on HID ballasts: http://www.gelighting.com/LightingWeb/na/images/5024_HID_Ballast_Application_Guide_tcm201-21096.pdf
  5. Great idea, thanks for putting it out there! Hope your Edge arrives "any day now", though, so we get to see it included along with the family
  6. Treehugger are you? Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your '11 SEL! What banner is that on the windshield? Sport rims will make it ride a bit rougher, if you are OK with that. Better paired with the Sport suspension, but still, should look pretty good. Tires will be a pocket-nuker though due to size. OEM tires might do just fine, some folks down in TX have gotten 70K+ miles out of them. Check out the CUV tire comparisons over at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=CSTAS Yokohama Parada Spec-X is another popular tire: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Parada+Spec-X&tab=Sizes Snow in Texas?
  7. Welcome to the community! Tell us more about your Edge & ownership experience, maybe we or the Ford rep onsite can help. I assume you have already tried searching the forum for the info you need?
  8. Damned sorry to hear about the red Edge, man! Glad you are safe, with us, and you got into another Edge. Best wishes.
  9. And are these lights retro-fittable to the 2007-2010 Edge? I'm sure I asked the question somewhere already, but what the hey
  10. 35W or 55W kit? Relay/harness direct to battery? BCM could need resetting/replacing.
  11. Welcome, and congrats on your '13 acquisition (despite the wheels). What turned you on to the Edge?
  12. Dealerships What's there to figure out? Code says there's a problem with the converter. Do they intend to open it up and replace the elements? Put in a new one already! well, to be fair, there could be other problems upstream (like leaky injectors/gaskets) causing the problem and that should be fixed also along with the new CC. Regardless, shouldn't have turned you away.
  13. Welcome to the community, Lu, and hope you will end up selecting the Edge as your next ride. The only thing I can say is the Limited is more comfort & entertainment centric, while the Sport is driving-centric with stiffer suspension & handling.
  14. Welcome to the forum, Matt, nice lookin' Edge you got there AWD or FWD? I thought HID wasn't approved for Canadian vehicles, so you seem to be the victim of misleading advertising. OEM HID setups are completely different from halogen setups, you can't just swap bulbs in & out. Aftermarket HID, yes, but not OEM. You should be concerned with enjoying the Edge TOO much! Seriously, the best known issues for this gen of Edge have been the "door ajar" warning, the sticking BAMR, failing brake booster, and the defective throttle body. The 22" wheels are prone to all kinds of issues, but not the smaller sizes. Check the battery to see when it was manufactured. If anywhere near 3 years of age or more, be prepared to replace soon.
  15. Walmart might still take it back, esp if you didn't pay in cash, no? Spray the electronics cleaner & work the door lock manually a few times. If anything works, these 2 things do most often. Besides, they do have a SA or TSB on using some device at the dealership to clean out/reset the switch. Probably not free, but way less expensive than having them replace it. Much cheaper to replace it yourself following the instructions on this forum.
  16. Have seen a couple of people, including Dingo, use the HPS pads, but Dingo hasn't been on here in like forever. I would venture to say that factory rotors are just fine. I'd be more concerned with sticking calipers & slide pins than the rotors to be honest. NAPA has lifetime warranty on their Ultra Premium rotors if you are looking to go that route.
  17. Well, it would be nice to know if they are evaluating the Edge for this problem (haven't seen it reported on the MKX oddly enough). My point is that Ford has a timeline for whatever they do (production, marketing, service advisories, etc). So a delay from first report to actual action is understandable. But if problems are being reported, and they have issued an advisory for other models, why not push up the priority for the Edge? Why are most dealers so unaware of the issue with the throttle body? Why do dealers not have a tool that allows THEM to do the diagnostic (say, by putting the PCM in "engineering mode" to capture this data)? Have an interim action advisory that the customer can take to the dealer, while the final solution is sorted out. This affects realtime drivability, and is certainly not just an annoying "ambient light color" issue.
