Shift to Park Warning when it's in Park
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to AmyLovesHerEdge's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Hope they get your Edge fixed up pronto! -
I see what you mean. Is it "off" more at the top of the door than the bottom? Hopefully no "shaving" or trimming of metal parts is needed.

If the headlights are anything like the taillights, you should be able to separate the lens from the body. There was a writeup sometime ago on how a member coated/painted the interior chrome parts of the taillights black, that has some tips on how to separate and re-join. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14008-diy-tail-light-painting/

I find it really difficult to believe an oil could make that much of a difference, but am interested in your followup I would think colder weather, more idling time, more use of the HVAC, all these things would contribute to the lowered mpg. Still, 4 mpg is a lot!

Absolutely. I posted the alignment procedure for GK purposes, since the topic was brought up. Not sure I see anything in these instructions either to help the door close tighter to the body, but a body shop would know far better than I

Since the frame of reference is relative, either the front or the rear door or both could need alignment. Here are the instructions for a 2007: Door Adjustment — Front NOTE: LH door shown, RH door similar. NOTE: Make sure the rear door is within specifications before making any adjustments to the front door. For additional information, refer to Section 501-35 . Remove the front fender. For additional information, refer to Section 501-02 .Mark the position of the front door hinges to use as a reference point.Loosen the 2 front door lower hinge-to-body bolts just enough to permit movement.Loosen the 2 front door upper hinge-to-body bolts just enough to permit movement.Loosen the front door upper hinge locator pin nut just enough to permit movement.Adjust the front door to specifications. For additional information, refer to Section 501-35 .Tighten the front door upper hinge-to-body bolts in the order shown. Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). Tighten the front door upper hinge locator pin nut. Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Install the front fender. For additional information, refer to Section 501-02 . Door Adjustment — Rear Remove the B-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 .Mark the positions of the rear door hinges to use as reference points.Loosen the 2 lower interior rear door hinge-to-body nuts just enough to permit movement.Loosen the 2 upper interior rear door hinge-to-body bolts just enough to permit movement.Loosen the exterior upper rear door hinge locator pin nut just enough to permit movement.Adjust the rear door to specifications. Hit carpet on hiway, scuffed 22" wheels
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to OnTheFence's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Man, people seem to be sent out there with a missive to cause damage to other vehicles these days! Glad the scuffs are taken care of -

Hope Ford can get you guys a new & improved tank soon!

Post a pic so we can see what the issue is? Is it aligned on the fender side of the door? How much is it off? Closes with no problem?
-
Sync may need to be updated, worst comes to worst, the APIM (which has an extended warranty) may need to be replaced. Did you get the window sticker? You can check the production date on it at the bottom (last 6 digits on line below item #): http://www.inventory.ford.com/services/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin= Another source of info (put in VIN under Vehicle tab): http://www.etis.ford.com We ran into transmission troubles with our '98 Blazer 4x4 before we gave it up. Engine continued to work fine. Some body rust too.

How come?

It's Ford (not Lincoln) leather, you live in a hot/dry climate. If you are planning to keep the Edge for a substantial length of time, dress the leather well with a good leather cleaner/conditioner every couple of months. Should not be a lot of product required if done at these short intervals. Will maintain suppleness and looks.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Very likely, but for under $30, at the very least you are looking at eye candy -

Car washes around here would basically shut down if the highs don't crack the freezing point, so I probably should get in a good wash 'n wax session before then as well! Keep an eye on the battery esp if leaving outdoors. -
Looks like Ford is in the process of acknowledging and implementing a replacement solution to this problem: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12839-serious-gas-tank-leak/page-3?do=findComment&comment=118764 http://www.usnews.com/news/business/articles/2014/10/29/ford-recalls-205-000-suvs-for-fuel-tank-leaks

AEM makes products similar to K&N, probably better known in the F150 community. In fact, this filter was developed in collaboration with K&N. But it doesn't need to be oiled. Fits very nicely into the airbox. You don't need to buy their detergent to clean it either, bonus! -

Been a year since last air filter change. Still looks pretty new. But to scratch the mod itch, installed an AEM DryFlow filter Will see over time if any practical improvements result. -
Great way to break it in Slowly getting colder around here, no snow/ice yet tho.
