  1. That would annoy the heck of out me too! The dealer should check for a cracked evaporator/condensor case and a clogged condensation drain. A little grease on the backing plate for the rear brake pads may also quiet it down (the problem happens sometimes with aftermarket as well).
  2. I believe a 9006 bulb will fit fine in a 9012 socket without any trimming (9012 base has to be trimmed to fit into 9006 however). So look for 9006 LED bulbs that you like.
  3. Look up BG's website for sites near you that offer the induction service. Could be a dealer or service shop. If you want walnut shell blasting for the intake valves, I would think BMW or VW sites have more information on recommended servicing locations.
  4. Name brand (vLEDs) pre-order only at this time: http://www.vleds.com/headlights/lmz-ultra.html EBay (TXT LED lighting): http://www.ebay.com/itm/221424968550 I am currently using the TXT lights, I think they may be a better fit for projectors (like you have) though. Still working on them
  5. You could try the LED bulbs available out there, 20W/side, 2200+ lumen (advertised) per bulb. Plug 'n play. 6000K though, so somewhat above the pure white range. Around 4K color range, there is the incandescent Osram NightBreaker series.
  6. Maybe it is not a universal replacement for OEM HIDs, so they are CYA? Or maybe not certified at the time of manufacture? I am sure it does not matter today. Here is a pic of one that does not have this "restriction": http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-31825660550277_2268_4412249

    oil leaks

Usually running incorrect oil viscosity, improper oil change intervals, etc. will do that. Sometimes can happen if the PCV valve/system is clogged also, worth checking.
  8. Welcome to the community, Nick! Glad to have you and your '11 Edge (and other rides) here! As stated above, great place to be, learn, and share Pix please
  9. Transmission shift points are probably the biggest long-running complaint I have.
  10. From all reports, Ford has had less issues with carbon buildup than their widely publicized German counterparts. The engine would still benefit from a DI cleaning service (upper induction service) or walnut shell blasting every 30,000 miles or so.
  11. vLEDs is a reputable vendor, most issues have related to switchbacks, not surprising with the Edge's finicky system. BUT the rating of 4500 has to be total for BOTH bulbs, not ea, as only 125% of halogen output means 2250 per side (halogen typically 1600-1900 per side). I hope the wattage rating is also a TOTAL rating, because I currently have LED headlights that are purportedly 20W/2200 lumens per bulb (unverified).
  12. I know of a guy who used their lighting products on his F150, and the results were quite good! Their lumens rating is also probably a believable rating, unlike many vendors on EBay.
  13. Have you tried the DIY fixes mentioned on this forum for the door ajar issue? Try spraying the switch with electrical cleaner/MAF cleaner. If you have a keyed entry, use the key to work the lock mechanism a few times. If you HAVE to replace the switch, there are a couple of sets of instructions on how to DIY. Keep all receipts in case Ford decides to reimburse down the road. How long are your trips with the F150? City/Hwy? There are a few reports of low mpg like yours, but most are at least 16 mpg or better. Any other operational problems you have noticed?
  14. Leak in the coil would explain why another member is smelling oil in the cabin but not outside, along with mustiness. Good info!
  15. Thanks for the update. Sounds like all is a-ok now! Still have your Edge, or the Fusion is a replacement?
  16. Exciting times for sure! Good to try out a different ride once in a while to keep yourself from getting bored Glad you made it through OK, too bad about the chili competition.
  17. Did you ever find out the source of the oil leak early this year? It could have returned. I had a PTU seal go bad on me, would only smell in the wintertime on startup. Condensor and/or heater core may need servicing with BG FrigiClean or similar product, applied through the condensation drain. This should get rid of musty/mildewy odors. EDIT: Per another recent post, some F150 owners had an evaporator coil leaking, creating an oil smell in the cabin. So this is another item you might have looked at.
  18. There's a separate MKX forum??? Welcome aboard, TJay, good choice for new ride This forum is very friendly and informative. Keep us updated on how you do with your MKX. Pics too, please
  19. I looked at the driver side door today, and it is every so slightly out at both top & bottom. No problem. I do however need to spray some silicone on the weatherstripping as the weather's getting to be pretty cold.
  20. What year/level of Edge do you have? If it's still the OEM battery, typically 3 years is on the outside the max life the battery is good for.
  21. Have never found just the lenses. My guess is that if you did, brand new, they would nearly be the cost of the entire assembly. They try to push you into complete replacement these days.
  22. Wouldn't mind a 7-seater with the Edge nameplate on it in the U.S. Yeah, I know, we have the Explorer ...
